South Carolina Housing Trust Fund Emergency Repair Manual

The emergency repair activity under the South Carolina Housing Trust Fund program is designed to assist very low‐income homeowners in making needed and necessary repairs to their owner‐occupied homes to eliminate life, health and safety issues to the occupant. This document explains emergency repair activity guidelines, eligibility requirements for properties, rehabilitation construction guidelines and payments.

Supplement to A Teacher’s Guide to African American Historic Places in South Carolina : integrating art into classroom instruction

Within this booklet, teachers will find instructional resources covering a wide array of genres, including, dance, choral music, general music, instrumental music, media arts, theatre, and the visual arts. These lesson plans are explicitly designed to integrate artistic expression and comprehension with other academic disciplines, such as English, History, and Social Studies. Each submission highlights the grade level, artistic genre, sources, learning objectives, instructional plans, and modes of evaluation. This Arts Integration Supplement to the Teacher’s Guide to African American Historic Places in South Carolina outlines 22 lesson plans that meet the 2010 Visual and Performing Arts Standards of South Carolina and integrates the arts into classroom instruction. Where applicable, other standards, such as those for math and social studies, are listed with each lesson plan. The teaching activities in this supplement are provided to aid in the development of lesson plans or to complement existing lessons. Teaching activities are the simplest means of integrating art in classroom instruction.

Review of Program Integrity Operations At Six Managed Care Organizations Delivering Medicaid Services under a Contract with the South Carolina Department of Health & Human Services

The State contracted with six managed care organizations to deliver Medicaid managed care at an annual cost of $2.7 billion, representing 10% of the State’s annual budget, to 750,000 Medicaid beneficiaries in South Carolina. This review’s scope and objectives were: Test the six MCOs’ compliance and effective execution of the SCDHHS’s managed care contract “Section 11 - Program Integrity” focusing on the operational components of pre-payment review and post-payment review. Identify opportunities to improve SCDHHS’s biennial managed care contract, contract monitoring, and MCO compliance and effective execution of the contract.

Improving the Efficiency of the South Carolina Real Estate Commission's License Renewal Process

The goal of this project is to increase the amount of successful real estate license renewals while reducing the disruption caused by manual processing and calls for assistance with renewals and technical issues. The data utilized in this project will demonstrate that the Real Estate Commission renewal process can be improved by utilizing electronic resources such as more detailed website information and repeat e-mail notices, through modifications to the online renewal process to reduce applicant error, and by increasing the visibility of online renewal log-in instructions while decreasing the visibility and use of mail-in applications.

The Orientation and Onboarding of South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy Instructors

The goal of this research is to enhance what is currently being presented in the Human Resource orientation and to provide an onboarding checklist for the supervisors of newly hired instructors at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Research supports the overall goal of creating a two day orientation for newly hired instructors at SCCJA.

South Carolina Office of the State Treasurer Department of Internal Audit Policies and Procedures Manual

The purpose of this project is to develop a Policy and Procedures Manual as a written guidance for applicable and required procedures to identify processes which will improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance process through the Department of Internal Audit of the South Carolina Office of the State Treasurer's Internal Audit functions.
