Cet exemplaire de la Lectura d’Henri de Suso sur les Décrétales, dont il ne reste que le premier volume, présente la particularité de contenir aussi le texte des Décrétales, chacune d’elles étant suivie par le commentaire correspondant. Certaines anomalies de la copie permettent de préciser que les copistes avaient comme modèle deux manuscrits différents, un pour la Lectura et l’autre pour les Décrétales dans une édition augmentée des Novelles d'Innocent IV, qui devaient être insérées à la suite des titres correspondants, selon la prescription pontificale de 1245. Le texte même des Novelles qui n’était pas commenté dans la Lectura n’a pas été repris dans la copie, sauf l’Extravagante Quia frequenter, au f. 37v, et Sext. I, 13, 1, au f. 133. F. 1-360v. Lugdun", qui a été inscrit à la fin des titres I, 3 (25v), 6, (85), 10 (103), 28 (132v), 29 (153), 30 (155v), 31 (164) correspond, en fait, à l'inscription des Novelles d'Innocent IV éditées dans le Sexte, livre I, en tête des titres 3, 6, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16.Au f. 37v, à la suite d'Extra 1, 6, 6, le texte de la constitution d'Innocent IV Quia frequenter a été copié, puis exponctué en marge par un correcteur avec la mention "vacat": "Quia frequenter in electione summorum pontificum colupna Dei... - ...minime computato" avec l'inscription: "Idem" écrite à la fin de la Décrétale précédente qui renvoie à Alexandre III. Au f. 205, le copiste a mal apprécié l’espace réservé pour Extra 6, 2, le texte commencé normalement en gros module d'écriture, se poursuit en petit module et se termine dans la marge inférieure. De même, au f. 227, les dernières lignes d’ Extra 12, 7 ont dû être écrites dans la marge, avec un signe de renvoi. F. 360v-362. Effectiveness of glatiramer acetate compared to other multiple sclerosis therapies.

OBJECTIVE To assess the effectiveness of glatiramer acetate (GA) compared to other multiple sclerosis (MS) therapies in routine clinical practice. MATERIALS AND METHODS Observational cohort study carried out in MS patients treated with GA (GA cohort) or other MS therapies -switched from GA- (non-GA cohort). Study data were obtained through review of our MS patient database. The primary endpoint was the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) scores reached at the end of treatment/last check-up. RESULTS A total of 180 patients were included: GA cohort n = 120, non-GA cohort n = 60. Patients in the GA cohort showed better EDSS scores at the end of treatment/last check-up (mean ± SD, 2.8 ± 1.8 vs. 3.9 ± 2.2; P = 0.001) and were 1.65 times more likely to show better EDSS scores compared to the non-GA cohort (odds ratio, 0.606; 95%CI, 0.436-0.843; P = 0.003). Patients in the GA cohort showed longer mean time to reach EDSS scores of 6 (209.1 [95%CI, 187.6-230.6] vs. 164.3 [95% CI, 137.0-191.6] months; P = 0.004) and slower disability progression (hazard ratio, 0.415 [95%CI, 0.286-0.603]; P < 0.001). The annualized relapse rate was lower in the GA cohort (mean ± SD, 0.5 ± 0.5 vs. 0.8 ± 0.5; P = 0.001) and patients' quality of life was improved in this study cohort compared to the non-GA cohort (mean ± SD, 0.7 ± 0.1 vs. 0.6 ± 0.2; P = 0.01). CONCLUSIONS GA may slow down the progression of EDSS scores to a greater extent than other MS therapies, as well as achieving a greater reduction in relapses and a greater improvement in patients' quality of life. Switching from GA to other MS therapies has not proved to entail a better response to treatment.

Purification and characterization of two enantioselective alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenases, RdpA and SdpA, from Sphingomonas herbicidovorans MH.

Alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent (R)-dichlorprop dioxygenase (RdpA) and alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent (S)-dichlorprop dioxygenase (SdpA), which are involved in the degradation of phenoxyalkanoic acid herbicides in Sphingomonas herbicidovorans MH, were expressed and purified as His6-tagged fusion proteins from Escherichia coli BL21(DE3)(pLysS). RdpA and SdpA belong to subgroup II of the alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenases and share the specific motif HXDX(24)TX(131)HX(10)R. Amino acids His-111, Asp-113, and His-270 and amino acids His-102, Asp-104, and His 257 comprise the 2-His-1-carboxylate facial triads and were predicted to be involved in iron binding in RdpA and SdpA, respectively. RdpA exclusively transformed the (R) enantiomers of mecoprop [2-(4-chloro-2-methylphenoxy)propanoic acid] and dichlorprop [2-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)propanoic acid], whereas SdpA was specific for the (S) enantiomers. The apparent Km values were 99 microM for (R)-mecoprop, 164 microM for (R)-dichlorprop, and 3 microM for alpha-ketoglutarate for RdpA and 132 microM for (S)-mecoprop, 495 microM for (S)-dichlorprop, and 20 microM for alpha-ketoglutarate for SdpA. Both enzymes had high apparent Km values for oxygen; these values were 159 microM for SdpA and >230 microM for RdpA, whose activity was linearly dependent on oxygen at the concentration range measured. Both enzymes had narrow cosubstrate specificity; only 2-oxoadipate was able to replace alpha-ketoglutarate, and the rates were substantially diminished. Ferrous iron was necessary for activity of the enzymes, and other divalent cations could not replace it. Although the results of growth experiments suggest that strain MH harbors a specific 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid-converting enzyme, tfdA-, tfdAalpha-, or cadAB-like genes were not discovered in a screening analysis in which heterologous hybridization and PCR were used.

Personality and repeated suicide attempts in dependent adolescents and young adults.

This study compared personality characteristics of subjects with dependence disorders who had previously made a suicide attempt. The population, recruited in France, Belgium, and Switzerland, was composed of 570 subjects (225 females, 345 males, mean age = 27.3, SD = 8.5). The subjects' psychological dimensions were investigated by means of several self-report questionnaires including: BDI-13 (Beck), Sensation-Seeking Scale (Zuckerman), Toronto Alexithymia Scale (Taylor), Interpersonal Dependency Inventory (Hirschfeld), MMPI-2, and some additional scales. For most dimensions, repeat attempters, both past and recent, but more specifically the recent repeaters, had a more severe psychological profile compared to the other suicide attempters.

Disseny, desenvolupament i integració d'una nova capa presentació mitjançant Google Web Toolkit per a l'aplicació d'innovació docent InnovaCampus

InnovaCampus és una aplicació d'innovació docent que proporciona a la comunitat educativa una eina online d'autoavaluació per a estudiants universitaris. Aquesta eina permet als estudiants avaluar els seus coneixements i als professors analitzar-ne els resultats per tal d'extreure'n les corresponents conclusions. L'eina ha evolucionat any a any, i recentment s'ha dut a terme un redisseny de l'aplicació per tal d'aconseguir una aplicació modular utilitzant una arquitectura de tres capes que afavoreixi a futures ampliacions. Les capes de persistència i de negoci han estat desenvolupades en una primera fase del redisseny i la capa de presentació és la que dóna lloc al present projecte. Així doncs, el projecte consisteix en dissenyar, desenvolupar i integrar una nova capa de presentació de l'aplicació, amb la finalitat de proporcionar una interfície interactiva, àgil i eficient per tal d'obtenir un entorn amigable amb propietats visuals avançades. Tot plegat es pretén aconseguir integrant el framework Google Web Toolkit a l'estructura ja creada mitjançant el framework Spring i JPA.

Expression of neuroectodermal antigens common to melanomas, gliomas, and neuroblastomas. I. Identification by monoclonal anti-melanoma and anti-glioma antibodies.

The reactivity spectrum of five different monoclonal anti-melanoma antibodies cross-reacting with gliomas and neuroblastomas and one monoclonal anti-glioma antibody cross-reacting with melanomas and neuroblastomas was investigated. Comparison of the binding activity of these monoclonal antibodies for 11 melanoma, seven glioma, and three neuroblastoma cell lines showed that each of these clones had a different pattern of cross-reactivity. The results indicated that the antigenic determinants detected by these antibodies were not associated with the same antigen and thus suggested the existence of at least six different antigens common to melanomas, gliomas, and neuroblastomas. Since all these tumors are known to derive from cells originating embryologically from the neural crest, it can be assumed that the antigens recognized by our monoclonal antibodies are neuroectodermal differentiation antigens. However, absorption with fetal brain homogenates abolished only the binding of monoclonal anti-glioma antibody, but did not modify the binding of monoclonal anti-melanoma antibodies.

Restrições causadas pela incontinência urinária à vida da mulher

O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar as restrições causadas pela incontinência urinária (IU) à vida da mulher, considerando-se o tipo de incontinência, e verificar como manejam este problema. Trata-se de uma análise secundária de dados obtidos em estudo anterior, coletados por meio de entrevista com perguntas abertas e fechadas. A amostra foi composta por 164 mulheres com queixa de IU, internadas em clínicas de ginecologia e urologia de dois hospitais-escola da cidade de Campinas, SP. Apresentavam idade entre 25 e 85 anos e 104 (64%) referiram uma ou mais restrições. Citaram alterações nas atividades sexuais (40,9%), sociais (33,5%), domésticas (18,9%) e ocupacionais (15,2%). A incontinência urinária mista e a de urgência forem as que mais afetavam a vida das mulheres. A estratégia mais utilizada para minimizar a IU foi o uso de forro e/ou absorvente higiênico. Concluiu-se que a IU tem implicações negativas no cotidiano dessas mulheres.
