The 2009 Rebuild Iowa Bill: Helping Communities Recoved from the Storms of 2008, January, 2009

Helping families, businesses and communities rebuild after the floods and tornadoes of 2008 remains a top priority. That is why Governor Chet Culver has asked for the first bill sent to him by the Iowa General Assembly in 2009 to be the Rebuild Iowa bill: a $43 million measure, funded from Iowa’s historic cash reserves.

Cigarette and Tobacco Receipts Report, December 2008

This is a report for the Iowa Department of Revenue and Finance about the receipts on cigarettes and tobacco for each month of the year. This receipt is the tax of each sale of cigarettes and tobacco.

Family Development and Self-Sufficiency Program, Annual Report, 2008

Iowa’s Family Development and Self-Sufficiency (FaDSS) Grant Program was created by the 1988 Iowa General Assembly to assist Family Investment Program (FIP) families with significant or multiple barriers reach self-sufficiency. FaDSS provides services that promote, empower, and nurture families towards economic and emotional self-sufficiency. The foundation of FaDSS is regular home visits with families, using a strength-based approach. Core services include support, goal setting, and assessment. Support is given in many ways such as referrals, group activities, linking families to communities and advocacy. Assessment aids the family to identify strengths that they possess that may be used to eliminate barriers to self-sufficiency. Goal setting helps families break down goals that seem out of reach into small steps that will lead to success. Participation in FaDSS is a voluntary option for people receiving Family Investment Program (FIP) benefits.

Iowa Client Assistance Program Annual Report 2008

Annual report for federal fiscal year 2008 submitted to the Rehabilitation Services Administration, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, U.S. Department of Education. This report is requied to be submitted each year by December 31th for the pervious fiscal year as part of the federal grant requirements for the Client Assistance Program grantee in each state. In Iowa, the Client Assistance Program is housed in the Division of Persons with Disabilities, Department of Human Rights and provides information and referral services and advocacy services as outlined under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
