Objective: evaluate the knowledge obtained by students from the last year of Odontology about distance education and their opinions about the subject. Methods: across-sectional descriptive exploratory study was conducted. Of the total 140 university students, 120 participated in the study. A self-applied questionnaire was developed with questions related to the student, the use of the Internet and distance education. The professional updating alternatives included were graduate courses and subscription to newspapers. Results: 29.2 % of the students use the Internet on a daily basis; only one student stated that he did not use the Internet. Of the students interviewed, 63.34 % did not know any form of distance education. As a consequence, 97.5 % had never taken part in a distance education course and 62.5 % stated that they did not know whether they would. The present study aims to demonstrate the evaluation of the accomplishment results of a practical curricular adaptation activity to facilitate the academic progress of students with special educational needs. This activity is a requirement to mandatory subject of a refinement course called "Special and Inclusive Education Practices in mental deficiency issues". The course was accomplished in a virtual environment through TelEduc platform. On this text the evaluation of a 30-studentsample will be presented. The survey results highlight that curricular adaptation is a viable didactic-methodological strategy for intellectual deficient students to access the normal curriculum.

The idea of "mature development" is based, frequently, on explanations of school failure: the student does not learn because he is immature and the school has to wait until he gets "mature". When one says that a child is not mature compared to the development already attained by an adult, one focuses only the quantitative differences between them and forgets that these new qualities of the adult did not arise by the maturation, but by the permanent appropriation process of the human culture. Thus, this idea of "maturity of development" expresses a deep biologization of the human being, reducing social and educational problems explanation to the biological apparatus of the individual. The purpose of this essay is to analyze the relationship between maturation and development, pointing out the limits of biologists’ explanations of human phenomena and the possibilities of explanation formulated by the historical-cultural theory to the organization of pedagogical work. This concept gives a new configuration to the role of maturation in the learning process and gives the school education a central role in the development of higher psychological functions. Thus, the school does not have to wait for the child’s maturation. Rather, it is its duty to create conditions for his/her maturation to become effective.

This article is inserted in a wider study that seeks to understand the main inclusion barriers in Physics classes for students with visual impairment It aims to understand which communication context favors or impedes the visually impaired student participation to the impairment visual student’s real participation in Modern Physics activities. The research defines, from the empirical-sensory and semantics structures, the languages used in the activities, as well as, the moment and the speech pattern in which those languages have been used. As a result, this study identifies a strong relation between the uses of the interdependent empirical structure audio-visual language in the non-interactive episodes of authority; a decrease of this structure use in the interactive episodes; the creation of education segregation environments within the clasroom and the frequent use of empirical tactile-hearing interdependent language structure in these environments. Moreover, the concept of «special educational need» is discussed and its inadequate use is analyzed. Suggestions are given for its correct use of «special educational need,» its inadequate use, giving suggestions for its correct use.

From the second half of the twentieth century, due to several factors that have attracted industries and public investments to the city, São José dos Campos has begun to stand out in the economic and industrial scenario. Consequently, the city received a big migratory flow of workers, families and those who seeked a better life, which caused the horizontal e vertical expansion of the city. With the high demand of urban spaces and increasing of property speculation, the verticalization process was necessary. Along with the constructions of new buildings, the first models of the modern architecture began to emerge

This work aims to assess a case ofwaterproofing pathology, from the presentation of the pathological manifestations, thecharacterization and quantification of negotiationsproposals. With these data, graphs were elaborated with thepurpose ofemphasizing the cost increase from the time of intervention, to give an increase of 1,429.00 % inthe presented study. Also show the proportion of spending on finishes and waterproofing, demonstratingthe greatinfluence of the finishes in the composition of the treatment costs. Inthisstudy, it was foundthat these finishes made up89% of the total cost. In the bibliographic reference, presented to the active mechanisms, the characterization of waterproofing systems and the most common pathologies. It follows the importance of sealing to ensure integrity of a construction

The rising in greenhouse gases emission as consequence of industrial expansion especially in developing countries is appointed as one of those reasons responsible for global warming. High-level temperatures are set as responsible for low productivity and high levels of discomfort. With the increase of worldwide energy demand, due to the population growth, this work aims to be an introductory text revising the current ventilation (mechanical and natural) and refrigeration technologies as well as low energy cooling techniques and architectural alternatives that seeks offering good ventilation and ideal buildings temperatures, making them sustainable. In addition, the text deals with the measurement instruments used to evaluate the parameters defined by international and national standards. At last, a case of study applies few concepts and technologies described in the text, introducing the results achieved, the limitations and suggestions to future works
