This research aims to analyze the behavior of the central legislature in five key moments in the institutionalization of defense policy in Brazil: (i) the approval of the first version of the National Defense Policy, (ii) the creation of the Ministry of Defence (iii) the approval of the second version of the National Defense Policy, (iv) the approval of the National Defense Strategy, and (v) the approval of the Supplementary Law No. 136 of 2010 which, among other things, provides for the creation of the Book white National Defense. This process covers the mandates of the government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (1995-2010). Besides the description of each of the above moments, we discuss the performance of the country on the agenda of regional and international security and are raised the resources available to Congress in order to strengthen their participation in the formulation of defense policy. The approval processes for each of the policies and laws are related to provide a view of the Legislative Power's capacity or not to change matters that in general have been proposed by the Executive Power. Finally, the study identifies how the progress in the participation of the Legislative Power in matters of defense policy was shy, but important because it signifies the increase of representation in popular theme

O futebol nos dias de hoje representa algo muito maior do que um exercício físico ou uma atividade de descontração. Ele desempenha um papel dentro da sociedade que extrapola as perspectivas do jogo. Reduzir a análise sobre o futebol profissional apenas ao aspecto lúdico do esporte também diminui a concepção sobre o que ele realmente representa. Nos bastidores do espetáculo futebolístico existe um universo de atos políticos que abrangem diversas esferas do poder que por sua vez auxiliam na execução do esporte como um evento esportivo com milhões de espectadores. Uma das razões para que o âmbito político do esporte seja menos conhecido do que as táticas dos técnicos ou dribles dos jogadores é a cobertura feita pelos meios de comunicação. No decorrer de sua existência, o futebol se transformou em um evento globalizado que envolve em sua órbita muito mais do que apenas o aspecto esportivo. Com os anos, o esporte foi se firmando em diversos países como produto cultural e até mesmo ferramenta política. O que se vê contudo é a sobreposição midiática do jogo sobre a sua verdadeira estrutura. O entretenimento trazido pelo esporte ganha as páginas enquanto o jogo político que sustenta a realização do mesmo recebe uma atenção mais discreta das mídias. A proposta deste trabalho é analisar como foi feita a divulgação de notícias referentes à Copa do Mundo de 2014, que será realizada no Brasil, nos jornais Folha de S.Paulo e O Estado de S. Paulo durante o ano de 2012 através dos seus cadernos de esportes. O objetivo é compreender qual é o teor e a intensidade da cobertura sobre os fatos políticos que ajudam a dar forma ao evento mais importante do futebol. Acontecimentos desta proporção exigem preparação do país, o que implica em um trabalho em conjunto entre o Governo Federal e FIFA. Relações de Gênero, memória e identidades no Brasil do século XX

Gender relationships focusing on homages to the women of Assis (a town in the center-western region of the state of São Paulo, Brazil) between 1959 and 1994, are discussed. Homages, expressed in monuments, street names, city squares, schools, libraries, Cultural Centers and other places, are based on the activities of women who benefitted the community. They feature lawyers, politicians, journalists, teachers and common citizens that exceeded their personal limitations and conquered a place acknowledged by society (politically invested) so that their names may be inscribed in the city´s public places. However, acknowledgement of female contributions in the construction of the city is not projected at the same pace or speed as that of males who compose the gallery of ‘remembered men’. This fact brings forth the following questions: If the naming of public places were for decades based on gender, what had changed by the end of the 1950s for such a redefinition? What is the true meaning of such homages? Who are these women and what do they represent?

A influência da raça nas relações de poder: uma análise sobre o município de Araraquara

Analyzing the Brazilian people's formation and its ethnic variety, the racial issue is marked by racism as a tendency of thought that gathers different human races. The miscegenation originated by the crossbreeding occurred widely among Brazil and carried with it a racial prejudice based on European theses about the population's whitening. Since the arrival of the black population to the country, in the condition of slave, their image is stuck to the stigma of inferiority in relation to white people, making it difficult to have a political influence and introduce themselves into the Brazilian dominant elite. We intent to bring the discussion about local power, coronelismo and patronage, trying to demonstrate how the dominant elite's power and resources allocation schemes, put aside the lower-class from the political scene which is even worse for the black population regarding the suffered racial prejudice. Assuming the matters described above, we argue around the insertion of the black people into the political scenario, taking the City of Araraquara -SP as target to analyze the conditions that prevents them from achieving high positions inside the public sector and develop the issue between representation, social inclusion and political participation

This study addresses the topic of e-commerce as a competitive strategy for companies seeking innovation and to reach new markets. In last few years, the e-commerce has intensified in Brazil, as a result, many companies have adapted to that new market demand and have invested in new strategies. An example, is the use of social medias to promote the products, specifically the fashion retail industry, which promotes its products through partnerships with fashion blogs. To prove this new market trend, based on researches and indicators, this study will present growth data of e-commerce in Brazil, the fashion industry characteristics and the influence of blogs to increase sales, to further, understand its relation to the growth in e-commerce of fashion and future expectations
