De cada juego se explica detalladamente su desarrollo y se indican además los objetivos, participantes, duración, materiales, dirección del juego y cuestiones para reflexionar sobre el juego.

Los alumnos de centros escolares de toda España y del Reino Unido se han unido para crear esta colección de originales poemas e ilustraciones. Su trabajo pone de manifiesto una profunda preocupación por el futuro de nuestro planeta. Forma parte del proyecto bilingüe iniciado por el British Council de España y el Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia como parte de su proyecto bilingüe en escuelas estatales.

Fly traps! : plants that bite back.

Historia sobre el mundo real donde se describe cómo un hombre investiga el mundo de las plantas carnívoras. Escrita desde un punto de vista muy personal, mezclando hechos con sentimientos, anima a los niños a pensar, sentir e imaginar lo que aprenden. El diseño de página tiene interesantes variaciones al diferenciar entre la historia y la información. El viaje del hombre se cuenta en caracteres grandes, mientras que los hechos sobre las plantas carnívoras están escritos con una letra más pequeña,lo que da una gran cantidad de información en una forma entretenida. Especialmente interesantes son las descripciones de cómo las plantas comen los insectos que capturan. Al final hay notas para el profesor.

The empire strikes back: Die Postkoloniale Indische Literatur von Aussen Nach Innen

The article, which is divided into five sections, the Indian-born author of German language attempts to illustrate/illuminate the particular hurdles to determining this subject as a genre. The works discussed by male and female authors vary tremndously one from another both in theme and in style. Among them are novels and stories in traditional narrative style by Naipaul, Ghosh, Lahiri… primarily grouped by major themes of immigration. At the same time that authors such as Rushdie, Roy, Tharoor... have been endeavoring to expand the vocabulary and conventions of the English language and to further modern narrative technique. Not only is the complex Indian subcontinent and its positive and negative realities portrayed and redefined, but as a parallel occurrence, rave stories and pop novels are being written by Rushdie and Kureishi. One must note here that English is not the mother tongue of any of these writers. The English language is used as an instrument of literary and artistic expression. This essay also expounds on examples of how “Indian Writing in English” differentiates itself clearly from “The Indian Romanticism” of European literature. The postcolonial writers point an admonishing finger to the wounds of India and they ruthlessly mock the inhumane regimes of Mrs. Thatcher and of Mr. Bush. One segment is devoted to the bizarre portrayal of love, gender and sex relations that makes the reading of the books in question vexing.

Postcolonial language : rejection and subversion

Postcolonial literature is often depicted as a form of cultural translation, a privileged space from which to rewrite history and retroactively reflect upon the colonial experience. Based on this notion of cultural translation, the article seeks to examine, respectively, Aimé Césaire’s Une Tempête (1969) and J. M. Coetzee’s Foe (1986) as regards the “written-back” characters Caliban and Friday. Both characters will be compared and contrasted concerning their peculiar use of language as an instrument of power, subversion, and rejection of the European ruling.

The influence of ideology on the translation of Mao Zedong’s poems

Mao Zedong’s poems hold an important place in the history of Chinese literature. From the perspective of manipulation theory, the paper aims at exploring the influences that ideology exerted on the translation of Mao Zedong’s poems. These influences have manifested themselves mainly in such aspects as the organizing of translation activity, the selection of source texts, the comprehension of the texts and the freedom translators enjoy to render the poems.

É necessário considerar o facto de que na América a cidade assenta no princípio da Cidade erguida na Colina e esta dimensão mítica e simbólica que inspira os colonos recém-chegados a Nova Inglaterra é perpetuada nas gerações seguintes, refletindo-se igualmente no panorama literário norte-americano.
