The aim of this study it was to evaluate the use of irrigating solution used during root canal preparation on the adhesive cementation of prefabricated fiberglass pins. The bond strength between different regions of the root and the fiberglass pins cemented into the root canal were evaluated by push-out assay. For this study, 36 human teeth were used, all equally prepared. The irrigating solutions used for biomechanical preparation were: saline solution, sodium hypochlorite 2,5% and glycolic extract of salvia 20%. The dual cure resin cement was used for cementation of pins. After cementation, specimens were sectioned to give 3 slices of approximately 2 mm each (cervical, middle and apical), which were submitted to mechanical push-out test. Were performed ANOVA and Tukey's test with a significance level of 5%, for the analysis of mechanical test. Comparing the thirds we observed that the only solution that presented statistical difference in the bond strength was sodium hypochlorite, which showed higher values for the middle and apical third compared with the cervical third, but when compared without taking into consideration the dental thirds, solutions studied showed no differences in bond strength. Therefore, it was concluded that the solutions studied can be used during endodontic treatment without causing harmful effects on the final adhesive restoration

Introduction: Physical exercise are related to high oxygen consumption, leading to increase on reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and subsequent oxidative stress. Concomitantly, physical training can improve the antioxidant defense systems, reducing the deleterious activity of ROS. The yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis) has several bioactive compounds in its composition, providing important antioxidant activity in improving defense systems and reducing the damage caused by ROS. Few studies related to yerba mate with antioxidant effects during exercise. Objective: Evaluate whether the consumption-based drink yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis) is able to increase the total antioxidant performance (TAP) after an exhaustive test on a treadmill. Methods: The sample counted with 15 female soccers players from Botucatu-SP female soccer team with a mean age of 22.1 ± 4.2 years. For laboratory tests , it was evaluated: triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC) and fractions, glucose and gamma-GT were dosed by dry chemistry (Vitros® System, Johnson & Johnson). LDL-cholesterol was obtained by Friedwald formula. Total antioxidant performance (TAP) was obtained by the method of fluorescence assay for the measurement of plasma. Weight, height and body mass index (IMC) were measured, percentage of body fat was obtained by bioeletrical impedance analysis (Biodinâmics, modelo 450, USA). Arterial blood pressure was checked by auscultatory method and cardiorespiratory fitness was determined by ergoespirometric test (Ramp Protocol). Maltodextrin was supplemented (30 g in 400 ml) 30 minutes after M0 with placebo (400 ml) or mate (5 g in 400 ml of water). One of the most important strategies for biodiversity conservation is the establishment of protected areas, which protect areas important for the survival of several species. The park “Parque Natural Municipal Cachoeira da Marta”, located in Botucatu, São Paulo, is a unit of strictly protected area and aims to conserve the ecosystems and the biodiversity that exists in the area. The park has a management plan, but this does not include a survey of mammals present in the area, which is relevant as the group has a high degree of threat and a huge ecological importance. Thus, this study aimed to conduct a quick survey of terrestrial mammals of medium and large through the methodology of sand plots, with 25 plots distributed in five areas throughout the park. We recorded 4 orders, 6 families and 9 species (Nasua Nasua, Eira Barbara, Procyon cancrivorous, Leopardus pardalis, Leopardus sp., Dasypus novemcinctus, Tamandua tetradctyla, and Cavia aperea Myrmecophaga tridactyla). Most animals marked are generalist feeding habits, but it was also reported the presence of species more demanding regarding the quality of the habitat

Ce travail est consacré sur la perspective dialogique d'étude d'un type de texte assez bien populaire sur les médias numériques; appelés par chaîne, il s'agit des messages qui sont transmises par e-mail de façon très rapide et de large propagation parmi ses usagers. La recherche a par objective principal analyser les discours véhiculés par les appelés chaînes, en abordant ses thèmes plus recourants, liées aux concepts de dialogue et genre, présents sur les travaux du Circule de Bakhtine. Par constitution du corpus ils sont allés sélectionnées des chaînes transmises par e-mail entre les années de 2009 et 2011. Dans l'analyse du matériel collecté on a découvert des différences plus généralistes que nous ont permis sa organisation en trois différents grands thèmes: religieuse, relations et utilité publique. Les chaînes composées par la thématique religieuse amènent une mode d’interpellation assez très incisif, direct et explicite à son destinataire, pour qu'il puisse renvoyer le message reçu à des autres destinataires. Il s'agit d'un appel, souvent, coactif et menaçant, avec le but aussi de persuader le destinataire à adhérer au discours religieux contenu dans le message. Le discours religieux des chaînes est configuré d'une façon de défi, ou test, pour lesquelles il y a une promesse de récompense. Le deuxième type de chaîne analysé explore le thème des relations homme/femme et interpelle son destinataire d'une façon suggestionné et non coercitive

Introdução: O futsal é uma modalidade esportiva altamente dinâmica e sua prática em nível de rendimento é caracterizada por uma exigência altíssima dos sistemas anaeróbio e aeróbio, sendo o último, responsável por sustentar as altas intensidades exigidas durante a partida. Um exemplo de teste para avaliar a capacidade aeróbia é o “Circuito de Hoff”, porém específico para o futebol. Com a finalidade de elaborar um protocolo de teste específico para o futsal, este estudo procura padronizar o teste “Circuito de Hoff” como uma forma i ndireta de i nvestigar a capacidade aeróbia de atletas dessa modalidade. Objetivo: Padroni zar o “Circuito de Hoff” para avaliação da capacidade aeróbia de jogadores de futsal, determinada pelo teste de lactato mínimo. Metodologia: Participaram do estudo 8 atletas de futsal do sexo masculino (idade: 21,75±2,05 anos) pertencentes a uma equipe universitária de competição do Estado de São Paulo. Inicialmente os participantes passaram por uma avaliação antropométrica e deram início ao um período de 5 dias de familiarização ao Hofffutsal e logo após então realizaram o teste de lactato mínimo no circuito Hofffutsal. Após 7 dias, teste de lactato mínimo no circuito Hofffutsal foi reaplicado para a verificação da reprodutibilidade (intra-teste). Para análise estatística de normalidade e homogeneidade dos dados foram utilizados os testes Shapiro-Wilks e Levene respectivamente. Para comparação dos resultados foi realizado o teste t de Student pareado e a correlação de Pearson (p<0,05). Resultados: O teste t de Student não encontrou diferenças estatísticas entre os valores de Lac_mín teste x Lac_min Re-teste, e R2 Teste X R2 Re-teste. Apresentou-se valores de 7,75±0,29 mmol/l de lactato mínimo e r2 de 0,94±0,09 para teste e um valor de 7,69±0,29 mmol/l de lactato mínimo ...(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo)

O Brasil é um país dotado de Biodiversidade incomparável da qual advém inúmeras plantas medicinais que são frequentemente utilizadas de acordo com conhecimento empírico da população em geral. Considerando a importância de investigar os efeitos farmacológicos e toxicológicos de espécies vegetais utilizadas com fins terapêuticos, foi objetivo do presente trabalho avaliar a atividade mutagênica dos extratos metanólicos e hexânicos de Pouteria ramiflora e Pouteria torta, pois seus dados farmacológicos descritos na literatura são bastante restritos, destacando-se as atividades antimicrobiana, citotóxica e imunomoduladora. Como ferramenta foram escolhidos os testes de Ames e do Micronúcleo, pois ambos são preconizados pela ANVISA em testes de toxicidade de fitoterápicos. No Teste de Ames foram utilizadas as linhagens TA100, TA98, TA97a e TA102 de Salmonella typhimurium em presença e ausência de metabolização e no ensaio do micronúcleo foi utilizado o sangue periférico de camundongos Swiss tratados in vivo. Os resultados constataram que os extratos de ambas as espécies provocaram desvios da normalidade, ou seja, o Teste de Ames detectou aumento no número de revertentes por placa e o Teste do micronúcleo mostrou aumento significativo no número de células micronucleadas. Esses resultados demonstraram claramente que as duas espécies de Pouteria estudadas apresentaram potencial mutagênico e, portanto, o uso popular dessas plantas deve ser feito com cautela

Compounds released into the environment can induce genetic alterations in living organisms. A group of chemicals that shows proven toxicity is the pesticides, and the insecticides are the most harmful. The insecticides of the family phenylpyrazole have wide application both in agriculture and in homes. Fipronil, an insecticide of this chemical group, is widely used in various cultures and in homes, mainly for fighting fleas and ticks on dogs and cats. The use of fipronil may represent a risk to man and the environmental health, since this pesticide can potentially induce cell death, regardless of cell type. Fipronil, when in contact with the environment, can undergo various degradation processes, including photodegradation. The toxic effect of one of its metabolites derived from photodegradation, sulfone-fipronil, is approximately 20 fold as great as fipronil itself. The A. cepa test system was used to evaluate cytotoxic, genotoxicity and mutagenic effects of fipronil before and after phptodegradation. Seeds of Allium cepa were subjected to solutions of fipronil, pre-exposed or not exposed to degradation by sunlight. The germination tests were conducted both under the effect of light and in the dark. We evaluated the cumulative potential of this insecticide using 48 and 72-hours recovery tests. The results showed that when fipronil was previously exposed to the sun, it presented a greater genotoxic and mutagenic potential, showing that the metabolites formed by photodegradation can show more harmfull effects

T he people’s daily lives are surrounded by computing devices, with increasing resources (sensors) and, with increasing processing. How these devices communicate is still not natural and This retards the growth of Ubiquitous Computing. This paper presents a way in which these devices can communicate using Jini technology and concepts of Service Oriented Architecture, applying these concepts in a test case of Ubiquitous Computing. To conduct the test case was constructed a fictitious system for management of a soccer championship, where users can interact with each other and with the system in a simplified way, have access to data in real time of the championship during the event. This communication is performed by services built using Jini technology, which were based on key SOA concepts, such as modularity and reusability

A study was conducted to determine the optimal time for collecting the breath examination urea breath marked with the stable isotope 13C. We selected patients before undergoing the examination of endoscopy at the Endoscopy Section of the University Hospital of Botucatu - SP. A screening was performed to determine which patients wanted and could participate. Before performing endoscopy basal sample was collected from the patient and then the labeled urea ingested. The blows were collected in double every 2.5 minutes until an interval of 30.0 minutes after were collected every 5.0 minutes until the time of 45.0 minutes . The samples were analyzed in a mass spectrometer for isotope ratio, located in the center of Stable Isotopes, Institute of Biosciences, UNESP - Botucatu campus. The data were studied and arranged in the form of graphics to better interpretation of results. Based on the obtained results it was determined that a standby time of 15.0 minutes to collect the wind is sufficient for accurate diagnosis and effective

This article aims to describe the proposed development of an emulator application for digital TV that operates on a local computer network, to have it as a testing environment for students and researchers. The emulator application is presented as a useful tool to reduce validation costs of applications developed for digital TV.
