Using a synthesis of the functional integral and operator approaches we discuss the fermion-buson mapping and the role played by the Bose field algebra in the Hilbert space of two-dimensional gauge and anomalous gauge field theories with massive fermions. In QED, with quartic self-interaction among massive fermions, the use of an auxiliary vector field introduces a redundant Bose field algebra that should not be considered as an element of the intrinsic algebraic structure defining the model. In anomalous chiral QED, with massive fermions the effect of the chiral anomaly leads to the appearance in the mass operator of a spurious Bose field combination. This phase factor carries no fermion selection rule and the expected absence of Theta-vacuum in the anomalous model is displayed from the operator solution. Even in the anomalous model with massive Fermi fields, the introduction of the Wess-Zumino field replicates the theory, changing neither its algebraic content nor its physical content. Conservation laws in gravitational theories with diffeomorphism and local Lorentz symmetry are studied. Main attention is paid to the construction of conserved currents and charges associated with an arbitrary vector field that generates a diffeomorphism on the spacetime. We further generalize previous results for the case of gravitational models described by quasi-invariant Lagrangians, that is, Lagrangians that change by a total derivative under the action of the local Lorentz group. The general formalism is then applied to the teleparallel models, for which the energy and the angular momentum of a Kerr black hole are calculated. The subsequent analysis of the results obtained demonstrates the importance of the choice of the frame.

In this paper we study codimension-one Hopf bifurcation from symmetric equilibrium points in reversible equivariant vector fields. Such bifurcations are characterized by a doubly degenerate pair of purely imaginary eigenvalues of the linearization of the vector field at the equilibrium point. The eigenvalue movements near such a degeneracy typically follow one of three scenarios: splitting (from two pairs of imaginary eigenvalues to a quadruplet on the complex plane), passing (on the imaginary axis), or crossing (a quadruplet crossing the imaginary axis). We give a complete description of the behaviour of reversible periodic orbits in the vicinity of such a bifurcation point. For non-reversible periodic solutions. in the case of Hopf bifurcation with crossing eigenvalues. we obtain a generalization of the equivariant Hopf Theorem.

We show that the Hardy space H¹ anal (R2+ x R2+) can be identified with the class of functions f such that f and all its double and partial Hubert transforms Hk f belong to L¹ (R2). A basic tool used in the proof is the bisubharmonicity of |F|q, where F is a vector field that satisfies a generalized conjugate system of Cauchy-Riemann type.

This paper deals with a class of singularly perturbed reversible planar vector fields around the origin where the normal hyperbolicity assumption is not assumed. We exhibit conditions for the existence of infinitely many periodic orbits and hetero-clinic cycles converging to singular orbits with respect to the Hausdorf distance. In addition, generic normal forms of such singularities are presented.

We consider a gauge model based on a SU(3)XU(1) symmetry in which the lepton number is violated explicitly by charged scalar and gauge bosons, including a vector field with double electric
