Tendo por base o contexto histrico e patrimonial no qual se desenvolveu o interesse pelo patrimnio industrial em Portugal, a partir do ltimo quartel do sculo passado, este trabalho procura ser um contributo para a valorizao histrica e patrimonial de um espao industrial de grandes dimenses como foi o caso do Complexo Industrial da C.U.F. no Barreiro. O trabalho estrutura-se em duas partes, na primeira parte abordamos o tema Patrimnio Industrial na sua gnese e enquadramento histrico como conceito e suas perspetivas de preservao e valorizao; seguidamente faremos uma pequena sntese histrica do Barreiro at ao Complexo Industrial da C.U.F., onde abordaremos tambm o aumento populacional e o crescimento urbano, passando pelo problema da habitao e o surgimento dos Bairros Operrios at aos espaos de lazer e catividades culturais ligadas ao Operariado, no esquecendo as estruturas de sade, assistncia, lazer e as politicas sociais. Na segunda parte abordaremos a importncia de valorizar o patrimnio industrial e consequentemente o Complexo Industrial com a proposta de um programa de valorizao do mesmo, atravs da criao de ncleos museolgicos e de um roteiro de Patrimnio Industrial. ABSTRACT: The Human Facet of the Industrial Complex of C.U.F.- a Heritage to Preserve The foundation of this Project is the historical heritage for which developed the interest in Portugal's industrial heritage from the last quarter of the past century. This project has the intention to contribute to the historical and heritage valorization of one of the biggest industrial complexes, which was the case of the Industrial Complex C.U.F. in Barreiro. This project has two parts, the first part will be about defining the theme of industrial heritage and its genesis and the historical setting as a concept and its perspectives of preservation and valorization; afterwards, we will do a small historical synopsis of Barreiro including the Industrial Complex of C.U.F., where we will also refer to the increase in population growth and the urban development, followed by the housing problem and consequently the increase of working class neighborhoods, even to the prices of leisure and culture activities related to the working class, not forgetting the health structures, assistance, leisure and social politics. ln the second part, we will also talk about the importance of valorizing industrial heritage, and subsequently the Industrial Complex, with a proposal of a valorization programme of the Complex with the creation of a museological core as well as an industrial heritage guide.

Os Sistemas de Informaes Geogrficas (SIGs) tem como aplicao essencial a realizao de anlises espaciais e tm possibilitado o desenvolvimento de mtodos de anlise e planejamento sobre o espao geogrfico. Desta forma, podem auxiliar no processo de tomada de deciso, subsidiando os planejadores do territrio em suas aes. Este artigo aborda parte de um projeto maior, intitulado Projeto de Gerenciamento Integrado e Sustentvel dos Recursos Hdricos Transfronteirios na Bacia do rio Amazonas considerando a Variabilidade e Mudanas Climticas, que tem como objetivo fortalecer o marco institucional para planejar e executar, de maneira coordenada, as atividades de proteo e gerenciamento sustentvel do solo e dos recursos hdricos na bacia do rio Amazonas, em face aos impactos decorrentes das mudanas climticas verificados na Bacia. O objetivo do presente trabalho analisar o processo de construo e implementao do SIG GeoAmazonas, como um dos instrumentos de Gerenciamento da Bacia, assim como sua contribuio na compatibilizao de diferentes fontes de dados, em toda rea da bacia, e identificao de conflitos de uso dos recursos hdricos e situaes de vulnerabilidade.

A Ilha do Maranho apresenta uma densidade demogrfica em torno de 1.000 hab/km (IBGE, 2004), e seus espaos esto sendo preenchidos, muitas vezes, sem prvio conhecimento das vulnerabilidades e potencialidades. O Reservatrio Batat est localizado dentro do Parque Estadual do Bacanga (PEB), sua potencialidade hdrica responsvel por abastecer cerca de 20% da populao de So Lus e nos ltimos anos este parque vem perdendo espao. Para a anlise da conjuntura scio-ambiental adotou-se o mtodo fenomenolgico e estruturalista o qual permitiu tecer consideraes sobre o cenrio da gua genuinamente ludovicense, bem como modelo geolgico-geotcnico. O abastecimento de gua em So Lus realizado pela contribuio de gua superficial e subterrnea representado pelo Sistema Sacavm, Sistema Pacincia I e II, sistemas de poos isolados e o Italus. Todos genuinamente ludovicense exceto o Italuis que faz parte da bacia do Rio Itapecuru sendo responsveis por 50% do abastecimento de gua da cidade. As reas de mananciais sofrem os conflitos de uso e ocupao. A Ilha sendo um ecossistema estuarino, espao limitado e com ocupaes sem planejamento prvio, vem perdendo reas estratgicas de mananciais (recargas) pela falta de investimento no setor de saneamento e de uma gesto eficaz.

Complex systems have stimulated much interest in the scientific community in the last twenty years. Examples this area are the Domany-Kinzel cellular automaton and Contact Process that are studied in the first chapter this tesis. We determine the critical behavior of these systems using the spontaneous-search method and short-time dynamics (STD). Ours results confirm that the DKCA e CP belong to universality class of Directed Percolation. In the second chapter, we study the particle difusion in two models of stochastic sandpiles. We characterize the difusion through diffusion constant D, definite through in the relation h(x)2i = 2Dt. The results of our simulations, using finite size scalling and STD, show that the diffusion constant can be used to study critical properties. Both models belong to universality class of Conserved Directed Percolation. We also study that the mean-square particle displacement in time, and characterize its dependence on the initial configuration and particle density. In the third chapter, we introduce a computacional model, called Geographic Percolation, to study watersheds, fractals with aplications in various areas of science. In this model, sites of a network are assigned values between 0 and 1 following a given probability distribution, we order this values, keeping always its localization, and search pk site that percolate network. Once we find this site, we remove it from the network, and search for the next that has the network to percole newly. We repeat these steps until the complete occupation of the network. We study the model in 2 and 3 dimension, and compare the bidimensional case with networks form at start real data (Alps e Himalayas)

The market of digital games have grown in the last years, becoming popular between many ages, the number of smartphones and tablets users have also showed a recent increase, including the ones using Android as operational system. The main objective of a digital game is the ludic activity but also it can be used as a tool to education, learning and even simulation. This work proposes the development of a game for smartphones or tablet running on Android operational system, this game will simulate living beings in an environment, each one with different behaviors, based in the concepts of artificial live, cellular automata and emergence. This way simulating the behavior of a living being community with a computational base in artificial live and following concepts of game design. The game can represent visually some characteristics of living beings, as well behaviors and interactions between them, in a very simple way. The game can be upgraded in the future to represent better living beings using more details to the simulation of these

o monitoramento da expanso das reas urbanas e a anlise da sua interao com o meio fsico tm sido um grande desafio para os tcnicos de planejamento urbano. No Brasil, em especial, dada a velocidade com que o fenmeno se processa e graas a um crescimento desordenado das cidades nas ltimas dcadas, esses estudos, que envolvem um elevado nmero de informaes, tem exigido decises e diagnsticos urbanos cada vez mais rpidos. Esta dissertao prope uma metodologia para o planejamento racional do uso do solo urbano atravs do emprego integrado de tecnologias recentes como Sistema de Informaes Geogrficas (SIG), Modelagem Numrica do Terreno (MNT) e Sensoriamento Remoto atravs de imagens orbitais. Para isso, so implementados no SIG desenvolvido pelo INPE dados provenientes de cartas topogrficas, de mapas temticos do meio fsico e de imagens orbitais LANSAT/TM da regio estudada. A partir desses dados iniciais so geradas, tambm num SIG, outras informaes com objetivo de estudar a evoluo da rea urbana, identificar reas com suscetibilidade preliminar eroso laminar, reas com restrio ao uso urbano e reas de eventos perigosos e riscos. o trabalho apresenta inicialmente uma reviso bibliogrfica sobre a aplicao de Sensoriamento Remoto, Modelagem Numrica do Terreno (MNT) e Sistema de Informaes Geogrficas (SIG) em estudos urbanos. Segue-se a conceituao e aspectos tericos dessas trs ferramentas bsicas utilizadas. A metodologia propriamente dita traz os planos de informaes originais e as suas respectivas fontes de informaes, os processos de classificao de imagens digitais empregados e os modelos de cruzamentos desenvolvidos para um SIG. A rea teste escolhida a sub-bacia do Arroio Feij, localizada na regio metropolitana de Porto Alegre, na poro centro-leste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A regio caracterizada por uma elevada densidade populacional, pela presena de reas inundveis e pela ocorrncia de processos eroslVOS. Os resultados mostram que a metodologia proposta adequada e eficiente para agilizar as atividades de planejamento urbano, subsidiando a elaborao de Planos Diretores de Desenvolvimento Integrado e orientando o crescimento das cidades para regies mais favorveis. Alm disso, contribui para a preveno de parcela dos riscos e problemas geotcnicos relacionados ao meio fsico nas reas urbanas.

The expansion and growth of towns affect the hydrology of watersheds included in the urban environment, impacting mainly the slopes and river channels. This interference can be in soil waterproofing, the runoff of rainwater, the extinction of surface drainage, the dynamics of flooding processes, etc. For studies concerning the hydrological behavior of watersheds, Remote Sensing techniques have been used to support the acquisition and analysis of data and also to generate new information from the integration of these data. In this context, the study aimed to characterize scenarios and conduct comparative analysis of urban occupation of parts of watershed the Crrego da Servido, in Rio Claro (SP) and analyze the degree of waterproofing on the ground. With the support of the soil categories of waterproofing listed in Soil Conservation Service (S.C.S / USDA) this analysis was conducted, considering the scenarios of 1958 and 2006, through processes of interpretative analysis of panchromatic and color images aerofotogramtricas. The analysis, data integration and mapping of the watershed area were conducted in an environment of a Geographic Information System (GIS). Maps were obtained to characterize land cover in the watershed, showing the evolution of urban occupation, as well as indicating the densely built and waterproofed

O presente trabalho objetivou desenvolver modelos para estimativa dos atributos fsico-hdricos do solo porosidade drenvel (PD) e capacidade total de reteno de gua (CTA), com base em atributos fsicos de fcil e rpida obteno (textura, argila dispersa em gua, volume total de poros, densidade do solo e densidade de partcula) e a determinao de matria orgnica. Os atributos foram coletados na bacia hidrogrfica do Ribeiro Marcela, na camada de 0 a 15 cm, obedecendo aos grids de 240 x 240 e 60 x 60 m, totalizando 165 pontos amostrados. Trabalhou-se com regresso mltipla linear, constituindo-se variveis por meio da combinao dos diferentes atributos entre si e estimando os respectivos coeficientes pelo mtodo dos mnimos quadrados, utilizando-se o programa SAS for Windows. Os modelos gerados para CTA e PD apresentaram boa qualidade estatstica, com elevados coeficientes de determinao, baixos erros de estimativa e variveis significativas, o que permitiu sua aplicao na estimativa desses atributos na bacia hidrogrfica do Ribeiro Marcela, representativa do domnio dos Latossolos na regio do Alto Rio Grande, fornecendo assim subsdios para implantao de projetos agrcolas e ambientais, especialmente no auxlio parametrizao de modelos de simulao hidrossedimentolgica, os quais esto em desenvolvimento para aplicao na regio.

The growing accumulation of people in urban centers caused chronic problems of the cities to begin to take an increasingly unsustainable. Primarily related to lack of infrastructure coupled with sanitation and lack of investment in critical sectors such as health, education, housing and transportation, these problems start to deteriorate markedly the quality of life of city dwellers and put into test management policies of the spaces urbanized. To reverse this situation, shows is essential to the use of tools (highlighting this harvest rates and environmental indicators) that help in assessing the current conditions and may assist in predicting future scenarios. From the information listed above, now put the research seeks to present an index called ISBA Environmental (Sanitation Index) which looks at the four urban systems (water, sewer, solid waste and urban drainage) from the viewpoint of application in a geographical cutout specific - in this case the Drainage Basin XII, defined by the Plan of Urban Drainage Stormwater in the city of Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte. This index, together with analysis of other factors sought to trace the current conditions of the basin and thus, assist in proposing the best solutions. For the preparation of the index was applied a questionnaire with a sample of 384 (three hundred eighty-four) households that aimed to study two variables: access to services and satisfaction of the population in relation to these. The ISBA has shown that the system is the most deficient collection and disposal of effluents (ICE = 47.66%), followed by the drainage of rainwater (IDAP = 54.17%), water supply (AAI = 61, 36) and solid waste collection (IRS = 78.28). With the ISBA was possible to verify that the qualitative data shows whose subjectivity is evident (as is the case of user satisfaction) can be of great importance when an assessment, since we obtained the correlation coefficient between the variables "Access" and " Satisfaction "equal to 0.8234, showing a strong correlation between the existence / quality of service offered and the impressions of the population that receives them

Some Upper Permian conchostracans from the Rio do Rasto Formation (Parana Basin, South Brazil) have very characteristic recurved growth lines at the dorsal margin. All previously described specimens were classified as Palaeolimnadiopsis subalata (Reed) Raymond. However, a re-analysis of these fossils and of additional recently- collected specimens demonstrated that not all can be included in a single species, nor only in the Family Palaeolimnadiopseidae. According to their shape and the size of the umbo, they are classified into three species. The sub-elliptic carapaces with small anterior umbo are maintained in Palaeolimnadiopsis subalata (Reed, 1929) Raymond, 1946. The sub-circular carapaces with small sub-central umbo correspond to the new species Palaeolimnadiopsis riorastensis. The small size of the umbo is a character of the Family Palaeolimnadiopseidae. The small elliptic valves with large anterior umbo are assigned to the new species Falsisca brasiliensis of the Family Perilimnadiidae, which is characterized by large umbos. Palaeolimnadiopsis has a wide chronostratigraphic distribution, but Falsisca is restricted to the Upper Permian-Lower Triassic of Europe and Asia. This interval is in agreement with the probable Late Permian age of the respective strata of the Rio do Rasto formation. Falsisca was not previously recorded in Gondwana.

This paper presents the gravity survey refinement of the Paraba do Sul river valley, east region of So Paulo state, by acquisition of 646 gravity stations. Further than the traditional Free-Air and Bouguer corrections, it was necessary to apply the Terrain Correction due the proximity of the Mantiqueira and Mar mountain ranges. An enhanced understanding of Taubat Basin structural framework was the main objetive of this work. As result, we present the Bouguer Gravity Map of the east region of So Paulo State and the Residual Bouguer Gravity Map generated by Upward Continuation and High-pass filtering. The 2D Gravity Modeling was applied in 4 sections, using bi-dimensional models for the bodies that produced the anomalies (Talwani Method). After integrating the gravity data with the interpretation of 11 seismic sections, it was possible to delineate the Taubate Basin structural framework, which shows an utmost sedimentary thickness of 800 m in the depocenters. It was also interpreted an ultramaphic alkaline plug in the subsurface of Caapava city.
