The undergraduates in Nursing have been subject of studies on psychic problems, as alterations in behavior interfere in their learning. The aim of this research was to identify and measure the most frequent depression symptoms among the students using Beck's Depression Inventory. Socio-demographic information about the interviewees was also collected. Ninety-nine (99) students (81.82%) participated. The socio-demographic data show women's predominance (96.97%) in average with 20 years of age; 95.96% not originally from Botucatu and family monthly income of 5 to 10 minimum wages. In the total of the sampling, 41.41% presented a certain degree of depression varying from mild to severe. The most frequent symptoms were self-accusation, irritability and fatigue. The investigation shows the need of programs that follow the students during their academic formation.

Patients under treatment with oral anticoagulants present specific needs for which nursing care plays an important role, especially to prevent complications. The present review was carried out aiming at discussing nursing diagnoses for these patients by using the system of the North American Nursing Diagnoses Association--NANDA. Diagnoses for such patients depict the risk of bleeding and rethrombosis almost always due to the ineffective control of the therapeutic regimen and the deficit in the volume of fluids during active bleeding. Also, nursing interventions and assessment criteria are proposed for such conditions. The authors see the team's preparation to deal with such therapy as relevant for successful assistance.

This study aimed at reporting the experience of nursing consultation for leprosy patients performed at a university primary health care unit in inner São Paulo state as well as at presenting the instrument used. This activity is performed by two nurses who have worked in the program for over two decades and have thus become experienced in providing care to this type of patient. The effectiveness of instruments is evaluated as concerns form and content, thus enabling the assessment of actual health care needs based on an expanded analysis of the health-disease process. With this proposal, it is expected that nurses' action will be facilitated in the implementation of procedures aiming at comprehensive care.

Experience report carried out at a university hospital involving a patient victimized by an accident with a spider of the Loxosceles gaucho genus. This type of accident can be classified as mild, moderate and severe, depending on the period of time elapsed between the occurrence of the accident and the moment of care provision. We aimed at applying nursing care systematization in a comprehensive and humanized manner. The following nursing diagnoses were established: acute pain, damaged skin integrity, risks for infection, constipation and low self-esteem. The therapeutic relationship favored student/patient interactions and enabled the recognition of the needs that deserved nursing interventions. The nursing process was a valuable instrument and provided important elements for the patient's daily development and planning adjustment by prioritizing care quality.

One of the basic principles of the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS) is integral assistance, which considers the integrality of the individual, of service and care, which should necessarily include end of life care. Our aim was to analyze the work process of health professionals at the Family Health Strategy / Primary Care that already cared for people in the dying process to propose viable contributions to the Public Health area as regards the implementation of Palliative Care in Primary Care. We present data referring to the following themes: Singular Therapeutic Project (PTS); death quality as PTS goal (work purpose); the team's ways of doing (bonding as a pact condition). Eleven health professionals (four nurses and seven physicians) linked to the Family Health Strategy (ESF) of Campinas (São Paulo) participated on this research. From the interviews, data analysis followed the Socio-Historical Psychology theoretical and methodological approach. The professionals' activity was analyzed in articulation with the specificities of caring for people in the dying process. We found that action planning in health is oriented by the Singular Therapeutic Project (PTS), with an emphasis in social diagnosis and the need of a bond for attaining a pact. It is understood that the purpose of health professionals' activity is to promote dignity and life quality in the dying process, but integral care should include not only individual and family care, but also the defence of full human development during all phases of life.
