Northern Area Fisheries Advisory Committee 28th March, 1983

This is the report from the Northern Area Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 28th March, 1983. This is the report from the Central Area Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 30th March, 1983. The report contains sections on Fyke nets and otters, Whirling disease, the decline of Salmon and Sea Trout Catches in Furness and South Cumbria Fisheries Association, spawning tributaries, Langcliffe hatchery, and fisheries activities. The section on Fisheries Activities is reported by the area fisheries officer and includes river conditions and fishing, migratory fish movement, Hatcheries (Middleton hatchery, salmon cages in Dalton and Furness, salmon and sea trout), stocking, fish disease, poaching, management work and prosecutions. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.

Regional Fisheries Advisory Committee 4th March, 1985

This is the report from the Regional Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 4th March, 1985. The report contains sections on Public Water Supplies in West Cumbria, proposals for water supply for British Nuclear Fuels Limited (BNFL), and the proposals for a fish pass at Ennerdale Weir. The section on BNFL looks at the proposal of British Nuclear Fuels Limited to take more water from Wastwater. This section includes information about Wastwater, Calder Valley Boreholes, Mine Water and the River Ehen, and other groundwater investigations. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.

River Gowy and Thornton Brook improvements. Environmental Action Plan March 2000

This is the River Gowy and Thornton Brook improvements: Environmental Action Plan report produced by the Environment Agency in 2000. This Environmental Action Plan relates to the proposals by the Environment Agency to improve the flood defences of land adjacent to the River Gowy, about 3 km east of Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The purpose of the Environmental Action Plan (EAP) is to provide details of how the issues addressed in the Environmental Statement (ES) will be carried through to the completion of the project. The EAP represents a commitment to the environmental recommendations formulated during the environmental assessment process and should be closely adhered to during the design, construction and post project monitoring o f the works. For any matters that cannot be finalised until during construction the constraints will be detailed in the plan so they are implemented in the contracts.
