Demophoo Thomson, 1864 is removed from the synonymy of Hoplistocerus Blanchard, 1847. The genus and D. hammatus (Chabrillac, 1857) are redescribed.

Revisão do gênero Satipoella (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Lamiinae)

The genus Satipoella Lane, 1964 is revised and a new synonym is proposed, Icarai Galileo & Martins, 1998, with Satipoella. A new species, S. ochroma, is described from Amazonas, Brazil. New combination: Satipoella bufo (Thomson, 1864) from Icarai. The three species of Satipoella are illustrated and keyed.

Descrição de duas espécies novas de Opopaea do sul do Brasil (Oonopidae, Araneae)

Two new species, Opopaea viamao and O. ita, are described from the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, Brazil, respectively. Both species present reduction or loss of posterior median eyes, a possible synapomorphic caracter.

The female of Argyrothemis argentea Ris, 1911 is described and illustrated for the first time. New records expand the distribution range of the species to Central West Region of Brazil.

Revisão taxonômica e relações filogenéticas das espécies de Roeboides grupo-microlepis (Ostariophysi, Characiformes, Characidae)

The Roeboides microlepis species-group is revised. Four species are recognized: R. myersii Gill, 1870 from the Amazon basin, R. microlepis (Reinhardt, 1851) from river Paraguay, middle and lower river Paraná, R. araguaito sp. nov. from the river Orinoco basin, and R. margareteae sp. nov. known only from Rio Parnaíba and Pindaré-Mearim, northeastern Brazil. The type-locality of R. microlepis is restricted to river Paraguay; R. bonariensis (Steindachner, 1879) is considered a synonym of R. microlepis. The phylogenetic analysis indicates that R. myersii and R. araguaito are most parsimoniously related and may be a sister group. These two species are here considered as sister group of the monophyletic lineage which includes R. microlepis and R. margareteae. A key to the microlepis species-group genus Roeboides is given.

Duas espécies novas de Lophoblatta (Blattaria, Blattelidae) do Brasil e descrição da genitália de cinco espécies conhecidas

New species described: Lophoblatta bromelicola and L. tingua both from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The male genitalia of five other species are illustrated and described. New records are given: L. petropolitana Rocha e Silva & Vasconcelos, 1987 to Espírito Santo and L. speerae Rocha e Silva-Albuquerque & Gurney, 1963 to Pernambuco, Goiás and Espírito Santo, Brazil. The genus is divided in four groups according as the male genitalia characters.

Envia garciai, a new genus and species of mygalomorph spiders (Araneae, Microstigmatidae) from Brazilian Amazonia

The genus Envia, comprising only the new species Envia garciai, is proposed. These small mygalomorph spiders were abundantly collected in soil cores and litter samples in primary rain forests near Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil.

Maruina menina, uma nova espécie de Psychodidae (Diptera) do Brasil

Maruina menina sp. nov., from Atlantic rain forest of Bahia, northeastern Brazil, is described and illustrated.

Revision of Brachystethus (Heteroptera, Pentatomidae, Edessinae)

Brachystethus Laporte, 1832 is revised. Brachystethus coxalis Breddin, 1904, B. cribrus (Fabricius, 1781), B. geniculatus (Fabricius, 1787), B. improvisus Breddin, 1905, B. rubromaculatus Dallas, 1851, B. signoreti Stål, 1872, B. tricolor Bolívar, 1879, B. vexillum Breddin, 1903 and B. vicinus Signoret, 1851 are redescribed based on morphological characters, with emphasis on genitalia of both sexes. A new species, B. schuhi, from Guyana, is described, and B. discolor (Walker, 1867), incertae sedis, is removed from the genus. Illustrations and a key for species of Brachystethus are provided.

Otiothops lajeado sp. nov. and Fernandezina saira sp. nov., respectively from the states of Tocantins and Amazonas, Brazil, are described.

New taxa described: from Ecuador, Quirimbaua gen. nov., type species Q. castroi (Napo); from Colombia: Icupima taua (Cauca), Adesmus murutinga and Tyrinthia dioneae (Valle del Cauca), Essosthrutella acatinga and Hemilomecopterus gen. nov., type species, H. alienus (Amazonas). New records for Colombia are presented for Olivensa mimula Lane, 1965, Tyrinthia paraba Martins & Galileo, 1991, Amapanesia exotica (Martins & Galileo, 1991), Sibapipunga beckeri (Martins & Galileo, 1992), Juninia annulifera (Kirsch, 1889), Isomerida albicollis (Laporte, 1840), Adesmus diana (Thomson, 1860), A. pirauna Galileo & Martins, 1999, Phoebe concinna White, 1856 and Leucophoebe albaria (Bates, 1872). A key to the species of Essosthrutella is added.

Heleobia robusta, new species from plain coast of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, is described. Conchology, conchometry, soft-part morphology including head-food, pallial structures, radula and some aspects of the female and male reproductive systems are provided.

Two new species of the genus Philoponella from Brazil and Argentina (Araneae, Uloboridae)

Two new species of the genus Philoponella Mello-Leitão, 1917 are described: P. ramirezi, from the Atlantic forest of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and P. pomelita, from the subtropical forests of the Province of Misiones, Argentina. Relationships of these new species are discussed.

Five new Brazilian species of the genus Trybliophorus (Orthoptera, Romaleidae)

The new species Trybliophorus amazonicus, T. nigrus, T. rubricerus, T. olivaceus and T. paraensis from Amazonian region are described. Illustrations of male and female genitalia, as well as a map showing the geographical distribution of the species are included.
