Henkilöstöhallinnosta strategiseen henkilöstövoimavarojen johtamiseen - HRM 2000-luvulla

Tässä tutkielmassa on tarkastelu henkilöstöhallinnon kehittymistä strategiseksi henkilöstövoimavarojen johtamiseksi. Tutkielmassa on tarkasteltu tuota kehitysprosessia kronologisesti edeten, tarkastellen henkilöstöasioiden hoitamisen eri kehitysvaiheita sekä kehittymiseen vaikuttaneita tekijöitä. Tutkielmassa on myös pyritty hahmottelemaan henkilöstöfunktion tulevaisuuden näkymiä. Tutkielman aiheeseen on perehdytty käyttäen apuna aiheesta aiemmin kirjoitettua kirjallisuutta sekä tarkastelemalla siitä tehtyjä tutkimuksia. Tämän prosessin avulla tutkimuksessa on pyritty luomaan käsitys siitä, mitä henkilöstöasioiden hoitamiseen sisältyy ja miten se on kehittynyt. Tutkimuksen ollessa kirjallisuuteen perustuva teoreettinen tarkastelu on aiheen lähestyminen ollut mahdollista vain suhteellisen pinnallisesti. Tällainen teoreettinen tarkastelu antaa kuitenkin hyvän perustan aiheesta kiinnostuneella sekä mahdollisuuden esimerkiksi aiheesta tehtävälle jatkotutkimukselle.

Comparative genomics of Hedgehog loci in chordates and the origin of Shh regulatory novelties

The origin and evolution of the complex regulatory landscapes of some vertebrate developmental genes, often spanning hundreds of Kbp and including neighboring genes, remain poorly understood. The Sonic Hedgehog (Shh) genomic regulatory block (GRB) is one of the best functionally characterized examples, with several discrete enhancers reported within its introns, vast upstream gene-free region and neighboring genes (Lmbr1 and Rnf32). To investigate the origin and evolution of this GRB, we sequenced and characterized the Hedgehog (Hh) loci from three invertebrate chordate amphioxus species, which share several early expression domains with Shh. Using phylogenetic footprinting within and between chordate lineages, and reporter assays in zebrafish probing >30 Kbp of amphioxus Hh, we report large sequence and functional divergence between both groups. In addition, we show that the linkage of Shh to Lmbr1 and Rnf32, necessary for the unique gnatostomate-specific Shh limb expression, is a vertebrate novelty occurred between the two whole-genome duplications.

Comparative effectiveness of gemcitabine plus cisplatin versus methotrexate, vinblastine, doxorubicin, plus cisplatin as neoadjuvant therapy for muscle-invasive bladder cancer.

BACKGROUND: Gemcitabine plus cisplatin (GC) has been adopted as a neoadjuvant regimen for muscle-invasive bladder cancer despite the lack of Level I evidence in this setting. METHODS: Data were collected using an electronic data-capture platform from 28 international centers. Eligible patients had clinical T-classification 2 (cT2) through cT4aN0M0 urothelial cancer of the bladder and received neoadjuvant GC or methotrexate, vinblastine, doxorubicin, plus cisplatin (MVAC) before undergoing cystectomy. Logistic regression was used to compute propensity scores as the predicted probabilities of patients being assigned to MVAC versus GC given their baseline characteristics. These propensity scores were then included in a new logistic regression model to estimate an adjusted odds ratio comparing the odds of attaining a pathologic complete response (pCR) between patients who received MVAC and those who received GC. RESULTS: In total, 212 patients (146 patients in the GC cohort and 66 patients in the MVAC cohort) met criteria for inclusion in the analysis. The majority of patients in the MVAC cohort (77%) received dose-dense MVAC. The median age of patients was 63 years, they were predominantly men (74%), and they received a median of 3 cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The pCR rate was 29% in the MVAC cohort and 31% in the GC cohort. There was no significant difference in the pCR rate when adjusted for propensity scores between the 2 regimens (odds ratio, 0.91; 95% confidence interval, 0.48-1.72; P = .77). In an exploratory analysis evaluating survival, the hazard ratio comparing hazard rates for MVAC versus GC adjusted for propensity scores was not statistically significant (hazard ratio, 0.78; 95% confidence interval, 0.40-1.54; P = .48). CONCLUSIONS: Patients who received neoadjuvant GC and MVAC achieved comparable pCR rates in the current analysis, providing evidence to support what has become routine practice. A comparative study of the intercellular connections between parasite/host in two Gelidiocolax/Gelidium algal parasitic systems

Comparative ultrastructural study of the intercellular connections between parasite and host cells in two algal parasitic systems, Gelidiocolax christianae Feldmann and Feldmann/Ge/iV/ium spathulatum (Kutz.) Bornet and Gelidiocolax deformans Seoane Camba/Gelidium sesquipedale (Clem.) Thur, shows quantitative and structural differences. The number of free conjunctor cells (before fusión with the adjacent host cells) differs between the two parasitic systems and is inversely related to the number of complex pit connections. The fibrillar cell wall structure of the conjunctor cells and the lamellar structure of the complex pit plugs in the two systems are also different A hypothesis concerning the different activity of the conjuntor cell wall in the two parasitic systems, related with the different structural appearance, is proposed.

Comparative study of two needle models in terms of deflection during inferior alveolar nerve block

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to determine the possible differences in deflection between two needles of same length and external gauge but with different internal gauges during truncal block of the inferior alveolar nerve. The initial working hypothesis was that greater deflection may be expected with larger internal gauge needles. Study design: Four clinicians subjected 346 patients to inferior alveolar nerve block and infiltrating anesthesia of the buccal nerve trajectory for the surgical or conventional extraction of the lower third molar. A nonautoaspirating syringe system with 2 types of needle was used: a standard 27-gauge x 35-mm needle with an internal gauge of 0.215 mm or an XL Monoprotect® 27-gauge x 35-mm needle with an internal gauge of 0.265 mm. The following information was systematically recorded for each patient: needle type, gender, anesthetic technique (direct or indirect truncal block) and the number of bone contacts during the procedure, the patient-extraction side, the practitioner performing the technique, and blood aspiration (either positive or negative). Results: 346 needles were used in total. 190 were standard needles (27-gauge x 35-mm needle with an internal gauge of 0.215 mm) and 156 were XL Monoprotect®. Incidence of deflection was observed in 49.1% of cases (170 needles) where 94 were standard needles and 76 XL Monoprotect®. Needle torsion ranged from 0º and 6º. Conclusions: No significant differences were recorded in terms of deflection and internal gauge, operator, patient-extraction side, the anesthetic technique involved and the number of bone contacts during the procedure

Opérationnaliser la théorie de la justice sociale d'Amartya Sen au champ de l'orientation scolaire : les apports d'une étude multicas qualitative et comparative

Nos travaux traitent des dispositifs d'orientation scolaire et professionnelle (DOSP) voués au soutien et à l'accompagnement de jeunes inégalement dotés dans leur parcours d'orientation au moment de la transition aux études supérieures. Des innovations méthodologiques étaient requises afin d'étudier cette question dans la perspective théorique de justice sociale d'Amartya Sen. Nous avons procédé à l'élaboration et à la vérification des qualités scientifiques d'outils de récolte de données dans une étude comparative internationale. Notre étude multicas se fonde sur cinq pays (Burkina Faso, Canada, France, Turquie, Suisse). Dans chacun des cas, des données qualitatives ont été récoltées sur le système éducatif, l'organisation des services et les prestations de service d'orientation. Vingt-six entretiens semi-structurés ont été menés auprès de responsables de service, de conseillères et conseillers d'orientation psychologues ainsi que de jeunes en transition vers le supérieur. La validité interne ou crédibilité des outils a été assurée tout au long de l'élaboration et des révisions du protocole de recherche, empruntant les procédés propres à l'étude de cas. La vérification de la validité de construit et de la validité externe ou transférabilité, effectuée à partir des données de la préenquête, a mis en lumière la valeur heuristique de nos outils. Au final, le cadre comparatif des DOSP, présenté en annexe, compte parmi les toutes premières formes d'opérationnalisation du cadre théorique de Sen au champ de l'orientation.
