A baseline survey for the project which had been conducted in 2009 had gaps that could not allow assessment of project performance in the outcome and impact indicators to be made. This study was, therefore, commissioned to reconstruct the baseline data, aligned to the impact and outcome indicators on the project logframe and results framework, against which project achievements could be assessed. The purpose and scope of the study was to reconstruct the baseline data and analysis describing the situation prior to QAFM Project inception, taking 2008 as the baseline year, which was aligned to the project logframe outcome and impact indicators; to collect data on current status to compare project outcome (and where possible impact) in improved fish handling sites in comparison with the baseline as well as with comparable non-improved fish landing sites as control group. The study was conducted through secondary data search from sources at NaFIRRI, DFR and ICEIDA. Field data collection was carried out using a sample survey covering 312 respondents including boat and gear owners, crew members, processors and traders at eight project and two control landing sites. Key Informant Interviews were conducted with DFOs and BMU leaders in the study districts and landing sites respectively.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical and radiologic response of patients with Graves' ophthalmopathy given low-dose orbital radiotherapy (RT) with a protracted fractionation. Methods and Materials: Eighteen patients (36 orbits) received orbital RT with a total dose of 10 Gy, fractionated in 1 Gy once a week over 10 weeks. of these, 9 patients received steroid therapy as well. Patients were evaluated clinically and radiologically at 6 months after treatment. Clinical response assessment was carried out using three criteria: by physical examination, by a modified clinical activity score, and by a verbal questionnaire considering the 10 most common signs and symptoms of the disease. Radiologic response was assessed by magnetic resonance imaging. Results: Improvement in ocular pain, palpebral edema, visual acuity, and ocular motility was observed in all patients. Significant decrease in symptoms such as tearing (p < 0.001) diplopia (p = 0.008), conjunctival hyperemia (p = 0.002), and ocular grittiness (p = 0.031) also occurred. Magnetic resonance imaging showed decrease in ocular muscle thickness and in the intensity of the T2 sequence signal in the majority of patients. Treatments were well tolerated, and to date no complications from treatment have been observed. There was no statistical difference in clinical and radiologic response between patients receiving RT alone and those receiving RT plus steroid therapy. Conclusion: RT delivered in at a low dose and in a protracted scheme should be considered as a useful therapeutic option for patients with Graves' ophthalmopathy. We survey several of the research efforts pursued by the iBench and snBench projects in the CS Department at Boston University over the last half dozen years. These activities use ideas and methodologies inspired by recent developments in other parts of computer science -- particularly in formal methods and in the foundations of programming languages -- but now specifically applied to the certification of safety-critical networking systems. This is research jointly led by Azer Bestavros and Assaf Kfoury with the participation of Adam Bradley, Andrei Lapets, and Michael Ocean.

Since 1968, bone marrow transplantation became the first line therapy for selected metabolic and immunological hereditary disorders. Actually, advances in the supportive care in bone marrow transplantation and a better knowledge of the immunology of BMT complications has been associated with a better disease correction and an increase in long term survival. New approaches are under investigation and include: hematopoietic growth factors, enzymatic replacement and gene therapy. However at the present time BMT is still the only curative treatment for selected hereditary disorders.

The purpose of this Quality Assurance Handbook (QAH) is to present and describe quality standards and procedures to be applied in the internal management and execution of the Research and Innovation Action 644187 RAGE (Realising and Applied Gaming Eco-system). This document is based on the terms and conditions established in the Grant Agreement (nº 644187) signed by the European Commission and the project coordinator, and its Annexes as well as the RAGE Consortium Agreement specifications and requirements
