Quais relações estabelecidas entre ensino de química, educação ambiental e o enfoque CTS?: um estado da arte de alguns periódicos nacionais

This work presents results of art state that searched articles to bring in its wake the relationship between Teaching of Chemistry (TC), Environmental Education (EE) and the Teaching of Chemistry directed from the Science Technology and Society (STS) standpoint. The research was carried by articles surveying in major magazines Brazilian Environmental Education and a reference in the research magazine of Science Education, being performed a qualitative analysis of those items that were identified. It was noted that little is produced on the subject of interest within this field, in mid-1998 to June 2012. In the articles analyzed did not find a perspective that allied relationship STS and EE, or EE, STS and TC. Nine articles were found in relation EE and TC, and TC and three articles STS, constituting two thematic axes: Relationship between Environmental Education and the Teaching of Chemistry and Relationship between Science and Technology Society and Chemistry Teaching, The discussion was given from the contents that comprised the categories created. The first axis involved: a) Teacher of Chemistry and EA b) Contents of Chemistry and EE, and c) Concepts and practices of EE Chemistry teachers. The second axis of the categories are: a) formative processes and conceptions of chemistry teachers in STS: b) Analysis of TC practice focusing STS. There were works produced by the same authors, who mostly used the same theme in different magazines for publication only changing the perspective of analyzing the results. Finally, a scenario indicates that restricted thematic research and the need to advance with future work

Diagóstico ambiental de empreendimentos do distrito industrial Antônio Crepaldi – Presidente Prudente/SP

Recently, the environmental concern has grown due to the higher awareness about the availability and the importance of natural resources for survival on the Earth. So, laws and regulations were implemented aiming the environmental preservation. It has being developed new systems, technologies and techniques in order to minimize wastage of resources and minimize waste generation that may cause environmental impacts, in order to abide by the laws and regulations. These techniques and systems have been developed mostly for the industrial sector, because it’s one of the most responsible for the waste generation and impacts. One of the most employed systems is the environmental management, performed during the environmental diagnosis of the area/activity. So, this study aimed the environmental assessment and the establishment of proposals for the mitigation of the most significant environmental impacts generated in five industries of the Antonio Crepaldi industrial district – Presidente Prudente, in order to contribute to environmental issues and provide greater efficiency in the productive process of these industries... O setor sucroalcooleiro no Pontal do Paranapanema: uma análise a partir do licenciamento ambiental

The development of the sugar and alcohol sector and its sugar cane cultivation has been given in an accelerated way in Pontal do Paranapanema, mainly from the last decade, and with this has taken quick changes in the dynamic socio-economic and environmental of the region, further accentuating some conflicts and dilemmas social and environmental legacy. This work was done in order that these issues are further explored, that of moving towards a greater theoretical-scientific maturity, and even has a better apparatus to support measures (corrective or preventive) that show required anti such conflicts. For this purpose, we used the environmental licensing as a means of doing this analysis, since it is one of the main instruments of control/ regulation of the State against the development of activities of the sugar and alcohol sector. We also used a little of the vast potential of information that is contained in the environmental agencies. In this case, we used six Environmental Impact Study / Environmental Impact Report (EIS /EIR), six Preliminary Environmental Reports(PER), five Characterization of Enterprise Memorials (CEM), among other documents /studies present there. Some of the information, organized and made available in this work, has even greater potential to be exploited. Planejamento ambiental do distrito de Ameliópolis – Presidente Prudente - SP

The concern with the environmental planning has become important in Brazil recently. Until then, nature was conceived as a resource, because of the implementation of developmental policies that perdured to the 1970s, based on the expansion of the industrial complex, altogether hadn´t preoccupation by the federal government with the relationship between society and nature. During this period, after the threat of not receiving more international investment to finance large projects in the country, accompanied by pressure from civil society organizations, the federal government began to take some action related to the environment, such as the creation of federal agencies (IBAMA), application of environmental laws and decrees in order to create rules for the proper use of natural resources such as water, soil and air. From the decade of 1990 onwards the master plans have become a mandatory document for all municipalities in the country with a population over 20,000 inhabitants, ranging from health issues to the development of urban, rural and environmental planning. Thus, the environmental planning gained prominence in the political scene. Planejamento ambiental da bacia hidrográfica do córrego Embirí – UGRHI Pontal do Paranapanema – São Paulo: inventário e diagnóstico

This study aimed to contribute to the environmental planning of the watershed Embirí stream - UGRHI Pontal Paranapanema (belonging to the Paranapanema Management unit) in the cities of Presidente Prudente and Regente Feijó, São Paulo. This basin is located in the area of the Santo Anastácio river source, responsible for supplying water to about 30% of the population of Presidente Prudente. The methodological procedures based on Leal (1995) and Rodriguez et al. (2004), and the steps include inventory and diagnosis of the basin. We conducted extensive literature review, cartographic and documentary on the subject area of research, field work, preparation of thematic maps and summary chart of physical units and environmental use and land cover, participatory mapping of environmental risks, quality analysis of water. Most of the basin of the stream of twine had a high environmental fragility and the main problems found were lack of riparian vegetation, erosion, siltation of water bodies, irregular disposal of debris and the dumping of sewage. The results were summarized in the diagnosis and can identify the most important environmental impacts, environmental and spatial weaknesses of the legislation, and thus draw up proposals for action to the area that is substantially degraded

Proposta de elaboração de carta de sensibilidade ambiental aplicada a postos de combustíveis em Rio Claro-SP

Leaking of hydrocarbon in fuel underground storage tanks constitute object of concern for urban environmental management, because therefore they provoke damages to the physical, biological and socioeconomic environment. Though laws that regulate this essential activity exist, aiming at to prevent contamination with hydrocarbon, we observe that this still happens. This fact evidences that the selection of places for installation of gas stations has not considered the characteristics of the natural environment, implying in more critical consequences associated to the leaking. The objective of this work is to elaborate a chart applied to the gas stations in Rio Claro/SP. The determination of the Index of Environmental Sensitivity for elaboration of such chart was carried through breaking the selection of factors of Environmental Sensitivity of physical, biological and socioeconomic environment. The balance of these factors was given by means of Ad hoc consultation. The crossing of the information was carried through using the method of overlapping of overlays. The result is a chart that shows us areas with classes of high, middle and low Environmental Sensitivity. One gives credit that this type of material can be used as criterion in the selection of adjusted areas for installations of new gas stations and management of the already installed gas stations. The diagnosis of the current situation of the gas stations in the area and recommendations had also been elaborated.

Diagnóstico ambiental da área de influência do distrito industrial de Rio Claro - SP

Economic activities, whether large or small, can cause a range of environmental changes, not always reversible, harming society and its quality of life. Many potentially polluting activities have already been installed in various Brazilian cities, just as at the industrial district of Rio Claro / SP, which allow the synthesis of the many environmental impacts. In this sense, this report aims to make an environmental assessment in the influence area of the industrial district of Rio Claro / SP, located in the urban area of the city. As a result, the existence of prior related studies was observed, especially the diagnosis and study of the many implications that arises from activities impacting, and further, there was a demarcation of the influence area of the district and its derivatives impacts in the influence area, the steps of prediction and mitigation measures and if these activities meet the minimum technical requirements in planning and environmental applicable legislation.

A questão cultural no município de Álvares Machado: a importância de políticas públicas no processo de preservação urbano-ambiental

This work analyzes the importance of public policies in the process of urban-environmental preservation of the Alvares Machado city at state of Sao Paulo in Brazil, where priority was given to questions related to cultural heritage. Adopting the concept of territory as base to understand the complexities in the city, this work clarifies and contextualizes the historical heritage legislation through the Master Plan and the City Statute. The work also focuses on the contribution of the geographer toward studies related to urban-environmental planning.

Planejamento ambiental da Bacia Hidrográfica do Córrego da Olga, UGRHI Pontal do Paranapanema – São Paulo: inventário e diagnóstico

This work, presented in order to obtain the environmental engeneer title, is to raise the current status of environmental conditions in the watershed of the stream of Olga and thus contribute to environmental planning for the recovery, conservation and preservation. To this end, we conducted literature surveys and survey of the characteristics of the watershed, analysis of water fron stream of Olga and making use of remote sensingand of the soil, environmental fragiityand spatialization of APPs in order to carry out further research on the environmental conditions of the basin, as well as inferences about possible causes of degradation of watershed.Most of the basin of the stream Olga had a high environmental fargility and the main problem was the lack of riparian vegetation is also considered the cause of environmental problems of the watershed.The results will be available to municipal governments in order to contribute to their planning and management of UGRHI the teh watershed pertence

Planejamento ambiental da bacia do Balneário da Amizade – São Paulo

Esta monografia esta relacionado à pesquisa de iniciação científica inserida no Grupo de Pesquisa em Gestão Ambiental e Dinâmica Socioespacial (GADIS), da Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, UNESP, campus de Presidente Prudente, e vincula-se a projetos mais amplos desenvolvidos com apoio da FAPESP, do CNPq e FEHIDRO. De modo geral, este trabalho possui o objetivo de contribuir para o planejamento ambiental da bacia do Balneário da Amizade, como também para o gerenciamento de seus recursos hídricos, aprofundando conhecimentos teórico-metodológicos sobre o tema. Os procedimentos metodológicos seguem a proposta de Rodriguez (1994) adaptada por Leal (1995), na qual incluem etapas de elaboração do Inventário, Diagnóstico Ambiental, Prognóstico e Propostas, de modo a identificar as características de uso e ocupação da bacia do Balneário da Amizade, mapear seus principais problemas ambientais e elaborar propostas visando sua recuperação ambiental e a preservação de seus recursos hídricos, além de analisar políticas públicas direcionadas para a bacia. A importância desta pesquisa se inicia com a escolha da área de estudo, já que a mesma é uma importante bacia hidrográfica para os municípios de Presidente Prudente e Álvares Machado... Subsídios para implantação de trincheiras de infiltração na área urbana de Rio Claro/SP

The purpose of this work is to study the theme “infiltration trenches” in some of its main aspects, such as sizing methods and parameters related to this, in order to subsidize the installation of these structures in the urban area of Rio Claro/SP. For purposes of sizing, the “rain-envelope method” was used for its simplicity and direct application from the local characterization data and the IDF (intensity-duration-frequency) curve data. The method bases on the determination of the tributary volume of input and output device. The curve of values accumulated over time of the volumes tributaries to the device, which is built on the flow rates obtained from the local IDF curve, is compared with the value curve of his effluent volumes determined from the flow characteristics obtained from the infiltration soil. The maximum difference between the curves is the volume sizing. Five locations were chosen in the urban area of Rio Claro for implementation of these devices, considering the soil type, hydraulic conductivity of each area and lot size according to the Master Plan of Rio Claro. This work also presented an estimated reduction of the runoff in urban lots by using infiltration trenches.

Concepção e Implementação de um Sistema de Controle de Arborização Urbana através da Integração de Softwares Livres e de Código Aberto

Suitable computacional tools allow to build applications that can link information to its physical location, and represent them into visual and interactive schemes, e ectively reaching the power of visual comunication. This leads the user to synthesize information in a simple and e cient way. These applications are linked to the de nition of Geographic Information System (GIS). GIS are comprised by many concepts and tools, which have the main purpose of collecting, storing, viewing and processing spatial data, obtaining the information needed for decision making. Within this context, this paper presents the Conception and Implementation of a Control System for Urban Forestry through Integration of Free and Open Source Software. This conception arose from the need of an Environmental Project developed by the Agriculture's House of the city of Regente Feij o, which has as main objectives cataloging and management of urban a orestation of the municipality. Due to this diversity of concepts, the challenge in building this system is the integration of platforms that are involved in all stages: collecting and storage of data, including maps and other spatial information, operations on the stored information, obtaining results and graphical visualization of the same. After implementation, it was possible to provide for the system users an improvement in the capacity of perception in the information analysis and facilitate the process of decision making
