Rzecz jako przepustka. Samotna ucieczka z Ravensbrück

Item as a pass: Lonely escape from Ravensbrück, in: B. Walęciuk-Dejneka (ed.) Patterns of women’s loneliness – maidens, widows, divorced, Kraków, pp. 77-86. This research represents a case study of Eugenia Kocwa's escape from Ravensbrück concentration camp in 1944, in which she was incarcerated for her activity in the resistance movement in 1941. Flights from the camps belonged to an extremely rare instances and almost always would have taken a form of group organized break-outs with an additional support from the outer world. The analyzed phenomenon is the only successful individual escape from Ravensbrück, and deserves therefore meticulous attention. In the analysis author lays strong emphasis on a material aspect of the escape and objects incorporated into it, which properly managed, had a decisive influence on fugitive's success. The article is based on testimonies of Eugenia Kocwa and other Ravensbrück prisoners, and adopts theoretical framework of Erving Goffman's total institutions and dramaturgical model

S.P.O.T.: Sensações, paixões, ódios e taras - a vida em palco: Relatório de estágio em assistência de encenação do espectáculo

Este estágio permitiu-me reflectir sobre questões fundamentais para a minha formação em Dramaturgia e Encenação. A capacidade de trabalho e coordenação requeridas a um encenador tomaram-se preocupações concretas no meu trabalho. Ter a noção de todos os elementos a ter em conta para criar um espectáculo permitiu-me compreender a importância individual de cada um, bem como a minúcia da harmonização entre eles. Esta viagem começa na origem e compreensão do texto, passando pela análise do trabalho do encenador, e culminando na observação da evolução do meu trabalho. Executar o que até agora apenas conhecia das linhas escritas por Peter Brook, Artaud, Stanislavki, António Damásio e Erving Goffman, entre outros, significa levantar um véu e ver com os meus olhos as texturas que compõem a arte do Teatro. ABSTRACT: This training period opened the field for broader reflection on fundamental issues related to Dramatology and Staging Techniques. The skills acquired, the coordination, and the endurance demanded from a stage director showed the actual dimension of the whole that one must consider when creating a show. namely. by understanding the importance of each and every individual on stage as well as the difficult minute details necessary to develop a sense of harmony with different parts. My voyage starts with the work, ending with the criticism of my own work. With practical staging experience - unveiling the most significant textures in the art of Theatre - I fully realized the writing of authors such as Brook. Artaud. Stanislavski, Damacio and Goffman.

Ett existentiellt limbotillstånd : Livsberättelser från en utvisningsdömd och frihetsberövad asylsökande

I min uppsats har jag genom en öppen och ostrukturerad intervju ämnat beskriva en persons erfarenheter och livsberättelser som utvisningsdömd och frihetsberövad asylsökande. Även fast hela personens liv omfattas i intervjun, har ett särskilt fokus legat på teman som berör personens bakgrund, hans resa från hemlandet, tiden i förvar samt hans nuvarande livssituation. I författandet av uppsatsen har jag använt mig av en narrativ metod med en livsberättelseansats, där de teoretiska och begreppsliga utgångpunkterna har varit: Anthony Giddens teorier kring modernitet och självidentitet. Erving Goffmans teorier kring stigma, social identitet och totala institutioner. Guy Standings och Isabell Loreys prekariatteorier. Uppsatsens resultat visar bland annat på att förvarstiden är psykiskt påfrestande vilket i informantens fall tydligast manifesterar sig genom en ständigt närvarande tristess. En tristess framkallad av identiskt utformade dagar innehållandes oföränderliga fysiska miljöer. Vad gäller tillvaron som asylsökande så präglas den första tiden av lättnad som sedan successivt övergår i känslor av frustration och väntan. En väntan och frustration som bottnar i ett liv av innehållslöshet, stagnation och nervositet. Resultatet visar även på att informanten upplever en viss misstro gentemot myndigheterna då han i kontakten med dessa ibland upplevt sig bli orättvist beskylld som kriminell eller som en lögnaktig snyltgäst. Under den period informantenen levde som illegal invandrare i Sverige upplevde han att han höll på att tappa kontrollen över sitt liv. Detta då för att han varken hade rättsliga möjligheter att stanna kvar i Sverige, samtidigt som resan tillbaka till hemlandet skulle innebära en potentiellt livshotande situation. Tillvaron som illegal invandrare innebar en känsla av att livet stannat upp och lagts på is, vilket kan liknas med en typ av existentiellt limbotillstånd. Förutom den bristande tillgången till fri rörlighet och resurser förspilldes även värdefull levnadstid som informanten upplever sig ha kunnat förvalta på ett mer konstruktivt sätt.

El alineamiento modal en el preámbulo de reuniones por videoconferencia

En el presente artículo se introduce el concepto de alineamiento modal, un fenómeno interactivo característico del preámbulo de reuniones por videoconferencia, en las que la interacción puede llevarse a cabo a través del chat escrito, la imagen y la voz. Con tal propósito, se parte del modelo de interacción de Erving Goffman y la metodología del Análisis de la Conversación (AC). A través de una selección de ejemplos extraídos de un corpus de dieciocho interacciones por Adobe Connect 7.0, el análisis muestra que la selección del canal, dentro del contexto analizado, constituye un recurso para el alineamiento y la (re)configuración del marco de participación de las reuniones. Asimismo, se sugiere que dicho recurso es utilizado por los participantes como estrategia para gestionar la orientación recíproca y la toma de turno durante los preámbulos.

To fight evil or promote good: Four organizational perspectives on individuals inviolent environments and prevention work around them. The purpose of this article is to examine organizational understandings and perceptions that can affect the current work with defectors from and members in violent and extremist environments. The empirical material consists primarily of answers to open questions in a survey, where professionals from four organizations are represented: social services, school, police and politics. The material is analyzed with direct qualitative content analysis and shows two contradict approaches to the problem; one that argues for ”fighting the evil” and another that argues for ”promoting the good”. The theoretical framework presented is Erving Goffmans’ frame analysis, Howard S. Beckers’ labelling process and Ingrid Sahlins’ discussion about different kinds of prevention strategies. The results show how organizational understandings and perceptions are far from uniform but rather disparate, and also that assumptions made by professionals have wide implications – often related to morally based approaches grounded on notions of good and evil.

Person, persona

Person and persona are presented as conceptually at opposite ends of a spectrum. Person describes the internal dimensions of the self, while persona identifies the external and public presentations of the self. The article explores these ideas of person and public persona from their theoretical origins in media and communication research and how they are challenged and shifted by the way various communication technologies are used and deployed in contemporary culture.
