Un cineasta pintor : Jacques Demy

La inagotable unión de cine y pintura encuentra un maravilloso ejemplo en el cineasta de la Nouvelle Vague francesa: Jacques Demy. Director que da al color un uso primordial en cada una de sus películas, teniendo una importancia fundamental para el desarrollo de la trama y la psicología de los personajes. Este uso simbólico y psicológico del color hace que las reflexiones de Wasili Kandinsky estén presentes en los trabajos del realizador. Y como ejemplo, su fi lm más emblemático: Los paraguas de Cherbourgo, en el que además podemos encontrar claras referencias a pintores como Matisse o Vermeer.

Quelques observations hydrologiques dans la région Cap St. Jacques-Poulo Condore

The authors expose here results obtained from the data-interpretation of two hydrologic lines done by a national expedition for IGY, in 1958, between St. Jacques Cape and Poulo Condore.

La déconstruction de l'onto-théologie par Jacques Derrida : détour littéraire et mise en relief de la matrice langagière comme "différance"

Le mouvement derridien de la différance marque la rupture avec l'affirmation de la métaphysique de la présence, avec l'autorité du signifié transcendantal. Dans cet univers mouvant de signifiants qui se renvoient perpétuellement les uns aux autres, la logique d'univocité se disloque. La "présence" n'est que fantomatique, s'esquissant au sein d'une chaîne ininterrompue de signifiants et se laissant toujours creuser par la marque d'un irréductible manque. Face au logocentrisme, corollaire de l'affirmation de la présence, l'écriture se veut siège et articulation de la trace, d'une origine qui ne peut être que raturée, véhicule d'une irrémédiable fêlure. La volet littéraire de la déconstruction a pour but de mettre en évidence le fonctionnement de l'"indécidabilité" du discours, soit une certaine ambivalence dans la signification qui caractérise tout texte. L'objectif principal de la présente recherche est de fournir une compréhension plus approfondie de la déconstruction en insistant sur l'ancrage langagier de tout texte. Le discours philosophique n'échappe ainsi pas au mécanisme différentiel du langage et de la dérive métaphorique. La parenté entre la perspective déconstructiviste derridienne et la conception mallarméenne du langage poétique semble frappante. La mise en oeuvre, par Mallarmé, d'une dislocation de l'espace textuel, son minutieux "creusement" du vers après renoncement à toute quête d'"Idéal", la mise en relief du leurre de l'appropriation langagière, voilà qui trouve un écho particulier dans les thèses derridiennes. La "mimésis" platonicienne se voit au travers du prisme de la "mimique" mallarméenne. La déconstruction poursuit son travail de "luxation" de l'oreille philosophique, insérant les philosophèmes dans la matrice langagière, les livrant ainsi au hasard du cheminement textuel et les confrontant à l'aporie. La philosophie n'a alors d'autre choix que d'abandonner ses prétentions transcendantales. La marche de la "différance" instaure une inexorable distance qui prive le sujet de tout rapport direct avec une origine assurée et lui ôte toute possibilité de maîtrise sur le monde. Au travers de la langue, se profile la question de l'altérité, de la relation dissymétrique qui nous lie à cet "autre", ce "tout-autre" qui nous fonde et nous constitue. L'accueil inconditionnel de cette altérité nous mènera à l'étude de la "religion", la déconstruction se tournant vers le "religieux" tout en effectuant un "retournement" habile de tout credo essentialiste.

Evaluation du stock de coquilles Saint-Jacques de la Baie de Seine et du Proche Extérieur. COMOR 32 (8-23 juillet 2002)

Scientific scallop surveys called COMOR are carried out in the bay of Seine since 1976. Results are used by fishermen’ associations and by fishing administration to lead management measures. In this report, the scientific results of the survey COMOR 32 realised in July 2002 are described. Abundance and growth indices for scallop, by age and area, are presented. During these surveys, data about most abundant benthic species are also collected since 1998. A first assessment with five years data is made here. A global descriptive analysis is undertaken about all the species present on scallops grounds. A special zoom is applied on both species whitch could be exploited (whelk Buccinum undatum and queen scallop Aequipecten opercularis) and three competitive species (starfish Asterias rubens, American slipper-limpet Crepidula fornicata and brittle star Ophiothrix fragilis)

Programme de recherche pour la mise au point d'une méthode d'élevage de coquilles Saint-Jacques en Méditerranée. Rapport d'avancement des travaux, résultats obtenus en écloserie en 1989 et au cours du premier semestre 1990

Au cours de la période considérée, il a été effectué 4 cycles d'élevage larvaire complets et 5 cycles d'élevage post-larvaire matérialisant une importante évolution quantitative par rapport aux deux années antérieures du programme. Le protocole, décrit dans le rapport d'avancement des travaux 1988, n'a pas subi d'aménagements majeurs saufen matière de conditionnement des géniteurs. Malgré les progrès réalisés dans la production de larves "D" et en survie larvaire, il n'a pas été possible d'obtenir un nombre de post-larves significatif de Pecten jacobaeus pour cause de mortalité à la fixation. En revanche, un essai mené en parallèle à partir de pédivéligères de Pecten maximus, originaires d'Argenton, s'est soldé par l'obtention de près de 30.000 naissains dans des conditions de rendement satisfaisants. Enfin, le suivi mensuel de l'indice gonadique de la population naturelle de Pecten jacobaeus, associé à un examen histologique des gonades pendant une année, a permis de préciser pour la première fois en Méditerranée française le cycle de reproduction, ainsi que la période optimale de réponse à un stimuli de déclenchement de ponte.

Dimensión pedagógica de la obra de Jacques-Martin Hotteterre (1674-1763): estudio analítico e implicaciones educativas para una práctica interpretativa en el estilo, a la luz de su tratado y su producción musical

Este trabajo de investigación se desarrolla en el seno de un conjunto de hechos y determinaciones que –desde la segunda mitad del siglo XX-, emergen con intensidad en los ámbitos europeo y nacional, en torno a la consolidación de la música en todos los niveles de los sistemas de educación y formación. De forma significativa, en los niveles obligatorios, post-obligatorios conforme a los procesos de homogenización, transparencia, y en los superiores en función de la convergencia, la transferencia y la movilidad, desde la propuesta del Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior (EEES). Se inscribe en el marco de la orientación cultural de la enseñanza, del reto del desarrollo competencial y profesional, de la afirmación de los materiales de enseñanza como elementos genéricos de la calidad de la educación. Tiene como objeto de estudio los rasgos, características y cualidades de la cualidad del Tratado de Jacques-Martin Hotteterre (1674-1763), Principes de la flute travesière, ou flute d’allemagne. De la flute a bec, ou flute douce, et du haut.- bois, Divizez par Traitéz (Paris, 1707). Un objeto de estudio configurado en el contexto institucional de los Conservatorios Profesionales y Superiores, en donde se ha incorporado la Música Antigua a la Educación musical y se ha vinculado la enseñanza de la interpretación musical con instrumentos antiguos, como son la flauta de pico y el traverso barroco...

Há bastante tempo que não te escrevo, mas não sei a razão. Notas acerca acerca da escrita como envio em Vergílio Ferreira e Jacques Derrida

Caracterizado muitas vezes e talvez algo injustamente como um escritor que publicou sobretudo romances de ideias, expressão que não deixa de ser equívoca, é indiscutível que a obra de Vergílio Ferreira, nas suas múltiplas dimensões, transita frequentemente entre os territórios classicamente definidos como literatura e filosofia. Por isso, é habitual associar-se alguns dos seus romances, nomeadamente aquele que tem por cenário a cidade de Évora (Aparição, 1959), ao existencialismo sartriano. Essa colagem merece ainda assim ser questionada. Até porque, noutros passos da sua obra, Vergílio discute longa e pertinentemente algumas teses do autor de L’Être et le Néant (cf., por exemplo, as páginas 128-138, escritas precisamente em Évora, do Diário Inédito, 2010). Menos referida é, contudo, a relação que os escritos de Vergílio têm com outro filósofo francês, Jacques Derrida. Essa relação não é, com certeza, de circunstância. Aliás, deve-se a Vergílio aquela que é, seguramente, uma das primeiras tentativas de traduzir para a língua portuguesa a famosa expressão cunhada por Derrida: différance (cf. Espaço do Invisível II, 1976, pp. 82-83). A presente comunicação visa pôr em diálogo dois livros de Vergílio Ferreira que estão, como se sabe, intimamente vinculados entre si – Para Sempre (1983) e a Cartas para Sandra (1996) – com a matriz teórica derridiana, designadamente com as suas concepções de escrita, de destinação e até de destinerrância. Fá-lo-á sobretudo a partir de La Carte Postale – de Socrate à Freud et au-delà (1980), obra singular no próprio trajecto do filósofo francês em que se mesclam o diário e a ficção, a teoria e o género epistolar.

Fast reconstruction of aerodynamic shapes using evolutionary algorithms and virtual Nash strategies in a CFD design environment

This paper compares the performances of two different optimisation techniques for solving inverse problems; the first one deals with the Hierarchical Asynchronous Parallel Evolutionary Algorithms software (HAPEA) and the second is implemented with a game strategy named Nash-EA. The HAPEA software is based on a hierarchical topology and asynchronous parallel computation. The Nash-EA methodology is introduced as a distributed virtual game and consists of splitting the wing design variables - aerofoil sections - supervised by players optimising their own strategy. The HAPEA and Nash-EA software methodologies are applied to a single objective aerodynamic ONERA M6 wing reconstruction. Numerical results from the two approaches are compared in terms of the quality of model and computational expense and demonstrate the superiority of the distributed Nash-EA methodology in a parallel environment for a similar design quality.

Evolutionary optimisation methods with uncertainty for modern multidisciplinary design in aeronautical engineering

One of the new challenges in aeronautics is combining and accounting for multiple disciplines while considering uncertainties or variability in the design parameters or operating conditions. This paper describes a methodology for robust multidisciplinary design optimisation when there is uncertainty in the operating conditions. The methodology, which is based on canonical evolution algorithms, is enhanced by its coupling with an uncertainty analysis technique. The paper illustrates the use of this methodology on two practical test cases related to Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). These are the ideal candidates due to the multi-physics involved and the variability of missions to be performed. Results obtained from the optimisation show that the method is effective to find useful Pareto non-dominated solutions and demonstrate the use of robust design techniques.

The phenomenology of utopia : reimagining the political

This thesis argues that the end of Soviet Marxism and a bipolar global political imaginary at the dissolution of the short Twentieth Century poses an obstacle for anti-systemic political action. Such a blockage of alternate political imaginaries can be discerned by reading the work of Francis Fukuyama and "Endism" as performative invocations of the closure of political alternatives, and thus as an ideological proclamation which enables and constrains forms of social action. It is contended that the search through dialectical thought for a competing universal to posit against "liberal democracy" is a fruitless one, because it reinscribes the terms of teleological theories of history which work to effect closure. Rather, constructing a phenomenological analytic of the political conjuncture, the thesis suggests that the figure of messianism without a Messiah is central to a deconstructive reframing of the possibilities of political action - a reframing attentive to the rhetorical tone of texts. The project of recovering the political is viewed through a phenomenological lens. An agonistic political distinction must be made so as to memorialise the remainders and ghosts of progress, and thus to gesture towards an indeconstructible justice which would serve as a horizon for the articulation of an empty universal. This project is furthered by a return to a certain phenomenology inspired by Cornelius Castoriadis, Claude Lefort, Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Ernesto Laclau. The thesis provides a reading of Jacques Derrida and Walter Benjamin as thinkers of a minor universalism, a non-prescriptive utopia, and places their work in the context of new understandings of religion and the political as quasi-transcendentals which can be utilised to think through the aporias of political time in order to grasp shards of meaning. Derrida and Chantal Mouffe's deconstructive critique and supplement to Carl Schmitt's concept of the political is read as suggestive of a reframing of political thought which would leave the political question open and thus enable the articulation of social imaginary significations able to inscribe meaning in the field of political action. Thus, the thesis gestures towards a form of thought which enables rather than constrains action under the sign of justice.

UAS mission path planning system (MPPS) using hybrid-game coupled to multi-objective optimiser

This paper presents the application of advanced optimization techniques to unmanned aerial system mission path planning system (MPPS) using multi-objective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs). Two types of multi-objective optimizers are compared; the MOEA nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II and a hybrid-game strategy are implemented to produce a set of optimal collision-free trajectories in a three-dimensional environment. The resulting trajectories on a three-dimensional terrain are collision-free and are represented by using Bézier spline curves from start position to target and then target to start position or different positions with altitude constraints. The efficiency of the two optimization methods is compared in terms of computational cost and design quality. Numerical results show the benefits of adding a hybrid-game strategy to a MOEA and for a MPPS.

Uncertainty based MDO of UAS using HAPMOEA

CFD has been successfully used in the optimisation of aerodynamic surfaces using a given set of parameters such as Mach numbers and angle of attack. While carrying out a multidisciplinary design optimisation one deals with situations where the parameters have some uncertain attached. Any optimisation carried out for fixed values of input parameters gives a design which may be totally unacceptable under off-design conditions. The challenge is to develop a robust design procedure which takes into account the fluctuations in the input parameters. In this work, we attempt this using a modified Taguchi approach. This is incorporated into an evolutionary algorithm with many features developed in house. The method is tested for an UCAV design which simultaneously handles aerodynamics, electromagnetics and maneuverability. Results demonstrate that the method has considerable potential.
