In this paper, we analyze the theoretical work of Renaud Barbaras, departing from his proposal to highlight and develop the potential of Husserl's theory of perception, based on the doctrine of perceptive donation according to profiles. We mainly focused on his work entitled Desire and distance: introduction to a phenomenology of perception. We underline the description, operated by the author, about the vital movement as desire and the characterization of the subject of the perception as living. In this condition, the formulation about the priority of a dimension emerges, qualified by Barbaras as pulsion towards the objectifying dimension of classical epistemology in the subject-object relation. We indicate that, according to the author, these rearrangements entail the need to consider the body, perception and movement based on the category of life.

This work analyzed the loss of sensible heat from one fluid to be considered homogeneous heat distribution on a thermal reservoir with cylindrical geometries composite insulating layers. We studied two thermal reservoirs with a volume of 20 liters, and the first has a layer thickness of 75 mm of expanding polyurethane foam wrapped in the polycarbonate container and the second container has only layer thickness of 5 mm of polycarbonate, as insulation of fluid of the external environment. The experimental results are compared with theoretical results obtained through a calculation script, displayed and detailed during the work development, from the theory of energy balance. The maximum error introduced between the theoretical and experimental results were 3.5% and 1.4% respectively for the Boilers with or without a polyurethane coating

In this work, air dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) operating at two different frequencies (60 Hz and 17 kHz) was used to improve surface properties of polypropylene (PP). The changes in surface hydrophilicity were investigated by contact angle measurements. The modifications in chemical composition of PP surface were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The PP roughness were analyzed before and after the DBD treatment using atomic force microscopy (AFM). In order to compare the results obtained at different frequencies, the analyses are presented as a function of the deposited energy density. The results show that both DBD treatments led to formation of low-molecular weight oxidized material (LMWOM). It tends to agglomerate into small mounts on the surface, as shown by AFM analyses. These structures are weakly bounded to the surface and can be easily removed by rinsing in polar solvents. After washing the DBD-treated samples, the PP partially recovers its original wetting characteristics. This suggests that oxidation also occurred at deeper and more permanent levels on the PP samples. Comparing both DBD treatments, the 17 kHz process was found to be more efficient in introducing oxygen groups to the PP surface

In this paper, we circumscribe a domain of theoretical research on the combination dynamics between the dimensions of presence and absence, visibility and invisibility, which emerges in the phenomenology of perception as an essential trait which marks both our experience of the perceived world and our subjective and intersubjective experience. We prioritize a theoretical axis that integrates Edmund Husserl and Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s thinking into Renaud Barbaras’ recent contributions. To this philosophical framework, we link contributions especially of psychology, outlining the circular movement observed between the phenomenology of perception and phenomenological psychology, Gestalt psychology, psychoanalysis, cognitive sciences and neurosciences.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the possibility to obtaining guided bone regeneration utilizing a nonporous PTFE barrier in the osseointegrated implants, protruding from the bone level of the rabbit tíbia. The histologic characteristics of the interface between titanium implants, one group titanium-plasma coated, another group with acid-treated surfaces and the regenerated bone were also studied Twenty Screw-Vent implants were placed in tibias of five rabbits, two at the right side and two at the left side, protruding 3 mm from the bone level, to create a horizontal bone defect. ln the experimental side, the implants and adjacent bone were protected with a nonporous PTFE barrier. Histologic analysis after three months showed that all implants were in direct contact with the bane. Histologic measurements showed an average gain in bone height of the 2.15 and 2.42 mm for the barrier group and 1.95 and 0.43 mm for the control defects, in the titanium plasma-spray and acid-treated implant surfaces, respectively. The results suggest that the placement of implants protruding 3 mm from crestal bone defects may result in vertical bone augmentation and the regenerated bone is able to osseointegrate implants. lt seems to be critical the use of the PTFE barrier when acid-treated surface implants are inserted

This article is part of a study that seeks to understand the main barriers to the inclusion of visually impaired students in learning Physics. Analyzing modern physics classes, we examine the difficulties in communication between teachers and visually impaired students. Our study emphasizes the analyses of empiricalsensory and semantic structures of speech, indicating factors that may hamper students’ understanding in the classroom. We recommend alternative procedures that aim to facilitate the effective participation of students with visual impairment in the communication process, such as: elimination of the interdependent audiovisual structure and the exploration of the communicational potentialities of a speech based on empirical structures whose accessibility does not depend on visual skills.
