Novos trilhos: a reinserção da área da estação ferroviária de Dracena no contexto urbano atual

Dracena, located in Presidente Prudente's region and founded in 1945, is a coffe and cotton's expansion and had your development by the advance of the Paulista Company of Railroads' tracks. For a long time the train was part of the city's and people's daily life. However, with the decline of rail trasport, the train station and a whole have become spaces without meaning and use. Thus, this final graduation work os Architecural and Urbanism course, aims to reintegrate in the urban área of Dracena Station and upgrade their space. To this end, based on the critical restoration theories and the projective references chosen were proposed the restoration of the railway station building and the creation of na annex for the Department of Culture. To enable the reintegration of the area into the urban fabric was proposed to create a linear park that provides a leisure space above the city and the lack of green areas. Preserving these spaces in a time when changes occur so quickly means keeping alive the memory and history of cities and allow new generations to take notice

In my participation at the project of extension Possibilities and events from childhood experiences and pictures cut out for a job with teachers , accomplished with teachers and coordinators of nursery school, which aims to discuss the training of teachers through the field of affections, I developed a reflection on traditional teacher training methods which tend to assign an identity to the professor. From this reflection it is necessary a theoretical deepening about the constant attempt to assign a specific and absolute identity to the professor, the need in the human being to produce sense and, bypassing the concept of intimacy, as these things are intertwined. Estresse psicológico e desempenho de atletas juniores: uma análise documental

Soccer is one of the most practiced sports in the world, and for many years, some areas of physical education has been doing studies related to the improvement of their income from these areas if this sport psychology. The psychological aspects are very influential and involved in the daily life of an athlete, especially for basic categories of athletes who see in soccer a dream to come true or only a source of income for his family, where such aspects act beneficially or evil for the athlete. Stress, in particular, can appear in various situations and in various ways, and different influences and reactions athlete to athlete, also resulting in physiological changes and variations in performance. Stress, and especially stressful situations, like any psychological aspect should be identified in order to train your athlete to know how to deal with stressful situations. Know what are the stressors, which carries the stress load for the athlete, how to handle the stressful situations, using psychological training in the preseason, know how to use stress management techniques, and be able to manage it all so your athlete reaches an optimal level of income is described in the present work, in order to provide a theoretical and updated reference for professionals of Physical Education, so that they stay up to date on sports psychology and also understand a little more on this subject, which is still little discussed within soccer and often overlooked by many professionals who are already in the context of competitive soccer

Motivação e personal trainning

Currently, health is one of the issues of concern of society. Health can be understood as a direct link between the practice of regular exercise and quality of life. Within this course of reasoning, comes the role of physical education professional. In this perspective, we have the Personal Trainer. Personal Trainer is the professional who makes exercise prescription, individually, with improvement goals fitness and others. This professional is someone trained in Physical Education and has qualification and training for that function. Thus, the aim of this study is to identify the reasons why the practitioners of physical exercise to train under the supervision of a Personal Trainer. To achieve the above goal was accomplished, a review of major studies on the subject. Thus, this work it is a research bibliography. On the literature review it is evident the professional demand due to a cultural change and, moreover, the need for and accessibility of this professional, the Personal Trainer. In addition, the adhesion of reasons in class Personal Trainer to give the competence of the professional in achieving goals and objectives of the student, respecting the individuality and motivation of each student, reasons that may be intrinsic or extrinsic. William Boyce White, Jr. Papers - Accession 1488

The William Boyce White, Jr. Papers consists of his genealogical research as well as his research related to the history of York County and Rock Hill, SC. The papers also include records and manuscripts relating to several of his published works. Mr. White is a Rock Hill native and taught at the Winthrop Training School (WTS) from 1958-1965 and taught at Rock Hill High School following the closing of the high school portion of the WTS. He also taught in Clover before coming to Winthrop. He was the organist at First Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill from 1945 until he moved to Virginia. His interest in local history covers the Rock Hill train depot (included in the collection is a tintype of the original depot ca. 1860s), Colonel William Hill, the Catawba River, Catawba Indians, Rock Hill and York County schools, historic homes (includes several photographs, many of which were used by Elizabeth Reed in her long running series on historic homes in Rock HillEvening Herald), local churches, as well as Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Blackstocks, and York County in general. Of special interest is a copy of the Indian Land Chronicle dated January 21, 1859. Only three copies of the Chronicle are known to exist in the state of South Carolina. The genealogical research conducted by Mr. White covers many of the prominent names of York County and of South Carolina in general. Interview with Anna Heriot Dixon

Anna Dixon, in her July 1974 interview with Ann Yarborough, described the lifestyle and traditions she experienced during her years as a student at what is now Winthrop University (then Winthrop Normal and Industrial College). Dixon graduated in 1917 and covered topics such as being campused, the train station, education for women, uniforms, curriculum, and the training school. She also touched on what might get a girl expelled and how the students were graded. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the Louise Pettus Archives and Special Collections Oral History Program.

Holling Family Award Reception

John Holling, a 1912 graduate of the University of Nebraska who died in 1988, established the "Peter and Anna Holling Fund" in 1973 with his sisters, Hattie and Elvena Holling, the only other surviving children at the time. Their siblings, Gustave, Emil, and Rose also had contributed to the estate. The Hollings were a pioneer farm family of German-Danish descent. Peter Holling settled in the Grand lsland area in the 1870s after missing a westbound Union Pacific work-train that he had originally boarded in Iowa.

Tenure

Tenure is not easy to get. It is not, as one journalist puts it, a smooth rail for the gravy train. It is a long and challenging road ... Evaluation of the candidate for tenure is serious and thorough. Hours and days are spent reading and reviewing research contributions. Teaching is reviewed extensively ... The basic reason tenure is bestowed is to preserve freedom for highly trained and capable people to do their best work, to protect them from inappropriate political pressures ... Evaluation does not cease with tenure. Tenured faculty are reviewed at mandated intervals and also annually to determine what kind of raise, if any, they will receive ... Incontrovertibly, most faculty achieve more recognition after tenure than before - locally and nationally, for research, teaching, and service.

Wildlife Master Volunteers: A Multi-County Approach to Resolving Human-Wildlife Conflicts

The Wildlife Master (WM) Program in Colorado was modeled after the highly successful Master Gardener volunteer program. In 10 highly populated suburban counties with large rural areas surrounding the Denver Metro Area, Colorado State University (CSU) Cooperative Extension Natural Resources agents train, supervise and manage these volunteers in the identification, referral, and resolution of wildlife damage issues. High quality, research-based training is provided by university faculty and other professionals in public health, animal damage control, wildlife management and animal behavior. Inquiries are responded to mainly via telephone. Calls by concerned residents are forwarded to WMs who provide general information about human-wildlife conflicts and possible ways to resolve complaints. Each volunteer serves a minimum of 14 days on phone duty annually, calling in from a remote location to a voice mail system from which phone messages can be conveniently retrieved. Response time per call is generally less than 24 hours. During 2004, more than 2,000 phone calls, e-mail messages and walk-in requests for assistance were fielded by 100 cooperative extension WMs. Calls fielded by volunteers in one county increased five-fold during the past five years, from 100 calls to over 500 calls annually. Valued at the rate of approximately $18.00 per volunteer hour, the leveraged value of each WM was about $450 in 2005, based on 25 hours of service and training. The estimated value of the program to Colorado in 2004 was over $45,000 of in-kind service, or about one full-time equivalent faculty member. This paper describes components of Colorado’s WM Program, with guides to the set-up of similar programs in other states.
