El plànol geomètric d'Elx del 1849

Este artículo estudia un extraordinario documento conservado en el Archivo Histórico Municipal de Elche: el plano geométrico de la ciudad a escala 1/1.250, y el borrador previo que sirvió para el delineado final. El plano está firmado y fechado el 05-10-1849. El origen del mismo fue la Real Orden de 25-07-1846 que fue cumplimentada por algunas ciudades españolas. A diferencia de los planos levantado con anterioridad, cuya finalidad era científica o militar, a partir de entonces, los planos se dibujaban con una específica finalidad urbanística, es decir como medio para controlar el espacio urbano y proyectar las expansiones futuras, aunque el de Elche no se llegó a aplicar nunca de forma significativa en lo que tenía de reforma de alineaciones, ya que no se trataba de un plano de ensanche. El autor fue Josep Gonzàlez, un maestro de obras académico, titular de la villa, que trabajó en Elche abundantemente en el ochocientos.

Catharine Waugh McCullouch papers in the Mary Earhart Dillon collection, 1869-1945

Collection primarily documents McCulloch's research on women's legal status, and her work with the Illinois Equal Suffrage Association, the National American Woman Suffrage Association, and the League of Women Voters. There is also documentation of women in the legal profession, of McCulloch's friendships with the other women suffragists and lawyers, and some biographical material. The papers contain little information about her family or social life.

A collection of the most approved pieces of music from various authors: transcribed while member of Harvard University, from July 1789 to July 1793

John Pierce kept this journal while he was a student at Harvard College. It consists of manuscript musical scores with annotations indicating the occasions at which the music was performed. These occasions included commencements, public exhibitions and Dudleian lectures. A note indicates that one anthem was prepared by Samuel Holyoke at Pierce's request, to be performed at Pierce's class commencement exercises, held on July 13, 1793. Several annotations were made in May 1794, the year following Pierce's graduation. There is a table of contents on the last page.
