As sementes de anonáceas são conhecidas por apresentarem mecanismos de dormência, o que dificulta a perpetuação das espécies e a formação de áreas produtivas para a exploração comercial. Deste modo, os objetivos deste trabalho foram estudar curva de aquisição de água; a germinação de sementes tratadas com GA3 e GA4+7 + Benziladenina; o balanço hormonal e a degradação de reservas em sementes de Annona diversifolia Saff e Annona purpurea Moc & Sessé ex Dunal tratadas com reguladores vegetais para a superação da dormência. Para tanto foram realizados três experimentos. Para a construção da curva de aquisição de água foram utilizadas 4 repetições de 25 sementes que foram mantidas em embebição e pesadas durante 480 horas. O segundo experimento foi constituído pela germinação das sementes tratadas com os reguladores vegetais; o delineamento experimental empregado foi o inteiramente casualizado com 4 repetições de 25 sementes por parcela em esquema fatorial 2 x 7 (reguladores x concentrações). Os tratamentos foram constituídos pelas combinações entre concentrações de GA3 e de GA4+7 + Benziladenina (GA4+7 + BA) x 0, 200, 400, 500, 600, 800 e 1000 mg L-1 i.a.. Existem muitas informações sobre o potencial matricial de água no solo adequado para o reinício de rega em sistema de plantio convencional, mas há poucas informações sobre qual o melhor potencial da água do solo para o controle da irrigação em sistema de plantio direto (SPD). Dessa forma, objetivou-se estudar o efeito de cinco de níveis de irrigação sobre a produtividade, o teor de sólidos solúveis e a acidez em frutos do tomateiro para processamento, cultivar Hypeel, cultivado no SPD em Latossolo Amarelo. O experimento foi conduzido sob delineamento experimental em blocos casualizados, com cinco tratamentos e quatro repetições. Os tratamentos consistiram de cinco valores de potencial matricial de água no solo para reinício da irrigação (m a 13 cm de profundidade medido por tensiômetros): -15 kPa, -30 kPa, -45 kPa, -60 kPa e -75 kPa. A produtividade máxima foi obtida quando o valor de tensão da água do solo esteve em -28,5 kPa. O teor máximo de sólidos solúveis foi obtido quando o valor de tensão da água do solo alcançou valores em torno de -50,8 kPa.

Este trabalho descreve a correlação entre parâmetros de uso da terra (área agricultada, área edificada, pastagem, solo exposto e vegetação intermediária) e de qualidade da água subterrânea (pH, sólidos totais dissolvidos - STD, K+, Na+, Fe+3, Ca+2, Mg+2, NO2 -, NO3 -, P total e coliformes), no sul do estado do Espírito Santo. A delimitação da área de influência de poços e a identificação das classes de uso da terra foram feitas utilizando-se Sistema de Informações Geográficas. Por meio da análise de correlação canônica, foi possível estimar dois índices: índice de uso da terra e índice de qualidade da água, ambos padronizados. A correlação canônica foi significativa entre o primeiro par de variáveis canônicas, indicando relação linear entre os grupos. Desta forma, é possível afirmar que o uso da terra influenciou a qualidade da água subterrânea, principalmente pelo incremento da concentração de alguns elementos químicos.

This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of the inclusion of different linseed oil levels (0.0, 3.3, 6.6, or 9.9%) in iso-energy diets fed during the period of 21 to 56 days of age on the performance, carcass traits, and body composition of broilers. A total of 1,600 broilers were distributed according to a completely randomized experimental design consisting of four treatments with eight replicates of 40 birds per experimental unit. In the period of 21-42 days of age, weight gain increased, feed and calorie conversion ratios quadratically improved, and feed and metabolizable energy intakes linearly increased as dietary linseed oil level increased. Considering the entire experimental period, dietary linseed oil linearly increased weight gain and feed and energy intakes, and feed and calorie conversion ratios in a quadratic manner. On days 42 and 56, abdominal fat percentage and carcass yield were quadratically influenced by dietary linseed oil. Total body fat content at 56 days of age was quadratically influenced by dietary linseed levels.

This work evaluated the quality of the fruit in peach and nectarine cultivars with and without the application of hydrogenated cyanamide and mineral oil, for two production cycles (2009 and 2010). The experiment was carried out at the School of Agricultural Science of the São Paulo State University (UNESP), at Botucatu in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, located at latitude 22º51'55 S and longitude 48º26'22 E, at an altitude of 810 m. The predominant climate type is warm temperate (mesothermal) with rains in the summer and dry in the winter. The following were evaluated: soluble solids, titratable acidity, pH, ratio, firmness, vitamin C and pulp yield. The use of hydrogenated cyanamide and mineral oil had no effect on the quality attributes of the fruit, except for pH, where those fruits under application of the products showed higher values. The cultivars all had a pulp yield greater than 90%, with 'Tourmaline' showing the highest yield (96 %). The levels of vitamin C varied according to the cultivars, where 'Marli' (16.9 mg 100 g-1) and 'Dourado-2' (16.5 mg 100 g-1), stood out for having the highest levels.

Trials were carried out in Juazeiro, Bahia State, Brazil, aiming to test plant regulators composed by gibberellin, cytokine and auxin effects on chemical quality of Superior Seedless grape berries. The first trial studied the effects of Stimulate (R) (bio regulator) and X-Cyte (R) (cytokine) associated to a new gibberellin formulation (N-Large (R)) and associated to Pro-Gibb (R), which is a product used as source of gibberellin. Products were sprayed at berries development phase (18, 21, 51 and 56 days after spur-pruning). Treatments were: T1: Pro-Gibb (R); T2: Stimulate (R) (Dose 1); T3: Stimulate (R) (Dose 2); T4: Stimulate (R) (Dose 3); T5: Pro-Gibb (R) + X-Cyte (R) (Low Dose - DB); T6: Pro-Gibb (R) + X-Cyte (R) (Intermediate Dose - DM); T7: Pro-Gibb (R) + X-Cyte (R) (High Dose - DA); T8: N-Large (R); T9: N-Large (R) + X-Cyte (R) (DB); T10: N-Large (R) + X-Cyte (R) (DM); T11: N-Large (R) + X-Cyte (R) (DA). The second trial aimed to assess the effect of the new gibberellin formulation (N-Large (R)) associated or not with cytokine (X-Cyte (R)) also sprayed straight over the bunches at berries development phase (17, 55 e 66 days after spur-pruning). Treatments were: T1: Pro-Gibb (R) - blank; T2: N-Large (R) (DB); T3: N-Large (R) (DM); T4: N-Large (R) (DA); T5: N-Large (R) (DB) + X-Cyte (R) (DB); T6: N-Large (R) (DB) + X-Cyte (R) (DM); T7: N-Large (R) (DB) + X-Cyte (R) (DA); T8: N-Large (R) (DM) + X-Cyte (R) (DB); T9: N-Large (R) (DM) + X-Cyte (R) (DM); T10: N-Large (R) (DM) + X-Cyte (R) (DA); T11: N-Large (R) (DA) + X-Cyte (R) (DB); T12: N-Large (R) (DA) + X-Cyte (R) (DM); T13: N-Large (R) (DA) + X-Cyte (R) (DA). Experimental design was random blocks with four repetitions with each repetition/parcel having three useful plants in the same row. At harvest, when bunches average had soluble solids over 15 degrees Brix, berries were collected for soluble solids, pH, titratable acidity analysis as well as (SS/AT) ratio calculation. In both trials, plant regulators evaluated did not provide significant changes on chemical quality of 'Superior Seedless' grape berries. Therefore, the lack of differences on response between the commercially used product (Pro-Gibb (R)) and the other products tested (Stimulate (R), X-Cyte (R) e N-Large (R)) prove the last as promising for the ` Superior Seedless' grape cultivation, leaving a larger range of alternative for grape farmers in the Sao Francisco Valley, Bahia.

The almost complete absence or misdistribution of water as a natural resource frequently constitute a limiting factor for plant growth and development in the semi-arid northeastern Brazil. In this context, the use of appropriate irrigation techniques is an essential and indispensable factor for proper functioning of the primary and secondary metabolisms in plants. This study aimed to assess the metabolism of the Syrah grapevine in the semi-arid northeastern Brazil, by using three irrigation strategies (controlled deficit irrigation [CDI], deficit irrigation [DI], and full irrigation [FI]). The research was conducted at Embrapa Semiarid (Embrapa-Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation), Experimental Field of Bebedouro, municipality of Petrolina, state of Pernambuco, Brazil. The statistical design was randomized blocks, with a 3 x 6 factorial scheme. Six samplings were performed throughout the experiment cycle at 54, 60, 73, 87, 101, and 115 days after pruning (DAP). We analyzed the total soluble sugars, reducing sugars, total soluble protein, and invertase activity. Analysis of variance and the F test were performed for all analyzed variables. The means were compared using the Tukey test at 5% significance. At the end of the experiment cycle, DI was found to increase the average acid invertase activity in the plant cell wall. Further, by the end of the experiment cycle, the total soluble sugars and reducing sugars increased in all plants in the three irrigation strategies. Thus, we conclude that it is possible to reduce water consumption in vineyards of the semi-arid northeastern Brazil, without significantly affecting the protein and sugar metabolisms in the plants.
