“Imaginarios de belleza en estudiantes de Educación Física de la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (UPN) Centro Valle de Tenza (CVT)” tiene como propósito describir los imaginarios de los estudiantes acerca del cuerpo y la Educación Física en su relación con la belleza. Esta investigación muestra cómo el cuerpo de los estudiantes es objeto de discursos hegemónicos por parte de la publicidad y los medios de comunicación. Así mismo, evidencia la importancia de formar futuros licenciados en Educación Física que asuman de forma crítica las problemáticas de la educación del cuerpo contemporáneo.

Consensus and personified conflicts: representations of elderly care issues in Swedish newspapers Elderly care issues are commonly framed in public discourse. In mass media the representations of such issues are influenced by media logic. The purpose of this paper is to describe and analyse how elderly care issues were represented in three Swedish newspapers during the first half of 2007. How were the problems characterized? How were different actors characterized and which roles were they assigned? How are conflicts of interests described? Finally, we aim to discuss how media contribute to an understanding of the complexity of elderly care as a whole. Taken together, the articles do not provide a coherent picture. However, costs, quality of care and demographic issues were common themes. The elderly were commonly represented in personal narratives about problems that occurred when they needed elderly care. The elderly in the future are projected as more active and demanding than the elderly today. The care workers were active voices in discussions about working conditions, but absent in discussions about their education and professional identity, which was an issue commonly advocated by politicians. Many issues were represented as conflicts between the individual elderly and the care system or between care workers and their employers. More elaborated discussions about how to prioritize between different needs and demands were rare. This can be seen as examples of how the media tends to use personification, simplification and polarization as means to tell interesting stories.

Crianças, jovens e literatura: produto de pesquisa patrocinada pelo INEP-INL/FNLIJ

A impressão que se tem é de que o hábito de leitura está Desaparecendo. O próprio McLuhan, no entanto, afirma que "os valores associados à palavra escrita e impressa devem constituir uma parte permanente da herança humana". Mais importante do que discutir sobre o desaparecimento ou a transformação do livro é investigar o que está ocorrendo, nesta sociedade em mudança, com as novas gerações, em relação à leitura em geral e às obras literárias em especial. O problema pesquisado foi expresso na seguinte pergunta: "Quais os comportamentos apresentados pelos alunos do ensino de 1º. grau do Município do Rio de Janeiro no que se refere à leitura de obras literárias infantis e juvenis"? Para responder à questão, procedeu-se à caracterização: dos alunos quanto à leitura; dos ambientes doméstico e escolar no que se referia a incentivo à leitura; das oportunidades de acesso ao livro oferecidas pelas bibliotecas livrarias. A metodologia adotada foi elaborada especialmente para o estudo e pode ser sujeita a controvérsias. Os alunos demonstraram estar lendo obras literárias infanto-juvenis em quantidade insuficiente, apresentando os quadrinhos o maior índice de consumo. Pareciam encontrar-se em estágios de leitura defasados em relação às etapas de desenvolvimento em que provavelmente se encontravam. Presume-se que sofreram influência poderosa dos meios de comunicação de massa. Os ambientes doméstico e escolar, em maioria, não pareceram oferecer as condições desejáveis de estímulo à leitura. As bibliotecas eram em número demasiado insuficiente para atender à clientela real e potencial existente. Nas livrarias, geralmente, não se notou preocupação maior com o atendimento a crianças e jovens. Constatou-se relacionamento entre a formação de hábitos de leitura/interesse em ler dos alunos e: (a) características do lar e da escola; (b) oportunidades de acesso ao livro. Pareceu identificar-se uma situação de depreciação da literatura escrita a par de crescente penetração dos "mass-media”, supondo-se representar tendência universal, decorrente do atual estágio cultural da humanidade. Apresentam-se sugestões (devidamente operacionalizadas), que representam meios atenuantes das deficiências identificadas e subsídios à política do livro, visando ao desenvolvimento de uma programação integrada de incentivo à leitura infanto-juvenil, a níveis de consumo, produção e difusão de obras.

A cultura corporal na mídia: possibilidades pedagógicas para a educação física escolar

The Physical education has as objective the students integration in the body movement culture, forming citizens to reframe different cultural aspects of the physical activity, enabling a more critical look. Currently selecting how the body movement culture has been widely approached by Mass Media it is detected a new pedagogical possibility. The several media equipment massively bomb (images, sounds and information) interfering on how the students interpret the reality, since they are exposed to these multiple information and at the same time are absent of a more critical look about what they receive. In this way, the objective of this work was to perform a research in the news/articles from the Jornal A Folha de São Paulo, that allows the development of classes based on the elements of body movement culture and apply them in a public school from Rio Claro-SP city, to detect possibilities and difficulties in the work with the media in the school environment. It employed a qualitative research. The data obtained in this study indicate that the media shows up as a good teaching tool for teaching physical education classes, since students found the classes to enriching the learning process, highlighting topics such as innovation and the closeness they had with the worked information. However, it is necessary to develop further studies to raise other possibilities as well as alternatives to deal with this new reality of the school context

This article conducted an analysis of Portal Brazil, specifically in the areas of “Education” and “Economy and Employment”, by according to the principles of e-engagement defined by the Organization for Economic Co- operation and Development (OECD). For understanding of this work, were elucidated concepts such as public communication - trajectory, principles and relations -, digital democracy, e-government and engagement and civic participation. The mass media have a decisive function in formation of opinion and conduct of population. Among those, the television is a vehicle with great power of spread of information. The objective this study is to analyze the influence of media on occurrences regarding the aggressiveness some participants involved in event soccer, while spectators. The subject's attitude is determined by predominant factors, among them the influences of social and cultural way in that lives, as well as, of the education and sporting influences that it affects. The problem of violence in the sport, in the case of soccer, it cannot be addressed for total responsibility of media. However, collaboration is indispensable, for aspect positive and/or negative, depending on the interest in subject. The models of behavior in television could influence the spectator's behavior for a learning process, for example, the use of the language. Therefore, it is indispensable to rethink the roads of television, their ethical conducts and to discuss the philosophical sense of the crisis. Because, to reject the mass media is to deny the reality and social transformations. The extent of the Physical education, above all in the school, is a fundamental space for the teacher to intermediate the meaning of the sport, in this case, the soccer-spectacle, in social context and their relationships with the media, enlarging the process civilization, so much inside as out of field.
