A letter from Mr. Julian Porter to R.A. Brown of Longmans Green Publishing Company. The letter indicates that Mr. Porter was introduced to Sean O'Sullivan during a political function. Mr. O'Sullivan mentioned that he had written a manuscript about Mr. J. Diefenbaker. Mr. Porter suggests that Longmans Green Publishing Company take interest in the manuscript. The company eventually rejects the book due to it being "so highly personal". The publishing company also remarks "I am personally most impressed with Mr. O'Sullivan's sincerity. I can't imagine anything will stop him from eventually going into politics."

The coarser domain contains clasts ranging from small to large in size. The clast shape ranges from angular to rounded. Necking structures are commonly seen in the coarser domain. This domain also contains many rotation structures and lineations. The fine grained domain exhibits multiple water escape pathways, along with lineations. There are also minor amounts of grain crushing present within this sample.

La revisión del problema se lleva a cabo para mostrar como "¿pueden pensar las máquinas?" sólo se ha evaluado en los terminos humanos. El equilibrio refractivo se plantea como una herramienta para definir conceptos de tal modo que la experiencia y los preceptos se encuentren en equilibrio, para con él construir una definición de pensar que no esté limitada exclusivamente a "pensar tal y como lo hacen los humanos".

Los hechos ocurridos durante el 11 de septiembre de 2001 se constituyeron como un momento fundamental en los intentos de conceptualización del terrorismo internacional dentro de la disciplina de las Relaciones Internacionales. A raíz del 9/11 tuvo lugar la resemantización del concepto de terrorismo internacional en función del terrorismo religioso y del fundamentalismo islámico. Lo anterior, marco una ruptura en el campo de experiencia y en el horizonte de expectativas del concepto mismo, pues este último adquirió un nuevo uso discursivo, y por ende, político. Por eso, ante la necesidad de emprender un análisis discursivo de los usos del concepto de terrorismo internacional, se evidencia cómo al estar inmersos en determinados juegos del lenguaje, el uso discursivo de este concepto termina por convertirse en una herramienta de acción política que promueve una forma de vida.

La presente tesis gravita en torno a la siguiente pregunta: ¿cómo puede ser el liberalismo político una alternativa frente a los desafíos del multiculturalismo? La respuesta se presenta a partir de tres capítulos: en el primero se especifica la estructura y contenido del liberalismo político; en el segundo se caracterizan los desafíos del multiculturalismo en Francia, a partir del asunto del velo islámico y las consideraciones de los actores involucrados; en el tercero se analizan los argumentos y opiniones sobre el asunto del velo en Francia, con base en las categorías específicas del liberalismo político, especialmente el consenso traslapado. Se concluye que las posibilidades de consenso dependen del apego que tengan los ciudadanos hacia ciertos valores propios de una concepción política de la justicia, de la capacidad para apartarse de su forma particular de ver el mundo (doctrina comprensiva) en las discusiones públicas, así como de la voluntad que tengan los individuos para ser razonables y respetar las directivas de indagación en las discusiones políticas.
