The implement of Specialized’s Dentistry Centers in Brazil is, on present-day, one of the prime faces of Oral Health Brazilian Political, of which is to amplify and to qualify the specialized’s dentistry services proffer. The aim of this study, done with indirect dates, was to analyze the implantation and geographical distribution of these Centers in Brazil and try to make a relationship between this information and social and oral health factors. The results obtained showed the presence of 339 Centers already implanted in Brazil, homogeneously allocated in 283 cities, by a total of 5.560 brazilian cities, presented in the five Greater Regions. The most of the Centers were presented in large load cities. The data showed Southeast, Central West and Northeast regions with the major percentage of cities carrying Specialized’s Dentistry Centers (7,6%; 6,5%; 6,1%, respectively), while North and South regions present the minor covering taxes (4,0% and 4,5%, respectively). Relation to population’s social and buccal needs, North and Northeast Regions have the most adverse conditions, on the contrary to South, Southeast and Central West Regions who show the best one. Although the finded results were not so expressive, reflecting the brazilian geographical and populational characteristics and the essential development of specialized dentistry services, this initiative presents a real progress over the reorganization of dentistry’s practice.

Human recourses on Brazilian Health System (SUS) are important social points because on this form the State can guarantee the health like a right of Brazilian population, based on National Constitution Dictates. The Plan of Offices, Careers and Salaries (PCCS) is an administrative tool that should be elaborated to attendance objectives of organization. It maintain the satisfaction level of workers, with a politic of Human Recourses that allows its development and so, can get higher productivity, efficiency and objectivity of services rendered at community. The aim of this study is to contextualize the PCCS like an instrument of People Management to guide and incentive one of forms to turn no precarious the work force of Public System Dental Professionals in SUS. For them, it was realized a literature review, and official documents of Health Ministry were consulted, like governmental decrees, laws, health conference written report. It was possible to verify that, although there is legal basement on the use of PCCS-SUS by Brazilian cities like a tool to attract and maintain dental surgeon developing his profession on SUS, is often the absence of valorization of this professional, and this situation no allows his exclusive dedication at health public services. Precarious work in Dentistry is still observed on many regions of Brazil.

The design of oral health has as its most important to bring knowledge, prevention and treatment for the population of municipalities that have this important means of promoting health in general. These programs are based on socio-educational projects, such as tooth brushing, educational lectures, projects, preventive and, fluoride use, application of sealants in pits and even the prevention of oral cancer. In the area of healing, the centers of dental specialties (CEO) associated with the PSF are responsible for implementing treatment of periodontal diseases, trauma, restoration of teeth affected by dental caries, prosthesis design for functional rehabilitation of the patient, biopsies of oral lesions , among other specialties. This study aims to evaluate the students of the Graduate Program in Dentistry, Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho, Campus de Araçatuba, in order to coordinate a program to promote health in their communities. The result based on parameters in the OMS showed that the majority of graduate students of the Faculty of Dentistry Araçatuba acquired knowledge to a reasonable oral health program in their city as a coordinator.

O perfil, na área de saúde, tem por base quantificar a necessidade dos trabalhos a serem executados dentro da interdisciplinaridade. Assim, os trabalhos podem ser direcionados com maior exatidão, correspondendo diretamente aos anseios da população idosa frequentadora dos serviços de saúde. O objetivo desse trabalho é avaliar a realidade do atendimento ao idoso na Estratégia Saúde da Família. Foi utilizado um questionário autorizado pela SBGG/PR, (Sociedade Brasileira de Geriatria e gerontologia seção Paraná) para estudo transversal, que engloba perguntas sobre aspectos sociais, políticos e específicos sobre os atendimentos prestados em uma Unidade da Estratégia Saúde da Família. A população estudada corresponde a um grupo de 90 idosos de ambos os gêneros, freqüentadores da Unidade de Saúde da Família Dr. Nilton Luiz de Castro, no bairro Tarobá no Município de Ponta Grossa – PR. A maioria dos idosos que frequentam as Unidades de Saúde da Família são mulheres; 90% são independentes; 50% esperam entre trinta minutos e uma hora por uma vaga para consulta; 65% das doenças crônicas diagnosticadas são tratadas na unidade de saúde; 100% relataram que não havia nenhum médico especialista na área de geriatria atendendo na unidade de saúde; 90% dos idosos observaram que havia programas de apoio aos idosos na instituição. A falta de informação dos idosos auxiliada pelo descaso dado as suas condições como pacientes especiais, juntamente com a falta de programas para atendimento especializado são os principais problemas que atingem os idosos nas Unidades de Saúde da Família. A maioria dos problemas poderia ser resolvida com a disponibilidade de pessoas treinadas e preparadas para atender esta população.

This article aims, through a theoretical essay, to promote a reflection about the new roles played by people in families, at work and at the society in general. Based on papers and scientific bibliography, it broaches the changes at the contemporary society, linked to changes on world of work and family relationships, focused on the unbalance at family-work relation. Some current organizational initiatives were cited as plans of prevention and improvement of worker health, which affect their relations. It was considered the need of reconstruction of gender stereotypes and reducing the inequality of opportunity between people as focal points for changing a current scenario, which prevails in the lack of balance between requirements that can generate negative consequences both for health the individual and their families and for the organization.

This study was qualitative in nature and aimed to investigate the possible interference of spiritual experiences with the subjective perception of quality of life. The perspectives of civil servants in education and health services were compared. The study was developed through bibliographic and exploratory research, and the instrument used for data collection for the exploratory research was the WHOQOL-bref, which was applied in two stages: before and after experiences with spiritual activities. The purposive sample used in this study was composed of civil servants working in health and education administrative sectors of the Brazilian Unified Health System and a State University, respectively, with the intention of broadening the understanding about the perception of quality of life in civil servants from different sectors. The exploratory research of the study was carried out in three stages. The first was a two-phase data collection, before and after experiences with spiritual activities offered to civil servants who worked in the health care field, as well as the analysis of the results of this step. The second stage was the collection of data before and after experiences with spiritual activities offered to civil servants who worked in the administrative sector of education in a public university, besides the analysis of the results of this step. The third stage consisted of a comparison of the results obtained in the preceding two steps. The data resulting from the use of the research instrument for both samples were analyzed via Thematic Content Analysis. A questionnaire containing 26 questions based on four main themes was used. The first two questions were related to perceived quality of life and health satisfaction and they were not part of the specific domains. Objective: to evaluate the standardization of vaccination rooms in the Municipality of Marília, State of São Paulo, Brazil. Methods: descriptive and exploratory study, realized in 2008-2009; the instrument used was the Supervision in Vaccination Rooms, of the Ministry of Health; variables analyzed were general aspects of the vaccination room, technical procedures, cold chain, information system, post-vaccination adverse events, special immunobiologicals, epidemiological surveillance and health education; the score achieved classifies the room (90.0-100.0% = ideal; 76.0-89.0% = good; 50.0-75.0% = fair; <50.0% = insufficient); overall index for each point was calculated as the average score of all rooms. Results: technical procedures, information system, post-vaccination adverse events and special immunobiologicals were scored as ideal; cold chain, epidemiological surveillance and health education were scored as good; and to general aspects of the vaccination room, the evaluation was fair. Conclusion: general index for vaccination rooms in the municipality was considered ideal.

The Brazilian Federal Constitution promulgated in 1988 created the concept of Social Welfare, which is based on the triad: Health, Social Security and Social Assistance. The Unified Health System (SUS) was then instituted. SUS is a conquest of a society that seeks social justice, integrality, equalitarian and universal access to health services. In the present essay, I succinctly discourse on the various meanings of integrality. I present the theoretical basis of complexity and transdisciplinarity by opposing to reductionism, aiming at showing that, by means of transdisciplinarity and intersectoriality, integrality can be achievable.

Objective: This paper is intended to explore how nurses working in primary health care perceive acceptance. Method: It is based on a qualitative study conducted through interviews with 21 nurses from eight municipalities in the State of São Paulo. A phenomenological approach was used in data analysis. Results: It was found that nurses' understanding of acceptance, at certain points in time, comes close to the principles and guidelines of the Unified Health System (SUS). Conclusions: Nursing professionals manifest difficulties with the structure, organization and management of health services and express actions and beliefs related to the traditional model of care. The various stakeholders need to join forces if acceptance is to be achieved.

This exploratory and qualitative study sought to investigate how health service users? participation on the Councils of Health centers occurs in the municipality of Botucatu in São Paulo. Data was collected in September and October 2008 via interviews guided by a semi-structured script, administered to 9 service users who are members of the Council at four primary health care centers. After content analysis, three thematic categories emerged: Knowing the service user/councillor, The Health Centers? Council and Participation on the Council. The results show the unpreparedness and lack of knowledge of the councillors representing health service users on the subject of the role of the Councils and on public health policies, evidencing the need for actors from the health services to invest in guidance, consciousness-raising and preparation of citizens with critical ability to influence, guide, demand and question the health services? actions.
