Indagamos, a partir de los manuscritos inéditos de Das Ich und das Es, los puntos eminentes instaurados por la lectura de sus tres versiones: borrador, copia en limpio y texto publicado, en el momento en que surge una disimetría entre lo reprimido-icc y un Icc no-todo reprimido. Estos documentos revelan una transcripción 'casi' directa de las formulaciones freudianas en un estado naciente que llevan la marca de pensamientos urgidos por lo real del psicoanálisis, cuando todavía no está presente el tiempo de hacerse comprender en el contexto de su obra. Y es, justamente, en esta condición de inicial que el texto manuscrito ofrece una novedosa redefinición del Icc. Tal como señala en la Introducción las cuestiones que interroga en El yo y el ello retoman los pensamientos iniciados en su escrito de 1920 pero sin seguir la elaboración teórica que llama 'especulación analítica', aunque a último momento incluya sus conclusiones. Esta relectura interroga el encuentro de la pulsión de muerte con la segunda tópica, es decir, con ese material Icc que permanece no-reconocido. Y, a partir de 1924, establece de que manera el supuesto de la pulsión de muerte ilumina la discontinuidad existente ente icc e Icc [ello]. El cruce entre la hipótesis especulativa y un masoquismo erógeno primario produce un giro y da entrada a la cura misma como satisfacción sustitutiva. En síntesis, la lectura de los textos de El yo y el ello contando, por primera vez, con las tres versiones y sus dos anexos, introducen, con la disimilitud icc e Icc, un cambio de pregunta; anticipan la hendidura o Spaltung del sujeto, con ese objeto [el yo-cuerpo] que Freud no termina de construir; y anuncian que el Icc es lo que se funda de la huella de lo no-reconocido, que clama por ese mismo campo heterogéneo que obligaba en 1920 a tomar en consideración un más allá del principio de placer que divide el espacio euclidiano dejando asomar también su carácter disímil, asimétrico. Así, en ciertos momentos privilegiados de un análisis, vía trabajo del sueño, se produce la activación de los restos de lo visto y de lo oído, es decir, de un saber hecho de sedimentos, de los excedentes traumáticos del tesoro de palabras, para cada cual, de su lengua materna, cuando dicha lengua se separa del lenguaje produciendo un Icc no-todo reprimido que bordea el agujero de lo no-reconocido, es decir, de su punto de fracaso mismo: la imposibilidad con que el sexo se inscribe en el inconsciente

The biostratigraphic distribution and abundance of lower Oligocene to Pleistocene diatoms is documented from Holes 747A, 747B, 748B, 749B, and 751A drilled during Ocean Drilling Program Leg 120 on the Kerguelen Plateau in the southeast Indian Ocean. The occurrence of middle and upper Eocene diatoms is also documented, but these are rare and occur in discrete intervals. The recovery of several Oligocene to Pleistocene sections with minimal coring gaps, relatively good magnetostratigraphic signatures, and mixed assemblages of both calcareous and siliceous microfossils makes the above four Leg 120 sites important biostratigraphic reference sections for the Southern Ocean and Antarctic continent. A high-resolution diatom zonation divides the last 36 m.y. into 45 zones and subzones. This zonation is built upon an existing biostratigraphic framework developed over the past 20 yr of Southern Ocean/Antarctic deep-sea coring and drilling. After the recent advances from diatom biostratigraphic studies on sediments from Legs 113, 114, 119, and 120, a zonal framework for the Southern Ocean is beginning to stabilize. The potential age resolution afforded by the high-diversity diatom assemblages in this region ranks among the highest of all fossil groups. In addition to the 46 datum levels that define the diatom zones and subzones, the approximate stratigraphic level, age, and magnetic anomaly correlative of more than 150 other diatom datums are determined or estimated. These total 73 datum levels for the Pliocene-Pleistocene, 67 for the Miocene, and 45 for the Oligocene. Greater stratigraphic resolution is possible as the less common and poorly documented species become better known. This high-resolution diatom stratigraphy, combined with good to moderately good magnetostratigraphic control, led to the recognition of more than 10 intervals where hiatuses dissect the Oligocene-Pleistocene section on the Kerguelen Plateau. Según Dilthey, el análisis formalista llevado adelante por la gnoseología de Kant no logra comprender el mundo humano, por su parte, Hegel si aborda al hombre histórico, pero subsume su mundo al despliegue de la razón o el saber absoluto. El proyecto de una fundamentación de las ciencias del espíritu llevado adelante por Dilthey busca adentrarse en el mundo humano concibiéndolo como el conjunto de manifestaciones objetivadas de la vida. Kant y Hegel se convierten en sus interlocutores, pero también Comte con quien se enfrenta en pos de fundamentar la autonomía metodológica de las ciencias del espíritu. Sostengo que la noción tardía de «espíritu objetivo», que Dilthey toma de Hegel, pero que la concibe como el devenir de la vida política y cultural, permite releer toda la filosofía de Dilthey con otra perspectiva. El presente estudio no busca realizar un análisis comparativo entre Dilthey y Hegel, sino partir de la recepción que el primero hace del segundo a los efectos de comprender su filosofía. En este sentido, para Dilthey el «espíritu objetivo» está constituido por el conjunto de las organizaciones exteriores de la sociedad ?la estructura político-jurídica de la sociedad- y por las formas culturales como arte, religión y filosofía. El hombre es quien, según Dilthey, produce estas instituciones las cuales a su vez le anteceden y le sucederán en su existencia. En este sentido Dilthey concibe al hombre como un ser histórico y un «punto de cruce» de las distintas objetivaciones históricas. Este mundo compartido es el mundo histórico ?expresado a través de las nociones como Gemeinsamkeit, objektive Geist, verwebt y kreuzungspunkt-, aquel que contiene el conjunto de experiencia de vidas acumuladas y las expectativas de futuro. En síntesis, se sostiene que para Dilthey el mundo es manifestación objetiva de la vida ? fenomenología del espíritu-, siendo el espíritu objetivo o la vida objetivada, un producto del devenir de la vida humana. Es decir, en el mundo histórico actúan individuos dotados de voluntad- en una conexión estructural con su entorno, como «puntos de cruce» de las distintas objetivaciones. Es decir, la preocupación histórico sistemática diltheyana gira en torno al tema del hombre ?sujeto individual, «punto de cruce»- y lo socio-histórico ?mundo intersubjetivo y espíritu objetivo, manifestación objetivada de la vida-. Así, el hombre juega, para Dilthey, un papel central en la historia y en el despliegue de la vida. Todos los estudios gnoseológicos, epistemológicos, históricos y toda fundamentación sistemática es producto de las conexiones de vida. La importancia de los individuos, sus propias manifestaciones de vida y el «espíritu objetivo» -centros de análisis de las ciencias del espíritu-, permite comprender a la filosofía diltheyana como una filosofía de la intersubjetividad, en oposición a las interpretaciones clásicas que hacían que ella cayera en un psicologismo-empático. Asimismo, el plano de la exteriorización de las acciones individuales y sociales le permite a Dilthey encontrar un saber objetivo para las ciencias del espíritu

El presente trabajo indaga el proceso de reestructuración represiva en el mundo actual, en el contexto de la reorganización del poder hegemónico. Factores como el incremento de las penas, la disminución de la edad penal, la obsesión por una seguridad absoluta y una "tolerancia cero" -la criminalización de la protesta social-, permiten pensar cómo el encierro de ciertos grupos sociales marginados, y con ello el aumento de la población carcelaria, resultan funcionales al nuevo modelo estatal y global en lugares como Estados Unidos, Europa Oriental y Latinoamérica. Sobre este eje de análisis este artículo propone repensar la relación entre el modelo económico-político y el modelo penitenciario en el mundo globalizado.

Oxygen and carbon isotopic ratios were measured from Maestrichtian benthic and planktonic foraminifer species and bulk carbonate samples from ODP Sites 689 and 690, drilled on the Maud Rise during Leg 113. Careful scanning electron microscope observations reveal that test calcite in some intervals was diagenetically altered, although Sr/Ca and isotopic ratios of these tests do not appear to have been modified significantly. Foraminifer d18O values at both sites document a cooling trend during early Maestrichtian time, a rapid drop in water temperatures at the time of the first appearance of Abathomphalus mayaroensis in the high southern latitude regions (about 69.9 Ma), and lower water temperatures during late Maestrichtian time. d13C values record a depletion in 13C in the latest early Maestrichtian time beginning at about 72.2 Ma, just prior to the sharp late Maestrichtian increase in d18O values. These trends are similar to those previously reported for well-preserved benthic foraminifer species from Seymour Island, in the Antarctic Peninsula. Paleotemperature estimates are also comparable to those at Seymour Island and suggest temperate climatic conditions in Antarctica and that bottom waters in the southern South Atlantic region were of Antarctic origin. Benthic and planktonic foraminifer 613C values fluctuate sympathetically and are higher in upper Maestrichtian sediments than in the lower Maestrichtian sequence.

The distribution of seagrass and associated benthic communities on the reef and lagoon of Low Isles, Great Barrier Reef, was mapped between the 29 July and 29 August 1997. For this survey, observers walked or free-dived at survey points positioned approximately 50 m apart along a series of transects. Visual estimates of above-ground seagrass biomass and % cover of each benthos and substrate type were recorded at each survey point. A differential handheld global positioning system (GPS) was used to locate each survey point (accuracy ±3m). A total of 349 benthic survey points were examined. To assist with mapping meadow/habitat type boundaries, an additional 177 field points were assessed and a georeferenced 1:12,000 aerial photograph (26th August 1997) was used as a secondary source of information. Bathymetric data (elevation below Mean Sea Level) measured at each point assessed and from Ellison (1997) supplemented information used to determine boundaries, particularly in the subtidal lagoon. 127.8 ±29.6 hectares was mapped. Seagrass and associated benthic community data was derived by haphazardly placing 3 quadrats (0.25m**2) at each survey point. Seagrass above ground biomass (standing crop, grams dry weight (g DW m**-2)) was determined within each quadrat using a non-destructive visual estimates of biomass technique and the seagrass species present identified. In addition, the cover of all benthos was measured within each of the 3 quadrats using a systematic 5 point method. For each quadrat, frequency of occurrence for each benthic category was converted to a percentage of the total number of points (5 per quadrat). Data are presented as the average of the 3 quadrats at each point. Polygons of discrete seagrass meadow/habitat type boundaries were created using the on-screen digitising functions of ArcGIS (ESRI Inc.), differentiated on the basis of colour, texture, and the geomorphic and geographical context. The resulting seagrass and benthic cover data of each survey point and for each seagrass meadow/habitat type was linked to GPS coordinates, saved as an ArcMap point and polygon shapefile, respectively, and projected to Universal Transverse Mercator WGS84 Zone 55 South.

An almost complete Upper Cretaceous sedimentary sequence recently recovered on the Kerguelen Plateau (southern Indian Ocean) during ODP Leg 183 was analysed for planktonic foraminifera in order to refine and integrate the zonal schemes previously proposed for the Southern Ocean area. Detailed biostratigraphic analysis carried out on holes 1135A, 1136A and 1138A (poleward of 50°S palaeolatitude during Late Cretaceous time) has allowed recognition of low and mid-high latitude bioevents, useful for correlation across latitudes, in addition to known Austral bioevents. The low latitude biozonation can be applied to Turonian sediments, because of the occurrence of Helvetoglobotruncana helvetica, which marks the boundary between Whiteinella archaeocretacea and Helvetoglobotruncana helvetica zones. The base of the Whiteinella archeocretacea Zone falls within the uppermost Cenomanian-Turonian black shale level in Hole 1138A. The stratigraphic interval from upper Turonian to uppermost Santonian can be resolved using bioevents recognized in the mid-high latitude sections. They are, in stratigraphic order: the last occurrence of Falsotruncana maslakovae in the Coniacian, the first occurrence of Heterohelix papula at the Coniacian/Santonian boundary, the extinction of the marginotruncanids in the late Santonian, and the first occurrence of Globigerinelloides impensus in the latest (?) Santonian. The remainder of the Late Cretaceous fits rather well in the Austral zonal scheme, except that Globigerinelloides impensus exhibits a stratigraphic range in agreement with its record at the mid-high latitude sections and extends further downwards than previously recorded at southern sites. Therefore, despite the poor recovery in certain intervals and the presence of several hiatuses of local and regional importance as revealed by correlation among holes, a more detailed zonal scheme has been obtained (mainly for the less resolved Turonian-Santonian interval). Remarks on some species often overlooked in literature are also provided.

Total organic carbon (TOC) and calcium carbonate (CaCO3) concentrations were determined for 304 samples, and biomarkers were analyzed for 101 samples from Core 167-1016C-1H. TOC varies between 1% and 2%, and CaCO3 is typically 1%-4%, with peaks reaching 14%. Paleotemperature estimated from Uk'37 varies from 8.5° to 17.5°C. The Uk'37 variation implies that Core 167-1016C-1H covers oxygen isotope Stages 1-6. Peaks of diatom-derived C25:1 HBI alkene concentrations occur during warming intervals, suggesting intensified upwelling during deglaciation. The concentrations of haptophyte-derived alkenones and diatom-derived C25:1 HBI alkene vary out of phase, which presumably resulted from the changes in the mode of nutrient supply to surface mixed layer. Maximal CaCO3 contents (>10%) were observed in both warming and cooling intervals. The peak in cooling interval relates to an alkenone maximum, whereas the peaks in warming intervals do not. This implies that carbonate production is not the only factor controlling carbonate compensation depth at this site, and it suggests considering the changes in North Pacific deep-water chemistry. Petroleum-type compounds are present in Site 1016 sediments. Their concentrations are maximized in the warming intervals that correspond to the timing of destruction of a huge tar mound off Point Conception. The tarry material was presumably transported by the Arguello Fan system to Site 1016.

The Bounty Trough, east of New Zealand, lies along the southeastern edge of the present-day Subtropical Front (STF), and is a major conduit via the Bounty Channel, for terrigenous sediment supply from the uplifted Southern Alps to the abyssal Bounty Fan. Census data on 65 benthic foraminiferal faunas (>63 µm) from upper bathyal (ODP 1119), lower bathyal (DSDP 594) and abyssal (ODP 1122) sequences, test and refine existing models for the paleoceanographic and sedimentary history of the trough through the last 150 ka (marine isotope stages, MIS 6-1). Cluster analysis allows recognition of six species groups, whose distribution patterns coincide with bathymetry, the climate cycles and displaced turbidite beds. Detrended canonical correspondence analysis and comparisons with modern faunal patterns suggest that the groups are most strongly influenced by food supply (organic carbon flux), and to a lesser extent by bottom water oxygen and factors relating to sediment type. Major faunal changes at upper bathyal depths (1119) probably resulted from cycles of counter-intuitive seaward-landward migrations of the Southland Front (SF) (north-south sector of the STF). Benthic foraminiferal changes suggest that lower nutrient, cool Subantarctic Surface Water (SAW) was overhead in warm intervals, and higher nutrient-bearing, warm neritic Subtropical Surface Water (STW) was overhead in cold intervals. At lower bathyal depths (594), foraminiferal changes indicate increased glacial productivity and lowered bottom oxygen, attributed to increased upwelling and inflow of cold, nutrient-rich, Antarctic Intermediate Water (AAIW) and shallowing of the oxygen-minimum zone (upper Circum Polar Deep Water, CPDW). The observed cyclical benthic foraminiferal changes are not a result of associations migrating up and down the slope, as glacial faunas (dominated by Globocassidulina canalisuturata and Eilohedra levicula at upper and lower bathyal depths, respectively) are markedly different from those currently living in the Bounty Trough. On the abyssal Bounty Fan (1122), faunal changes correlate most strongly with grain size, and are attributed to varying amounts of mixing of displaced and in-situ faunas. Most of the displaced foraminifera in turbiditic sand beds are sourced from mid-outer shelf depths at the head of the Bounty Channel. Turbidity currents were more prevalent during, but not restricted to, glacial intervals.

The extant nannofossil biostratigraphic and biochronologic framework for the early-middle Pleistocene time interval has been tested through the micropaleontological analysis of globally distributed high-quality low- to mid-latitude deep-sea successions. The quantitative temporal distribution patterns of relative abundances of selected taxa were reconstructed in critical intervals, and the following biohorizons were defined: first occurrence of medium-sized Gephyrocapsa spp. (bmG); last occurrence of Calcidiscus macintyrei (tCm); first occurrence of large Gephyrocapsa spp. (blG); last occurrence of large Gephyrocapsa spp. (tlG); first occurrence of Reticulofenestra asanoi (bRa); re-entrance of medium-sized Gephyrocapsa spp. (reemG) and last occurrence of Reticulofenestra asanoi (tRa). The detailed patterns of abundance change at these biohorizons were used to generate a detailed biostratigraphy, and the biostratigraphic data were transformed into a precise biochronology by means of correlation to isotope stratigraphies and astronomical timescales. The degree of isochrony or diachrony of the biohorizons was evaluated. Biohorizons tlG and tRa are isochronous occurring close to marine isotope stages (MIS)55 and MIS 22, respectively, and bmG and blG are slightly diachronous on the order of 30-40 kyr, whereas biohorizons tCm, reemG and bRa are confirmed as diachronous on the order of 100, 80 and 60 kyr, respectively. Some of the events are clearly controlled by environmental conditions, e.g. the last occurrence of R. asanoi, related to significant environmental changes associated with the first large-amplitude glaciation of the late Quaternary, MIS 22.

Neogene biostratigraphic and magnetostratigraphic data are compiled from Holes 747A, 748B, and 751A drilled on the Southern Kerguelen Plateau during Ocean Drilling Program Leg 120. Neogene sections have excellent to good magnetostratigraphic signatures in many intervals. This, in addition to minimal coring gaps and the occurrence of mixed assemblages of both calcareous and siliceous microfossil assemblages, makes these valuable biostratigraphic reference sections for intra- and extraregional correlations. This paper combines the sequence of biostratigraphic events reported from diatom, radiolarian, planktonic foraminifer, calcareous nannofossil, and silicoflagellate studies of Leg 120 sediments. It correlates microfossil datums with the geomagnetic polarity time scale to test existing age estimates and to refine biostratigraphic age controls for the southern high latitudes. Significant biostratigraphic datums are presented in a series of age-depth plots. Numerous hiatuses are clearly identified through this approach, and the positions of lesser disconformities are suggested. Most Neogene intervals are represented in at least one site, although "regional" unconformities occur in the upper Pliocene, uppermost Miocene/lowermost Pliocene, middle upper Miocene, middle middle Miocene, and at the lower/middle Miocene boundaries. The longest hiatus spanned 6 m.y., with most other hiatuses representing 1 m.y. or less. This paper compiles Leg 120 biostratigraphic and magnetostratigraphic data for use in future syntheses of southern high latitude biostratigraphy and presents an age model for Leg 120 Neogene sediments.

Geochemical analyses of the middle Eocene through lower Oligocene lithologic Unit IIIC (260-518 meters below seafloor [mbsf]) indicate a relatively constant geochemical composition of the detrital fraction throughout this depositional interval at Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) Site 647 in the southern Labrador Sea. The main variability occurs in redox-sensitive elements (e.g., iron, manganese, and phosphorus), which may be related to early diagenetic mobility in anaerobic pore waters during bacterial decomposition of organic matter. Initial preservation of organic matter was mediated by high sedimentation rates (36 m/m.y.). High iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) contents are associated with carbonate concretions of siderite, manganosiderite, and rhodochrosite. These concretions probably formed in response to elevated pore-water alkalinity and total dissolved carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations resulting from bacterial sulfate reduction, as indicated by nodule stable-isotope compositions and pore-water geochemistry. These nodules differ from those found in upper Cenozoic hemipelagic sequences in that they are not associated with methanogenesis. Phosphate minerals (carbonate-fluorapatite) precipitated in some intervals, probably as the result of desorption of phosphorus from iron and manganese during reduction. The bulk chemical composition of the sediments differs little from that of North Atlantic Quaternary abyssal red clays, but may contain a minor hydrothermal component. The silicon/ aluminum (Si/Al) ratio, however, is high and variable and probably reflects original variations in biogenic opal, much of which is now altered to smectite and/or opal CT. An increase in the sodium/potassium (Na/K) ratio in the upper Eocene corresponds to the beginning of coarsergrained feldspar flux to the site, possibly marking the onset of more vigorous deep currents. Although the Site 647 cores provide a nearly complete high-resolution, high-latitude Eocene-Oligocene record, the high sedimentation rate and somewhat unusual diagenetic conditions have led to variable alteration of benthic foraminifers and fine-fraction carbonate and have overprinted the original stable-isotope records. Planktonic foraminifers are less altered, but on the whole, there is little chance of sorting out the nature and timing of environmental change on the basis of our stable-isotope analyses.

Whole-core (WC) measurements of low-field magnetic susceptibility (MS) provide an extremely simple, rapid, and nondestructive technique for high-resolution core logging and lithostratigraphic correlation between subsidiary holes at Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) sites. This is particularly useful for reconstructing composite, stratigraphically continuous sequences for individual ODP sites by splicing the uninterrupted records obtained from subsections of offset cores recovered from adjacent holes. Correlation between the WCMS profiles of holes drilled at different sites is also possible in some instances, especially when lithologic variations at each site are controlled by regional paleoceanographic or global (i.e., orbitally forced) paleoclimatic changes. In such circumstances, WCMS may also be used as a proxy paleoclimatic indicator, duly assisting climatostratigraphic zonation of the recovered sequence by more conventional microfossil and isotopic techniques. High-resolution WCMS profiles are also useful in detecting intervals of the recovered sequence affected by drilling disturbance, in the form of contamination by pipe rust or similar metallic artifacts as well as discontinuities related to repenetration of the corer or loss of material between successively cored intervals. Stratigraphic intervals that have been affected by early (suboxic) diagenesis resulting from a high initial organic matter content of the sediment are also readily identified by WCMS logging. The MS signal of horizons affected by suboxic diagensis is typically degraded in proportion to the duration and intensity (related to initial Corg concentration) of organic matter remineralization. The lowering of MS values during suboxic diagenesis results from "dissolution" (bacterially mediated ionic dissociation) of magnetic iron and manganese oxides and oxyhydroxides in the sediment. It is to be hoped that, on future ODP (or similar) cruises, WCMS logging will cease to be regarded as a mere adjunct to paleomagnetic measurements, but rather as a simple, yet powerful, lithostratigraphic tool, directly analogous to downhole geophysical logging tools, and complimentary to shipboard techniques for whole-core measurements of physical properties (e.g., P-wave logging, GRAPE, etc.).

Snow height was measured by the Snow Depth Buoy 2015S22, an autonomous platform, drifting on Arctic sea ice, deployed during the Norwegian Young sea ICE cruise (N-ICE 2015) project. The resulting time series describes the evolution of snow depth as a function of place and time between 2015-03-01 and 2015-05-06 in sample intervals of 1 hour. The Snow Depth Buoy consists of four independent sonar measurements representing the area (approx. 10 m**2) around the buoy. The buoy was installed on first year ice. In addition to snow depth, geographic position (GPS), barometric pressure, air temperature, and ice surface temperature were measured. Negative values of snow depth occur if surface ablation continues into the sea ice. Thus, these measurements describe the position of the sea ice surface relative to the original snow-ice interface. Differences between single sensors indicate small-scale variability of the snow pack around the buoy. The data set has been processed, including the removal of obvious inconsistencies (missing values). Records without any snow depth may still be used for sea ice drift analyses.

The resulting time series describes the evolution of snow depth as a function of place and time between 2015-01-24 and 2015-02-21 in sample intervals of 1 hour. The Snow Depth Buoy consists of four independent sonar measurements representing the area (approx. 10 m**2) around the buoy. The buoy was installed on first year ice. In addition to snow depth, geographic position (GPS), barometric pressure, air temperature, and ice surface temperature were measured. Negative values of snow depth occur if surface ablation continues into the sea ice. Thus, these measurements describe the position of the sea ice surface relative to the original snow-ice interface. Differences between single sensors indicate small-scale variability of the snow pack around the buoy. The data set has been processed, including the removal of obvious inconsistencies (missing values). Records without any snow depth may still be used for sea ice drift analyses.
