Although physical education is regulated by law and recognized as a mandatory component of basic education class, which includes high school, there are many reports that these classes do not actually happen. Such evidence shows the situation experienced by the author of this study, which brought this research to the attention. Therefore, the objective was to investigate and understand the perspective of students, physical education teachers, principals and coordinators forward their ideas to this reality, about the high school physical education in private schools. The research made use of qualitative approach, guided by an exploratory study. The technique was undertaken to collect the questionnaire with open and closed questions, involving 263 students enrolled in high school of four schools in two cities in the state of Sao Paulo and also the director, coordinator and professor of physical education of each one of these institutions, resulting in 12 education professionals. The categories of analysis were defined as: 1. Regarding physical education in high school, 2. The occurrence of physical rducation in high school, 3. Content and dynamic strategies developed in class 4. Student participation in class. The results show that despite, although some schools have physical education classes, there are still many students who do not take them. This reveals a double challenge to the area, which is: although it is essential that such a curriculum component is included in the grades (respecting the regional law legal system) that is not enough students that actually participate in it. As teachers, coordinators and directors recognize the importance of effective physical education, there are numerous of factors that deserve consideration to better understand this reality. [Purpose] Sit-to-walk performance is linked to proper proprioceptive information processing. Therefore, it is believed that an increase of proprioceptive inflow (using muscle vibration) might improve sit-to-walk performance. However, before testing muscle vibration effects on a frail population, assessment of its effects on healthy young people is necessary. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate the effects of muscle vibration on sit-to-walk performance in healthy young adults. [Subjects and Methods] Fifteen young adults performed the sit-to-walk task under three conditions: without vibration, with vibration applied before movement onset, and with vibration applied during the movement. Vibration was applied bilaterally for 30 s to the tibialis anterior, rectus femoris, and upper trapezius muscles bellies. The vibration parameters were as follows: 120 Hz and 1.2 mm. Kinematics and kinetic data were assessed using a 3D motion capture system and two force plates. The coordinates of reflective markers were used to define the center-of-mass velocities and displacements. In addition, the first step spatiotemporal variables were assessed. [Results] No vibration effect was observed on any dependent variables. [Conclusion] The results show that stimulation of the proprioceptive system with local muscle vibration does not improve sit-towalk performance in healthy young adults.

A produção de uvas finas para mesa destaca-se entre as principais atividades econômicas da região noroeste do Estado de São Paulo, Brasil. Entretanto, os produtores comumente apontam os problemas relativos à comercialização da fruta como um dos mais importantes obstáculos interpostos ao desenvolvimento da fruticultura regional. Este trabalho analisa as transações entre produtores e agentes de comercialização da fruta, discutindo as estruturas de governança presentes e as razões que explicam a exposição dos produtores a comportamentos oportunísticos associados aos distribuidores. Conclui-se que produtores que desenvolvem sistemas produtivos mais especializados, ofertadores de frutas de melhor qualidade, são atendidos por agentes de intermediação também especializados e, portanto, estão menos expostos a comportamentos oportunísticos. Nestes casos, a relação entre os agentes torna-se mais efetiva e sistemática, e a estrutura de governança transita de coordenação via mercado para formas híbridas.

Beef quality control, particularly its sensory characteristics, is an important factor for producers and retailers in order to satisfy consumer’s choices. Sensory analysis is an important tool to evaluate attributes that cannot be measured by easily available instrumental techniques, as well as texture – tenderness and juiciness – whose human perception is more complete, through trained panels. The aim of this study was evaluate the use of a beef sensory analysis protocol in three different laboratories. Six commercial samples of different brands of aged beef and 14 samples from crossbred animals (Bonsmara × Nelore - 7 and Canchim × Nelore - 7), aged during 14 days were analyzed. The samples were distributed to each participant laboratory, where 7 to 12 panelists were trained. A sheet containing a 9 cm non-structured scale with 14 attributes was used. The attributes were brown colour (CMAR); aponevrosis (PNAP); hydration degree (GH); characteristic beef aroma (SCCB); salty taste (SS); liver flavour (SF); fat flavour (SG); metallic flavour (SM); tenderness (MZ); juiciness (SL); fibrosity (FBS) and liver texture (SF). Obtained data was analyzed using analysis of variance and principal component analysis (PCA). The results showed that there was no interaction between samples and laboratories, indicating that all of them responded in a similar manner in relation to the samples, except PNAP attribute, which was expected as meat is very non-uniform normally. Samples were well differentiated in all laboratories as it could be observed in PCA graphs. With proper training it is possible to use a standard protocol for beef sensory analysis.

The production of starch and cassava starch (Manihot esculenta) if has shown to an important business for the region the northwest of the Paraná, generating income and job for a significant agricultural producers. The production of the region is processed for industries at private capital and cooperatives of producers. The study involving agricultural producers and one of the most important cooperatives of the region (C-Vale) objectified to evaluate the relationships between cooperative and producers, and the mechanisms of coordination of the productive chain. The results had disclosed that the relationships are not harmonious, generating opportunism situations, high costs of transaction and diffidence in the operations between producers and cooperative. Also if it perceived a difficulty of coordination of the productive chain, due to lack of integration between the partners, what it affects the competitiveness and the efficiency of the sector.

Studies on learning by exclusion have shown that participants tend to select a new object or a new figure when a new word is dictated, rejecting the objects and figures they already know or that were associated with other words. This study aimed at training conditional relations between dictated word-picture and between picture-printed word, by exclusion, and verify whether this training would be a condition for the emergence of relations between dictated word-printed word, printed word-figure, picture naming and reading. We also investigated whether responding to the words dictated with a female voice generalized to other frequencies such as male and child voices. Participants were five children between five and nine years old, with acute neurosensorial bilateral hearing impairment, users of cochlear implant Nucleus 24k®. They were exposed, individually, to tasks that consisted in selecting a comparison stimulus (either picture or printed word) related to the sample (either dictated word or picture). Words with lowest scores on a pre-test were used. The relations between dictated word-figure (AB) and figure-printed word (BC) were taught by exclusion. We assessed the emergence of the relations between dictated and printed words (AC), printed word and picture (CB), male and child voices generalization (A’C and A’’C), naming (BD) and reading (CD). All the children responded by exclusion and learned relations AB and BC, showing receptive vocabulary; AC and CB relations also were learned, consistent with class formation. Responding generalized to male and child voices, but data on naming were not systematic. Learning by exclusion was similar to that of children with typical hearing and these results describe some conditions that can improve receptive verbal repertoire.

This paper discusses the possibility of receiver’s participation in the production of television content mediated by online social networks. Buoyed by media convergence, this research demonstrates how the receiver has been working in online digital media such as TV can take advantage of the specific interaction between the medias to promote the creation of collaborative content, in which the user of social network may interfere the result of the product developed, becoming a new mediatic protagonist. Tool not so used for the production of television that slowly begins to enter the virtual reality, the forging of this new compose process would not only entertain the receiver, but also enrich the language and content television constantly criticized. This study shows the influence of the television medium in which is discussed online, the attitude still shy of the user in content production, and discusses the potential of social networks as a channel of communication between producers and receivers. This work is structured from the definition of social network, in addition to conducting the study what kind of interaction between TV and online social networks is practiced today. Finally, debate whether the potential interaction between TV and social networks is used to its fullest.
