The professional market for physical education and fitness demands for perfect and aesthetically beautiful bodies from its professionals, and the additional pressure of media, both add to the risk for body image dissatisfaction among these professional, increasing the risk for developing body image distortions and, ultimately, eating disorders. Body image dissatisfaction affects more women in their attempts for thin ideal. However, lately, because of social pressure for body aesthetical habits in both genders, men are faced with higher risk for distortions in body perception, leading to unhealthy eating habits and pathogenic exercise. With this in mind, the purpose of this study was to compare freshmen and senior physical education (PE) students from the State University of São Paulo (UNESP), as well as to make gender comparisons. Two groups comprise each, 46 freshmen PE students (23 females and 23 males), average age 18.7 ± 1.7 years; and 26 senior PE students (13 females and 13 males), average age 23 ± 1.9 years. Both groups filled out the questionnaires: Eating Attitudes Test/ EAT-26, Body Shape Questionnaire/ BSQ, Body Shape Questionnaire/ BSQ, and motivation state questionnaire/ LEA-RI. Results showed that the majority of participants wanted to change some aspect of their looks; women were more dissatisfied with their bodies than men; eating behavior scores were within the normal range for both groups. Finally, freshmen PE students are at a higher risk for body image distortion than senior PE students. We concluded that women, as well as younger individuals in general, are at higher risk for body image distortions. It is likely that experience in the further years of a physical education course has positive impact on body self image.

Schilder(1980) defines body image as the figuration of the body in your mind,ie to the way the body is presented to all. This image is constructed from six months in the infant´s contact with his mother by touch,thought the reflection of his image in the mirror and then in the contexto f activies préschool- didatic educator pedagogical proposes by consolidating the six years age. This importance of stdying the construction of body image pré-school educator is to prevent a failure in the process causing the child to change that image generating blocks and physical or psychological dificulties in the socialization process of children by promoting distortion of body image . O study objective is to understand how such package is the process of building up this image in preschool and your contribution to the process of learning of child. A methodology was a research review on amaig body, enconpassing the overall development of child and adult disorders the failure of the process constructive in this picture and a brief educational propose of how early childhood educator can work with this theme in pré-school. This study concluded that this topic is important to be working in the Field of education encompasses a degree in Physical Education and Pedagogy words.

The comet assay is a method of DNA damage analysis widely used to quantify oxidative damage, crosslinks of DNA, apoptosis and genotoxicity of chemicals substances as chemical, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals products, among others. This technique is suitable to detect DNA strand breaks, alkali-labile sites and incomplete excision repair sites and is based on the migration of DNA fragments by microeletroforesis, DNA migrates for the anode forming a “tail”, and the formed image has the appearance of a comet. The slides can be stained with fluorescence or silver, having differences in the microscopy type used for the analysis and the possibility of storage of the slides, moreover, the first one is a stained-method with more difficulties of accomplishment. The image analysis can be performed by a visual way, however, there is a disadvantage as the subjectivity on the results, that can be minimized by an automated method of digital analysis. This process was studied in this report with the aim to perceive the validation of the digital analysis turning it a quantitative method with larger reproductibility, minimizing the variability and imprecision due to the subjective analysis. For this validation we selected 50 comets photographed in a standardized way and printed, afterwards, pictures were submitted to three experienced appraisers, who quantified them manually. Later, the images were processed by free software ImageJ 1.38x, printed and quantified manually by the same appraisers. The intraclass correlation was higher to comet measures after image processing. Following, an algorithm of automated digital analysis from the measures of the comet was developed; the values obtained were compared with those 12 estimated manually after the processing resulting high correlation among the measures. The signal-to-noise ratio and image uniformity analysis parameters are very important in quality control of an MRI scanner. They are measured in regular tests with phantoms. In these tests, however, used to quadrature coil, which has been most widely used clinically, and, therefore, was replaced in the procedures for body coil. In order to understand the difference between these two parameters in these coils, the study aimed to analyze the images acquired from four different phantoms in the same equipment under the same conditions for comparison purposes. With these results, it can be concluded that the body coil signal-to-noise ratio has always smaller than the quadrature in any projection, whereas the image uniformity is larger

The objective of this paper is to discuss the construction of the image of São Paulo state public schools teachers in the public sphere, by the media and the trade union press, and see how that image is formed in both of them, without making any comparisons, from the covering of 2010 strikes by newspapers Folha de S. Paulo and Jornal da Apeoesp. This paper uses as theoretical basis the study of Media Hegemony, the concept of Radical Media and Public Sphere, as well as the relationship between them and social movements. It also considers the observation of the history and characteristics of trade union press and the Standards of Manipulation by the Press, proposed by Perseu Abramo. The chosen method was the identification, selection and organization of stories about education published by Folha de S. Paulo during the period; the application of Abramo’s proposed manipulation standards on the stories about the strike; research, selection and observation of print publications (Jornal da Apeoesp and newsletters Apeoesp Urgente) about the strike, published by Apeoesp during the same period

Cartography is one of the languages that express the knowledge of the geographic space and, therefore, the official curriculum proposals have highlighted the importance of the geography teaching which articulates its contents with this language in primary education. So, we present an analysis of the content selected to the curriculum mapping specifications of the São Paulo faz escola material, specifically for the 6th year of Elementary School II, version 2009. From the perspective of qualitative research, with instruments and techniques of quantitative and qualitative research, we analyzed documents and observed little concern with the proposition works that present the physical and social characteristics of the state of São Paulo. Also, we noticed the lack of concern with representations in local and regional scales. The research brings many examples on the global scale. It explores few activities using graphics and charts. Despite bringing thematic maps in their entirety, it does not show an example of conical projection as well as cartograms and anamorphosis. Imagem corporal é um construto multifacetado que une desde a percepção até as atitudes das pessoas sobre seu próprio corpo e compreende o conceito que cada pessoa tem de seu corpo e a sua representação mental. A deficiência física e a construção negativa da imagem corporal pode fazer com que o auto-conceito do indivíduo também fique negativo, ampliando valores estigmatizantes, preconceituosos e que reforçam sentimentos de inferioridade, baixa auto-estima, exclusão social e depressão. A prática regular de exercício físico além de propiciar a reabilitação oferece benefícios para a saúde com vantagens fisiológicas (e.g. prevenção e redução de efeitos de doenças como diabetes, hipertensão, cardiopatia e osteoporose) e vantagens psico-sociais (e.g. redução de estresse, melhora na auto-estima e imagem corporal). A imagem corporal freqüentemente está associada com atitudes alimentares uma vez que distorções na imagem podem ser sintomas de distúrbios alimentares. O presente estudo teve o objetivo de verificar se distúrbios alimentares e alterações na imagem corporal tem relação com a prática esportiva por pessoas com deficiência física. Foram avaliados 22 atletas praticantes de basquete sobre rodas (32 ± 9 anos) e 22 deficientes físicos não atletas (35 ± 11 anos). A avaliação de atitudes alimentares foi realizada pelo Teste de Atitudes Alimentares (EAT 26 - Eating Attitude Test. Garner e Garfinkel, 1979) e avaliação da imagem corporal foi realizada pelo Questionário de Imagem Corporal (BSQ – Body Shape Questionnaire. Cooper et al, 1987) e pelo Questionário sobre Deficiência Física e Estima Corporal (PDBEQ – George Taleporos et al, 2002). The struggle for land is not a recent theme in Brazilian history. Since colonization, people have fought and resisted against oppression and injustice in the countryside, as can be evidenced by the highwaymen, peasant leagues and the war of Canudos. More recently, the struggle for land and agrarian reform can be evidenced by the struggles of the MST, CONTAG, CPT and other movements. For these movements, denominated as socioterritorial movements, land/territory is an essential condition for their existence and for the maintenance of their territoriality. The present paper examines the geography of socioterritorial moviments: the construction of the concept of socioterritorial movements and their forms of action and scales of actuation in the period 2000 to 2012, focusing on the movements that have been most active. These movements are studied through as analysis of data of the Land Struggle Data Base (Banco de Dados da Luta pela Terra –DATALUTA), print and digital media reports and a bibliographic survey of the literature. The action of socioterritorial movements can be studied through the forms of land occupations and demonstrations in the countryside which are the principal means of the struggle against large landholders, agribusiness and the State. These actions question the model of development which privileges agribusiness and, as such, are viewed by some as a hindrance to the development of the country. Over the years, the number of socioterritorial moviments, and their actions have oscillated due to a series of factors, such as repression (criminalization of members and violence against them), policies adopted by Brazilian governments and the contradictions inherent in very process of the spacialization of the struggle for land. A presente monografia tem a finalidade de refletir como a imagem poética é construída na poesia concreta de Augusto de Campos. Para isso, será utilizada a teoria de alguns estudiosos, como Alfredo Bosi, Octavio Paz, Philadelpho Menezes, Aguillar, entre outros, para embasar a reflexão sobre a imagem poética que se desenha a partir da leitura da poesia por meio das palavras que compõem a produção artística. Há uma ênfase, durante a análise das poesias, nas palavras que as constituem, pois elas formam um elemento fundamental para a criação da imagem poética na produção da poesia concretista. O trabalho também reflete sobre a repercussão do movimento Concretista em décadas distintas (50,70 e 90) e em diferentes vertentes, como na música, nos âmbitos nacional e internacional, ressaltando a importância do Concretista para o enriquecimento da poesia, especialmente as compostas por Augusto de Campos. Também será mencionada a diferença entre a poesia visual e a poesia concreta. Para isso, serão explicitadas as suas peculiaridades e as suas propostas

This research work aims to analyze and understand the teaching of geography in the perspective of historical and critical pedagogy, with the object of analysis, the Center for Integrated Natural Disaster Alerts (CIADEN) for students in Cycle I of the Elementary School, located in Etec “Astor de Mattos Carvalho”, in Cabrália Paulista-SP. Deepening the knowledge of geography teaching in a critical and controversial about the bad weather and the use of new technologies to transform the social order and its relationship with the environment. Contributing to the students and the community have a new proposal for action from the content learned, capable of solving the present and future with respect to weather, climate and natural disasters. It is commonplace to rely on the notion that thought is expressed from a historical and geographical context that reveals the special nature of the thinking subject. In ways and wanderings of thought, the literature shows up as a means both permissive and facilitating the possibility of expression of thought, from the written language, also depend on the temporalities and spatialities that concern you. Based on the identification of a dominant matrix of thought, given by comtean positivism and the neopositivism or logical positivism, a historical and geographical context imbued with the defining characteristics of temporalities and spatialities own perspective and written language as a medium and as support for expression of thought is that we propose to discuss the clues that identify the Lobato narrative expressed in Geography of Dona Benta, a work dating from 1935, an idea of space and nation. What notions of geographic space tells Lobato? What are your references to address landscape and territory? What representation of nation and national identity proposes in his narrative? Pursuing this aim, we seek to contribute to the substantiation of geographical knowledge from a critical effort of thinking about and doing geography

The Caudal Cervical Spondylomyelopathy, also known as “Wobbler syndrome” is a neurological disorder that affects mainly breeds of large and giant size, especially Doberman pinsher and Great danes. Its aetiology is multifactorial and leads to a narrowing of the spinal canal by morphological and positional caudal cervical vertebrae (C5, C6 and C7), causing compression of the spinal cord and nerve roots. The clinical signs presented by the affected animals are progressive ataxia of hindlimbs and, later, the forelimbs, sometimes progressing to tetraparesis. Neck pain may be present. The diagnosis is made through the association of clinical signs and diagnostic imaging such as radiography, myelography, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. According to the classification of the lesion obtained by imaging examinations, the conservative or surgical treatment is established and the prognosis is variable in accordance with the degree of affection of the spinal cord

O Projeto de pesquisa Mensagem, imagem e ideologias centrou seu foco principal na análise de figuras e signos ideológicos contidos nas placas e nos outdoors da cidade de Rio Claro-SP e região, no âmbito de divulgação de Instituições de Ensino. Pesquisamos os eixos transversais sobre a visão de educação e infância, a ponte entre os signos e o visual, as idéias contidas no processo das propagandas e o que se pretende vender com as imagens e os códigos expostos. Determinamos tais meios de comunicação, com propagandas de escolas de quase todos os níveis de escolaridade, para demonstrar e ilustrar as idéias contidas na aliança entre o capitalismo e a mídia, principalmente a fim de explicitar os fundamentos políticos, suas concepções e possíveis implicações na administração do processo educacional.

Introdução: Até o presente momento, nenhum estudo analisou a relação entre imagem corporal (IC) e dança em adultos jovens e adultos idosos. Dados dessa natureza podem auxiliar no entendimento da influência da dança na imagem corporal, bem como evidenciar seus benefícios em diferentes populações. Objetivo: Investigar a IC de adultos jovens e adultos idosos praticantes de dança. Método: Participaram deste estudo 10 adultos jovens e 10 adultos idosos do gênero feminino praticantes regulares de diversas modalidades de dança que responderam, voluntariamente, à versão brasileira do Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) adaptado pela autora para a dança e à Escala de Silhuetas para Adultos (ES) e foram questionados sobre seu peso e estatura para cálculo do Índice de Massa Corporal (IMC). O grupo controle foi composto por 10 adultas jovens e 10 idosas fisicamente ativas que responderam à versão brasileira do BSQ (sem adaptação) e à Escala de Silhuetas e também foram questionados sobre seu peso e estatura. Na análise estatística final, para a comparação entre os grupos foi utilizado o Mann-Whitney Test. Resultados: No instrumento BSQ, para as variáveis idade e dança, o Mann- Whitney Test não apontou diferença significativa (p≤0,05). No instrumento ES, para as variáveis idade e dança, o Mann-Whitney Test também não apontou diferença significativa (p≤0,05). Conclusão: Tanto a atividade física quanto a dança apresentaram ser um bom instrumento para melhora da IC. Entretanto, considera-se de extrema relevância a realização de mais pesquisas nesta área. Uma amostra maior também poderia confirmar os dados já encontrados neste estudo e na literatura, em termos de significância estatística
