Expectativas de participantes, professores de educação física e assistentes sociais de um projeto social esportivo de pólo aquático

Currently there are numerous social projects scattered through out the country, including the sport, for the most part, aimed at children and teens considered at social vulnerability. These projects end up having as main guiding sports, these in turn take several purposes, among them, the sport recreation/socialization and professionalization of sport, which often end up being worked disassociated from one of another, forgetting that, in the same place, these different purposes can live therefore are the subjects that give meaning to their practice. In this sense, this research sought to understand the meanings that the participants in a social sports project water polo attribute to the practice. This project happens in a provincial city of São Paulo, serving about 2.300 children and teens and has as main objectives the social inclusion and training of high-performance athlete. The research, qualitative approach was characterized by an exploratory study and used the interview as collection technique. The study included 40 children and adolescents attending the project, as well as two social workers and two physical education teachers that working on the project. Desenvolvimento econômico e desigualdade social: um estudo sobre os aspectos sociais presentes na obra de Raúl Prebisch

This study aims to conduct an analysis on the social aspects present in the works of the Argentine economist Raúl Prebisch (1901-1986). Based on the author's research on the economic development of the peripheral countries, it will be demonstrated how the social and economic factors have interconnected in the developmental theory of the peripheral worldwide economy. To achieve this goal, the six works of Prebisch considered essentials by Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) were used as main bibliographic axis. Such texts are: Introduction to Keynes, The Economic Development of Latin America and Its Principal Problems, Economic development or monetary stability: the false dilemma, Towards a Dynamic Development Policy for Latin America, .Change and Development: Latin America's Great Task, Capitalismo periférico: crisis y transformación, Five stages in my thinking on development. Firstly the topics essential to economic development according to the author will be exposed, such as industrialization of peripheral countries as a means of raising the income of masses and the way it should be coordinated beyond the theoretical author's choice on historical events, the evolution of the deterioration of terms of trade between peripheral and central countries and the need for productivity gains to increase the income of the worker. Afterwards it will be exposed how such terms align with social inequalities and which definitions are incorporated by the author on the subject

(Des)Compromisso social e sofrimento: o processo de exclusão de travestis e transexuais do interior de São Paulo

Transvestites and transsexualsface everyday intense process of exclusion. The un(un)involvement to those people ethically and politically is a fact and comes from the State and Civil Society. The aims of this article are to analyzehow transgenderexperience their construction of identity in aheteronormative social context; the public health assistance, work and incomepursuit. The methodology used was qualitative action research. The conclusion is that suffering is the result of a process of right’s fight and pursuit for health, assistance and work. The situations of being treated as inferior persons, with no social value are experienced repeatedly.

Trajetória social de alunos de um curso pré-vestibular popular

The aim of the research that originated this article was the analysis of the social trajectory of students from a public preparatory course and the verification of their expectations about higher education. Data collection was based on a questionnaire with open and closed-ended questions and a semi-structured interview, based on the models used by Muzzetti (1997). Data were analyzed by the elaboration of thematic charts. Based on the researches conducted by Pierre Bourdieu (1997, 2007), this research concluded that the students understand that schooling is, besides being a viable alternative in the search for social ascension, the redeeming of social ills. Profession choice based on natural talent or divine gift generate expectations which attest the lack of knowledge about the school system by students and their parents, which is reinforced by the belief in opportunity equality.
