The aim of this study is to investigate the spontaneous use of medicinal plants by volunteer patients in the treatment of hypertension and to determine the most used plants in this situation. Data were collected through a questionnaire and a semi-structured guided interview applied to patients from a health center in the Midwest region of the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Quantitative analysis identified a high number of hypertensive patients spontaneously using herbal treatment. The referred plants were identified by the Herbarium Botu and researched in the literature as to their therapeutic actions. The biggest mistake was observed in the misuse of the Bilberry for the treatment of hypertension, which reveals that health professionals and the community in general should be more careful. As a result we have published an informative booklet, with emphasis on hypertension concepts and on the use of medicinal plants as an alternative therapy method for this disease in order to provide scientific knowledge and scientific research evidence to this practice.

Drawing an equivalence analogy between the subjects of style and the ornamentation, the study leans on Alos Riegl's theory in order to sketch an anthropological reflection for the appearance of the design and some of their respective confluences with the art. Enriched by the progresses that the psychology of the visual perception provided to the contemporary understanding for the artistic representation, and consequently of this historicity, breaks of the hypothesis that this appearance has given in a process naturally evolutionary, aiming at to supply an inherent human need.

This research is based on the reflection about the current culture of fruit packages, the standard that states the format and its materials, in the context of a contemporaneous design. It covers space representation issues, material and form representation in addition to the conditioner of the format of the pack as standard load and not the product itself. To analyze the factors related to packaging, we studied the systematic thinking, holistic or ecological and data were arranged in the form of systemic mind maps. The research aims to contribute with information to help in diagnosing the problem in its complexity and interconnected web of factors in order to facilitate better planning of packaging for fruit culture in a future sustainable society.

The aim of this paper is to discuss the importance of training teachers to use Web 2.0 in the classroom. Its intention was to fi nd out whether students are familiar with the main Web 2.0 resources and know how to exploit their potential in the development of teaching activities. In addition to the literature review, we developed a fi eld exploratory-descriptive research. The research was held in a private university located in the city of Bauru (So Paulo State, Brazil). We selected 213 students enrolled in Supervised Training III course, which is part of the teacher training curriculum available for students in the second year of undergraduate course. Results concluded that the students surveyed have access to computers and the Internet, are relatively skilled in handling the available tools and recognize the importance of including them in the teaching and learning process. The students demonstrate diffi culty using the web in a didactic manner, particularly the Web 2.0, which involves a focus on users and collaboration. Therefore, the article points to the need to rethink teacher training courses in order to include practical activities aimed at the use of technology as a teaching resource.

Based on systemic-cybernetic-new paradigm vision and social constructionism, the paper is an invitation to reflect on the importance of language in the maintenance and the possibility of changing unequal relational patterns, mainly related to issues of gender. Studies on language and verbal behavior of women and men, besides their representation in the media, are examples to illustrate the need advocated here, to changing patterns of inequality guided by gender differences that influence and are influenced by the culture, conveyed in our social network. This paper is a contribution for the clinical work with families and couples, from the perspective of the current behaviors, based on refrains spread by the media which became popular, since it is based on clinical and nonclinical observations about human relationships and its representation in the media and artistic productions.

O projeto Observatrio do Esporte um programa radiofnico que desde 2010 veiculado pela Rdio UNESP FM, na madrugada da sexta para o sbado meia-noite com reprises aos sbados s 11 horas da manh, onde por meio da estratgia do infotretenimento so discutidos assuntos diversos do cotidiano esportivo com uma anlise mais aprofundada, principalmente da mdia esportiva. Com uma abordagem de avaliao multi-metodolgica, o projeto busca articular extenso e profissionalizao em jornalismo e radialismo esportivo para que o ensino-aprendizado dos alunos e bolsistas dos cursos de graduao e ps-graduao de Comunicao Social da FAAC Faculdade de Arquitetura, Artes e Comunicao da Unesp Bauru ocorra de modo atualizado , dinmico e ligado pesquisa emprica em Comunicao.

A viso estreo uma forma eficiente para navegao, pois com a estimativa de profundidade, possvel verificar se um caminho pr determinado pode ser utilizado para chegar ao destino definido, e ainda estimar durante qual profundidade esta mesma estimativa continuar sendo vlida. As imagens capturadas por cada cmera so retificadas, de forma que as mesmas fiquem alinhadas horizontalmente, colaborando-se assim com o desempenho dos algoritmos de correspondncia, responsveis pela construo da matriz de disparidades. Com base nessa matriz, criada a matriz de disparidade V para que seja possvel mapear a informao de profundidade de cada objeto, os quais podem representar obstrues e anteparos na cena observada.

Esse trabalho utiliza um sistema de viso catadiptrico para capturar imagens de um cenrio natural agrcola e realizar o levantamento de regies que possam auxiliar diversas aplicaes na rea da Robtica Mvel Agrcola. Os sistemas de viso catadiptricos buscam capturar uma imagem 360 do ambiente a partir da combinao de lentes e espelhos. A imagem omnidirecional retificada e seus quadrantes so extrados, originando quatro novas imagens que representam lados de viso do veculo. Uma etapa de segmentao por cor proposta utilizando como base o algoritmo Otsu Thresholding. No final do processo, possvel visualizar as regies de interesse de cada quadrante.
