Jordi Casassas, academic coordinator of the GEHCI (Group of Studies on the History of Culture and Intellectuals), offers a brief approach to the history of this research group, which began its activity in 1989. He exposes the main projects of its members and the works published throughout this time.

At the occasion of the recent death of the Italian philosopher Norberto Bobbio, the author approaches to the main lines of his analytical reflection about politics, state theory and cultural history. The Bobbio's biography is also presented as a significant example of the Italian Twentieth Century intellectual experience.

L'article ens planteja algunes reflexions sobre el sempre vidriós tema del nacionalisme. El valor afegit d'aquest treball rau en el fet que té la pretensió de fer història comparada, confrontant el cas català amb la resta de nacionalismes perifèrics espanyols, sense perdre de vista l'inevitable context europeu general, així com la cronologia específica del cas català.

On the occasion of the recent death of the madrilenian culture historian Vicente Cacho Viu, the authors expose the main lines of his historical work. They point out the importance of Cacho's research on the periord of the Restauración, mainly his studies on the liberal education institution Institución Libre de Enseñanza. They also consider Cacho's interest in Catalonia, remembering the time he spent teaching at Barcelona University, paying attention to his works on catalan modernisme. The article includes a systematic bibliography of Cacho's works.

The author takes the comment of the recent book of the French historian Gilles Pécout, Il lungo Risorgimento. La nascita dell'Italia contemporanea (1770-1922), as a pretext to make a revision of the historiography and the main arguments of the source of contemporary Italy. He analyses just the political and cultural process of the Risorgimento, as well as the nationalization of the Italian society after the country became independent.

The Catalan historian Miquel Batllori (1909-2003), had developed an important performance in many aspects of intellectual activities. He developed an extensive studies in many historical subjects. The author considers mainly the Batllori works connected with cultural history.

The author exposes the main research lines in the history of local culture. He briefly considers the main lines in cultural contemporary history investigation. The author studies the introduction and development of cultural history based on the concept of intellectual professional in Catalan historiography at a moment when economical and social research were preferred by a large part of local historians.
