This paper reflects on education, work and social issues in the globalized world, where the transformations technical / scientific / informational, articulate the context and intentions capitalists generated unemployment and social exclusion of millions of people in the name of competitiveness and streamlining production . Brazil, a country with vast territory, the diversity of strategic resources, large population and vast internal market, has the potential to achieve full autonomy socioeconomic during the twenty-first century. However, the achievement of autonomy depends on the socioeconomic development of a strategic project to education to train the new generations and to upgrade the skills of workers at work. The construction of a just society depends on acquisition of knowledge, skills and social skills and labor to keep up with rapid changes afforded by developments in science and technology of the third millennium and build a collective consciousness able to avoid degrading economic, environmental and social fundamental condition for all Brazilians are full citizens.

This paper aims to present a study about the importance of Education as a public policy for the integral development of children and adolescents in street situation. As theoretical foundation, the authors used constructs from the National Policy of Special Education in the perspective of Inclusive Education, the Statute of the Child and Adolescent emphasizing the importance of family and social networks as a way to protect children and adolescents who left school and live under the precarious situation of street. In this sense, the National Policy of Special Education in the perspective of Inclusive Education has just pointed to the issues that pass by the inclusion of these children and adolescents to put them back to school. To do this, it is necessary to implement policies designed to the care of children and adolescents victimized by the living on the streets.

Reflections on the Movement STSE, in basic education, have pointed to the introduction of discussions involving the socio-scientific issues, as a way of organization and development of forming processes in science classes. In this sense, the research that we developed sought to bring to physics classes of basic education, the discussions surrounding the relationship between science, technology, society and environment issues related to production and access to electricity and human development. In order to interpret formative aspects of this approach was achieved through a short course. Thus, we discuss in this paper, the discourse of students and a professor of physics who participated in this short course. Therefore, we seek in discourse analysis, reflection on this practice, which has limitations such as lack of recognition of this type of training status by the students as well as possibilities represented by the establishment of training spaces that contribute to the discussion of socio-scientific issues.

The present work discusses the Physics education for deaf students, including the formation of the Physics education professional, the specialized educational service and the participation of translators and interpreters of the Sign Language in this process. We analyzed qualitatively the national policy for specialized education in the inclusive vision, legislation and national opinion related to the teaching profession in Physics. Using documentations, it was possible to identify the limitations and contradictions related to specialized educational service and the teaching and learning process in Physics.

A reciclagem é uma importante ferramenta para a gestão dos Resíduos Sólidos Domiciliares, como cita a Política Nacional dos Resíduos Sólidos. Assim esta pesquisa visa quantificar o impacto ambiental que um programa de reciclagem, com o objetivo de reciclar 20% dos resíduos passíveis de reciclagem, causaria na cidade de Cachoeira Paulista/SP. Para isso, foi utilizado o Waste Reduction Model para simular os dados e calcular a Emissão dos Gases de Efeito Estufa (MTCO2E e MTCE) e quantidade de Energia (Kwh). Um programa de reciclagem de 20% tem oportunidade de reduzir, em um ano e em relação a situação sem reciclagem, aproximadamente em 49% a quantidade de CO2 e C equivalentes, além de economizar em Kwh o equivalente ao gasto por um mês de energia elétrica de 9400 residências.

The perspective STSE (Science-Technology-Society-Environment) was recently implemented in the training courses for science teachers in Brazil, and proposes greater coordination of scientific knowledge with subjective questions that constitute the science, enables discussion of the nature of science and its implications for social and environmental issues. The present work aims to contribute to training of science teachers that approximates the current demands of contemporary society. Having as theoretical reasons the implications of STSE Movement in science teaching, we bring some considerations on pedagogical practices of undergraduates in Biological Sciences held within its Supervised. Through content analysis of the speeches of undergraduates, we can identify contributions and limitations that treatment of socio-scientific issues (SSI) revealed in the process, putting to discuss some aspects that are tangent training teachers committed to a contextualized view of science and scientific training. It discusses, among them, the relationship theory and practice in supervised training of future teachers’ conceptions about the implications of the STSE perspective in science teaching and science teacher positioning ahead controversial themes.

The theme of solid waste is in high evidence today, a fact noted by the recent implementation of the European directive, and in Brazil, by the National Solid Waste Policy. Understanding the impact of this policy on the national scientific production is essential to plan new directions and research trends. Through a bibliometric and scientometric studied, this research analyzed the national and global context of the last 20 years and found areas in which research progressed, as municipal solid waste, and essentials gaps to develop more the national state-of-the-art, as solid waste of transport. So, the results of this study are a plausible tool to justify for further research on this topic.

Over the last few years, Brazil has some problems related to the management of solid waste, mainly related to the final disposal of materials, resulting in serious environmental risks to the municipalities that suffer from this type of situation. Poorly designed landfills and weak management systems after the termination of their employment, for example, is currently showing as a major problem for urban expansion and the subsoil of these sites, endangering all the environmental quality of the areas where they are located . Because of this scenario, this work produced a diagnosis of the current situation of the management of solid waste in the city of Rio Claro (SP) from its generation, through selective collection and sorting, as well as its final destination, in order to propose a reflection on current form management, in order to present some guidelines based on Federal Law 12.305 / 2010 - National Solid Waste Policy for improvement of this issue in the city. Although the situation found in the city can be considered reasonable for good, there is a need to improve and how to manage, especially in the operational issue of selective collection and also the participation of society in the category Environmental Education, converging in the search for improvements to the common good

Having in sight the current inertia found on the school physical environments as well as on the High School learning methods used, digital games appear as a different tool to build the individuals'/students' knowledge and becomes a driving factor for this research. The usage of this media resource tries to rescue a stimulant type of learning focused on the students' experiences while getting them closer to Science, Technology and Society (STS). The usefulness of this method falls short, however, without the capacitated guidance of a teacher. A literature review has been made about the possible schooling that electronic/digital games provide; it also brings the opinions of students and teachers to help comprehend how the insertion of this new tool in the classroom happens, as well as its efficiency and acceptance. Having in sight the relationship between individuals and the preoccupations about the future of mankind, components of humanity's destiny have been evidenced in the teaching of Chemistry. It is possible to conclude that these games can, indeed, help in the teaching process, although it is necessary that they develop a main didactic role, linked to the teaching of concepts and content, or else become only educational for that matter. Using the tools given by digital games it is possible, for example, through playfulness, to teach the theory of many abstract models, mathematical equations and chemical formulas, making it possible then to grab the students' attention, to thrill them and to develop their participation based on the experience they so often already have with cell phones and personal computers

With highlighted sprint ability, the racing line is important segment within the Quarter Horses breed, with huge impact on agribusiness. Theseanimals have noted morphological differences when compared to other lines within the breed, especially for larger body size proportions.The objective of this study was to estimate genetic parameters forbody measurements traitsof the racing line of the Quarter Horses breed via Bayesian inference. Here,289 animals of both sexes, registered at brazilian association of breeders (ABQM), were used. The results showed high coefficient of heritability for body length (0.74) and back-loin lenght(0.61). The heritability coefficients for height at withersand croup length were moderate (0.44 and 0.47, respectively). High genetic correlation for body length and croup length and for body length and back-loins lengthwas also observed(0.80 and 0.76, respectively). Taking into account the estimates of heritability and genetic correlations between body measurement traits, the body length and height at withers traits proved to be appropriate to provide future researches that investigate the genetic correlation between body measurements and racing performance. O objetivo do desenvolvimento sustentável vem sendo buscado no Brasil desde a década de 1980, por ocasião da promulgação da Política Nacional do Meio Ambiente (Lei n. 6.938, de 31 de agosto de 1981). De lá para cá, e após a Conferência das Nações Unidas sobre o Meio Ambiente e o Desenvolvimento, também conhecida como ECO-92, Rio-92, Cúpula ou Cimeira da Terra, diversas políticas ambientais têm sido elaboradas sobre temas, desdes os mais tradicionais e clássicos (recursos florestais, recursos hídricos), até os mais recentes (resíduos sólidos, remueração de serviços ambientais). Este trabalho se propõe a apontar, descrever, sistematizar e selecionar alguns dos principais parâmetros que devem ser considerados, dentro de uma leitura predominantemente econômica, para efeitos de se avaliar e monitorar as políticas públicas na área ambiental. Como hipótese principal, defende-se que é possível indicar critérios que possam orientar a avaliação e acompanhamento das políticas públicas ambientais por parte dos distintos segmentos da sociedade e segundo diversos interesses específicos. Pretende-se utilizar o método indutivo para fins de se estabelecer uma conclusão que confirme ou afaste a hipótese principal deste trabalho. Foram identificados, ao final, alguns dos principais parâmetros que poderiam auxiliar, os segmentos da sociedade direta ou indiretamente envolvidos em determinado tema ambiental, a discutir, avaliar e monitorar os instrumentos de comando e controle, econômicos e outros consoante propostos para a implantação de um política pública ambiental.
