Preaching Book, 1768-1777

Small soft-cover notebook containing handwritten entries made by Caleb Gannett between 1768 and 1777. The notebook consists of a one-page "An Account of my eating at the Steward's from August 7th, 1772" consisting of a short list kept between August 7 and September 21, 1772 of coffee, milk, tea, and meat consumed; twenty-two pages used as an accounting ledger for personal expenses between 1769 and 1775; and ten pages listing preaching fees received from 1768 to 1777. The entries listing ministerial fees generally follow the format: "April 3. Mr. Eliot to preaching at S. Cambridge 6..15..0."

An Epitaph, undated

One-page handwritten epitaph to Caleb Gannett beginning" Here lies within the circumference of this turf, the segment of Caleb Gannett a man of acute parts..." A handwritten note at the bottom of the document reads: "Written by a classmate of Judge Davis when in College, & when C.G. was particular tutor. - Given to me by Mr. White, June 22, 1847."

Twentieth century manuscript copies of correspondence between Thaddeus William Harris and Edward Everett, 1847 August

One letter from Harris, the University Librarian, to President Everett, enclosed with a historical account of the Great Salt and its donor, Richard Harris, and sketches of the new engravings on the Great Salt, Stoughton Cup, and Browne Cup bearing donor names. Harris writes that he hopes to have his account of the Great Salt published in the Cambridge Chronicle and is gratified to hear of Everett’s plans to use an excerpt in his Commencement dinner speech. In a short note of reply, Everett writes that Harris’ account of the silver was "received with great favor" during the dinner.

Scopo di questa tesi è comprendere quali tra due fenomeni geologici, subsidenza e sisma, abbia influito maggiormente sugli edifici di S. Giovanni in Persiceto analizzando le facciate degli edifici lungo le vie del centro storico. Gli studi di Geologia, precedentemente compiuti dall'autore di questa tesi, hanno permesso di affrontare i problemi che caratterizzano questi territori con una visione diversa, considerando anche le cause geologiche che potrebbero trovarsi alla base.
