Estudo de dormentes de aço sob solicitações verticais, longitudinais e transversais em via permanente ferroviária

This article presents the results of research conducted on full-scale models, studying the behavior of steel sleepers under the action of static loads, in vertical, longitudinal and transverse directions. For the research models were run with rails TR-68, fixed with elastic system on seven sleepers each type, separately, embedded in standard ballast with 35 cm height and on the basis of compacted soil with 30 cm thick. For the load tests were constructed using reaction systems of vertical and horizontal forces with the objective of applying the requests. The system of readings and data acquisition was fully computerized, obtaining in real time the values of forces and displacements. The results were compared with those installed in the same way with sleepers of wood, mono-block and bi-block prestressed concrete. The analyzed results provided unprecedented parameters in Brazil and of great importance for the design of modern railway permanent way, using steel sleepers.

José Marques de Melo e os estudos científicos da folkcomunicação

This paper aims some academic contributions of José Marques de Melo for the study and propagation of Folkcomunication Theory, developed by Luiz Beltrão, in 1967, in his PhD thesis. Marques de Melo, disciple of Beltrão, is one of the most representative names on the set of international scientific studies of communication. Divided in three parts, this text covers theoretical contributions (conception and classification of genders, formats and types of taxonomy of Folkcomunication); dialogues with other thinkers (McLuhan, Morin and Freire) and empirical contribution (internet as a Folk tool). We emphasize that the contributions of Marques de Melo are fundamentals for the new generations to understand the importance of the Folkcomunication and see it as a complex communicational system.

Based on the theories of the artist, intends to investigate how their own texts read his plastic production, heavily influenced by German Expressionism. The concernment of the research is in the approach how their publications favor the understanding of artistic making as a moment against the intuitive and the fullness of the original creation and true to the thought of the artist.

A questão da experiência estética nos debates de epistemologia da comunicação

In the outline of communication epistemology, the article discusses the fluid and complex delimitations of the field of social communication and its intersections with the world of aesthetics. It includes the question of aesthetic experience and its presence in the epistemological debates on communication in Brazil. It tries to identify possible contributions of the phenomenology of aesthetic experience, based upon the teachings of Mikel Dufrenne and the theoretical references proposed by John Dewey, Paul Valéry, Luigi Pareyson and Jacques Rancière, to the studies on communication. To contextualize the articulations between communication and aesthetics in the debates developed in the Working Group on Communication Epistemology, the article briefly explores the works that discussed that intersection over the last ten years.

In heterogeneous catalysis, numerous elements such as titanium and iron have been studied as nanoscale catalysts, but little is known about the use of niobium in nanocatalysis. The nanostructured particles have intrinsic and different physicochemical characteristics with great potential for use in industrial scale. Brazil having the largest known worldwide niobium reserve has the great challenge of creating pioneering technologies with the metal. Biodiesel is an alternative fuel and renewable substitute for regular diesel. Being biodegradable, non-toxic and have CO2 emissions lower than regular diesel, it contributes to the environment and to the independence from oil. The aim of this work was initially synthesize nanoscale particles of niobium pentoxide (Nanospheres, nanorods, nanofibers, nanocubes) from the sol-gel technique. The characterization of different nanoscale structures obtained was performed using different analytical techniques such as x-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The synthesized nanometer niobium oxide will be used as a heterogeneous catalyst in biodiesel synthesis from commercial soybean oil, checking in detail what the effect of morphology is presented (Nanospheres, nanorods, nanofibers, nanocubes) in the yield of biodiesel synthesis, comparing these results with those already described in literature for the amorphous niobium oxide and other oxide catalysts. Mapeamento de estudos brasileiros sobre hábitos saudáveis na escola: um recorte dos estudos sobre atividade física e hábitos alimentares

Pesquisas apontam que 15% das crianças brasileiras, entre 5 e 9 anos, são obesas. Os fatores indicados como responsáveis desse cenário são a má alimentação e a falta de exercício físico. Hábitos como alimentação saudável e prática de atividades físicas são, em sua maioria, constituídos na infância, principalmente em crianças com idade escolar e tendem a estender para a vida adulta. Considerando que as crianças passam mais de um terço de sua infância na escola, acredita-se que esse ambiente seja um facilitador para a mudança do comportamento saudável dos alunos. Este estudo tem por objetivo realizar um levantamento de pesquisas sobre aquisição de hábitos saudáveis na escola, mapeando a produção no campo da Educação Física, com ênfase em intervenções sobre atividade física e hábitos alimentares. Foi realizada uma revisão da produção de conhecimentos em teses e dissertações bem como da publicação de artigos em periódicos nacionais e internacionais publicados entre os anos de 2004 até 2014, com os seguintes descritores e variações destes: educação física, hábitos saudáveis, escola. Foram consultadas as seguintes bases de dados: Banco Digital de Teses e Dissertações, Banco de Teses da Capes e Bireme. Com resultado foram encontradas 27 teses e dissertações, sendo apenas sete pertencentes a Educação Física, das quais três apresentavam intervenção. Quanto aos artigos, entre os sete recuperados, apenas dois apresentam intervenções com interfaces nas aulas de Educação Física. Em termos de impacto, os resultados dessas intervenções variam de baixo à efetivo, sendo que apenas um dos trabalhos apresenta um resultado efetivamente positivo. Dessa forma pode-se perceber o baixo número de publicações sobre a temática na área da Educação Física, além da existência de barreiras para um resultado positivo nessas intervenções.
