Iowa Department on Aging Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Annual Report 2009, (Federal Fiscal Year October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009), January 2010.

The State Long-Term Care Ombudsman program operates as a unit within the Iowa Department on Aging. Duties of all long-term care ombudsmen are mandated by the Older Americans Act. This office serves people living in nursing facilities, skilled nursing facilities, residential care facilities, nursing facilities in hospitals, elder group homes and assisted living programs. In order to carry out all of the mandates of the Older Americans Act this office recommends to increase the number of staff and create a volunteer ombudsman program. NOTE: The second file includes a correction to the report on page 8.

Annual Report of the Iowa Highway Research Board Research and Development Activities FY 2009

The Highway Division of the Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) engages in research and development for two reasons: first, to find workable solutions to the many problems that require more than ordinary, routine investigation; and second, to identify and implement improved engineering and management practices. This report, entitled ―Iowa Highway Research Board Research and Development Activities FY2009‖ is submitted in compliance with Sections 310.36 and 312.3A, Code of Iowa, which direct the submission of a report of the Secondary Road Research Fund and the Street Research Fund, respectively. It is a report of the status of research and development projects in progress on June 30, 2009. It is also a report on projects completed during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2009. Detailed information on each of the research and development projects mentioned in this report is available from the Research and Technology Bureau, Highway Division, Iowa Department of Transportation. 2009 Annual Report on behalf of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (the Commission). The Commission is committed to maintaining a vibrant gaming industry that provides economic growth and development for the State of Iowa while continuing to promote responsible gaming and ensuring continued participation in the "Buy Iowa First" program. Although revenues at the casinos slipped during the year reflecting the general downturn in the economy, the gaming industry once again contributed over $1 billion to the state's economy, including over $300 million in gaming taxes.

Research Activities Credit Annual Report for the Period July 1, 2009 – December 31, 2009

Annual report on individuals and companies that claim the Iowa Research Activities Tax Credit. The report includes the total amount of Regular Research Activities Tax Credit claims, the total amount of Supplemental Research Activities Tax Credit claims, the total amount of Research Activities Tax Credit claims paid as refunds, the amounts of Research Activities Tax Credits claimed against corporate income tax and against individual income tax, and the names of taxpayers and the amounts claimed for taxpayers that claimed in excess of $500,000 of Research Activities Tax Credits.
