The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce publishes news releases with monthly statistics about the employment situation of the state, including unemployment rate, employment by industry, and local area unemployment by county and MSA.

A review of the S.C. Department of Transportation

Members of the General Assembly asked the Legislative Audit Council to conduct an audit of the S.C. Department of Transportation. The objectives were to:Identify funding levels since FY 05-06 ; Review expenditures since FY 05-06 ; Determine if the department has followed the provisions of Act 114 regarding prioritization ; Review contracting activities for fairness, percentage of out-of-state entity awards, and identify the amount awarded to contractors employing former SCDOT employees ; Report the status of problems identified in the annual audits performed as a result of S.C. Code of Laws §57-1-490 ; Perform a follow-up review of the contracted 2010 MGT, Inc. audit recommendations ; Review pavement resurfacing issues ; Conduct a limited review of certain management-related topics.

Executive order no. 2016-13

This executive order by Governor Nikki R. Haley establishes the South Carolina Community Development Block Grant Steering Committee to advise the South Carolina Department of Commerce on the development of the South Carolina State Action Plan and oversee its implementation for the disbursement of the Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Relief funds due to the historic flooding in October of 2015, leading to widespread damage to homes across the state

Library, Archives and Museum Annual Assessment Report, 2004-2005

The Library, Archives and Museum are a major component of South Carolina’s only state-assisted military college, The Citadel. They participate in the teaching, research, and public service programs of The Citadel: by providing scholarly information; by the acquisition, organization, management, preservation, and arrangement of collections for access and use; by provision of supportive reference and instruction services; and by a variety of cooperative and reciprocal programs in the local area, the region and the state. This annual report discusses their activities for the year 2004/05.

SCDNR WMA REGULAR SEASON WATERFOWL HARVEST SUMMARY 2011-2012

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources manages Waterfowl Management Areas to maintain populations of migratory waterfowl. South Carolina’s Arts In Basic Curriculum Project : A History 1987-2007

The Arts in Basic Curriculum (ABC) Project is a multifaceted initiative that has positively impacted arts education in South Carolina and the nation. Founded in 1987 the ABC Project has become a national model and influenced the advancement of education in and through the arts with a multitude of programs, models, and schemes. This is an overview of the full history. Parts I and II will chronicle events that were foundational to the project from inception in 1987 to the celebration of its 20th anniversary in 2007. Part III gives detailed descriptions of ten of the most important facets of the project.

South Carolina’s Creative Cluster : A Catalyst for Economic Development

This report presents results from a study of the creative economy associated with the arts, design, crafts and related activities in South Carolina. As this report will show, these creative individuals and enterprises exert a strong impact on the state’s economic base. Like other drivers of the regional economy, this creative activity revolves around a cluster, or a set of interrelated industries, that thrive in tandem. Along with manufacturing and agriculture, the creative cluster is a catalyst for state and local economic development. The report presents results from an analysis of the South Carolina creative cluster based on 2008 data. For the first time, this report provides a comprehensive summary of the creative economic footprint in South Carolina.
