The aim of this study was to evaluate maternal stress and anxiety and the quality of interaction of 10 mothers and their 0-3-month-old babies with Pierre Robin Sequence hospitalized in a university hospital. We used the Inventory of Stress Symptoms for Adults to evaluate stress and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory to assess anxiety of the mothers, and a protocol to assess the recording of the mother-infant interaction. The results showed high levels of maternal stress and anxiety. A statistically significant inverse relationship was found: the higher the maternal anxiety and stress, the lower was the mother-infant interaction. The results indicate that work needs to be done to minimize the anxiety and stress of mothers with inpatient babies in order to encourage interaction.

This paper focuses on the practice of writing in the initial training. The research was conducted from an autobiographical perspective. The instruments used for data collection were the writings produced by me during my participation in the Institutional Scholarship Project Introduction to Teaching (Pibid) and my participation in the extension project Training Group: Dialogue and Otherness, those writings that bring my formative experience as a future teacher. The objectives was to analyze the writings produced by me in these contexts and through this analysis, understand what the issues that I problematized and what knowledge I was building from the experiences lived in the school context and in the university context. In view of understand the writing practices promoted in initial training, I have developed a literature search in the Annals of ENDIPE (National Meeting of Teaching and Teaching Practice) 2008, 2010 and 2012. Objetivo: Examinar o padrão de consumo do tabaco e conhecimentos sobre as doenças relacionadas ao tabaco, assim como identificar os tipos mais populares de mídias entre gestantes para aprimorar estratégias para a prevenção e a cessação do tabagismo entre essas mulheres. Métodos: Estudo transversal com 61 gestantes atendidas em um hospital universitário e em unidades básicas de saúde em Botucatu, SP. A Escala Hospitalar de Ansiedade e Depressão foi aplicada a todas as participantes. Para aquelas com história de tabagismo, também foi aplicado o Teste de Fagerström para Dependência de Nicotina, e foi avaliado o grau de motivação para cessação tabágica nas fumantes. Resultados: Das 61 gestantes avaliadas, 25 (40,9%) eram fumantes (média de idade, 26,4 ± 7,4 anos), 24 (39,3%) eram ex-fumantes (média de idade, 26,4 ± 8,3 anos), e 12 (19,8%) nunca fumaram (média de idade, 25,1 ± 7,2 anos). A exposição passiva foi relatada por 39 gestantes (63,9%). Das 49 fumantes/ex-fumantes, 13 (29,6%) conheciam as consequências pulmonares do tabagismo; somente 2 (4,9%) conheciam os riscos cardiovasculares; 23 (46,9%) acreditavam que fumar não causa nenhum problema para o feto ou o recém-nascido; 21 (42,9%) consumiram álcool durante a gestação; 18 (36,7%) relataram aumento no consumo de cigarros quando bebiam; 25 (51,0%) experimentaram cigarros com sabores; e 12 (24,5%) fumaram narguilé. Entre as 61 gestantes avaliadas, a televisão foi o tipo de mídia mais disponível e favorita (85,2%), assim como a mais preferida (49,2%). Conclusões: Entre gestantes, o fumo ativo, o fumo passivo e o uso de formas alternativas de consumo de tabaco parecem ser altamente prevalentes, e tais mulheres parecem possuir poucos conhecimentos sobre as consequências do uso de tabaco. Programas educacionais que incluam informações sobre as consequências de todas as formas de uso de tabaco, utilizando formatos novos e efetivos para esta população específica, devem ser desenvolvidos para promover a prevenção/cessação do tabagismo entre gestantes. Amostras adicionais para explorar diferenças culturais e regionais são necessárias.

O atletismo, no Brasil, é um esporte pouco divulgado nas aulas de Educação Física. Vários são os motivos apontados para que isso ocorra: falta de material, deficiência de infraestrutura, falta de interesse dos alunos e ausência de um caráter lúdico no ensino das provas. Entretanto, o GEPPA, Grupo de Estudos Pedagógicos e Pesquisa em Atletismo, por meio da pesquisa e extensão universitária, tem se dedicado à difusão e estudo das inúmeras possibilidades de adequação e criação de oportunidades que envolvem seu ensino. Partindo dessa ideia, o grupo desenvolve o Projeto de Extensão Atletismo para Crianças e Jovens na cidade de Rio Claro, que tem, justamente, o intuito de divulgar o atletismo e proporcionar às crianças e jovens da comunidade um contato com essa modalidade esportiva. Constatando-se a eficácia desse Projeto de Extensão, desenvolvido na Unesp-RC, este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso tem como objetivo: promover a pesquisa em torno do atletismo, a fim de evidenciar o panorama da extensão de atletismo no ambiente universitário brasileiro. Para atingir o objetivo proposto, foi desenvolvida uma revisão de literatura que em um primeiro momento abordará os principais problemas que cercam o ensino do atletismo, apontando o papel do profissional de Educação Física no seu ensino; aspectos relacionados à extensão universitária brasileira e à sua relação com o ensino e à pesquisa. Além disso, será realizada uma pesquisa exploratória na internet, em busca de materiais que poderão evidenciar a existência de projetos de extensão de atletismo oferecidos à comunidade, que serão descritos no trabalho a partir das informações coletadas. Com base nos resultados dessa pesquisa esperamos concentrar informações referentes a projetos destinados ao ensino do atletismo no Brasil, tomando como ponto de partida que esse tipo de trabalho de extensão universitária é importantíssimo para a difusão...

The program of diagnosis and prevention of oral cancer of Univag - University Center aims to increase preventive and early oral diseases with emphasis on oral cancer, aiming to reduce the morbidity and mortality through educative actions, spreading of the auto-examination, performed by dental students of UNIVAG since the second half of 2005 to the present day. The dental students of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th semesters were trained using practice-theoretical classes, for realization the exams preventives and diagnostics, such as self-examination, exfoliative cytology and biopsy of oral mucosa, and even present educative actions. Analyzing the preliminary results were observed increase in the number of diagnoses and referral of diagnosed with oral cancer for treatment in referral services. It was concluded that the program of diagnosis and prevention of oral cancer can make possible early diagnosis and adoption of preventive measures, consequently improving survival rates and life quality in population.

To determine the profile of the patients who participated in the program of oral cancer diagnosis and prevention in Mato Grosso, from 2008 to 2009. Materials and Methods: The medical records of the treated patients were examined. Results: 1.293 records were analyzed, with a predominance of female patients (60%) and a greater participation of patients from 10 to 19 years of age (20%). Reports of pre-existing illnesses amounted to 302 recorded cases. In addition, 292 variations of normality could be also identified. During the period, 25 participants were recommended for exfoliative cytology and 133 for biopsy, as they presented oral lesions that raised the suspicion of malignancy. Conclusions: Campaigns to raise awareness of and prevent oral cancer are very important and should be extended to the entire population of the state of Mato Grosso, either by means of the local University Center (UNIVAG), or by other agencies and health institutions.

In general the human breath doesn't have smell or it is so only lightly perceptible to the surrounding ones, varying of pleasant the unpleasant, being taken in consideration the sensibility of the person. Halitosis or bad breath doesn't truly represent a disease, being present in a considerable portion of the population. Ethiologically exist several involved factors, could make an appointment breathing, gastric intestinal, organic and psychic disturbances and mainly oral factors, being the microbial colonization of the tongue the most common, beside the pathological situations involving periodontitis, as necrotizing ulcerative gengivitis. For representing a true obstacle biopsicossocial, the halitosis it influences directally in the family life, work, the patients' atmosphere social, being its diagnosis specific, demanding in certain occasions treatment multidisciplinar. In that sense, the present study if report to a literary revision of the theme, approaching the main aspects of the development of the halitosis, as well as its biological origin and its clinical implications.

This study aims to understand if intellectual work provides conditions for the emergence of psychic suffering inuniversity teachers in a public institution of higher education. Use is made of the philosophical assumptions ofhistorical materialism, work as a category of nuclear analysis of human phenomena, and also the categories ofalienated labor and intellectual work. It also refers to mental illnesses as a social production. The research subjectswere teachers with contracts of employment in exclusive dedication (RDIDP). It is used as an instrument for datacollection, a questionnaire with closed and opened questions of opinative character. Responses were categorized andanalyzed qualitatively and had not intention of giving statistical data. However, in order to better display, the samepercentage of the sample are presented, among which one third (29.6%) have some health problem after enteringuniversity. Of those, 15,5% are related to the organization of work, 5,6% to the working conditions, 2,8%concomitantly to the conditions and the organization of work. The results indicate that the organization of work in apublic university has shown itself as a space of psychic suffering, but also of alienation.

This work is about the extension project “Plastic Research Centre”, developed at Unesp (Bauru/São Paulo/Brasil) by the author along with the students of Artistic Education (Plastic Arts). Aiming to encourage the students on supports and alternative techniques, the Audiovisual and Visual Arts Study Group - GRAVA was created as a place for reflexion and creation. The group has been seeking a personal language, improving it as the means to communicate its interpretation of the world are investigated, being it in the urban space or in cultural and virtual centres. By extending the university knowledge to the local community, it is intended to motivate the student’s research along with the professoriate and promote the creation process and artistic works focusing the group’s view on the context it is inserted.

The world is aging. This subject is becoming more and more present on the communication media. The future journalists must be made aware of this phenomena that involves a important change in the society. One of the ways can be the study of the empowerment and Social Capital Formation techniques, using the new Information and Communication Technologies, or following the example of the Open Universities to the Third Age that are appearing all over the world. In this article we’ll study the case of “Programa Universitario para Mayores” (University Program for the Grown ups), at Seville University (Spain).
