Memórias de uma revolta esquecida: o Baixo-Amazonas na revolução constitucionalista de 1932

A proposta desta dissertação é discutir a formação do primeiro movimento armado de reação ao tenentismo e ao Governo Provisório no Estado do Pará, materializado numa revolta de civis e militares, liderada por sargentos de uma pequena unidade do Exército na cidade de Óbidos, interior da Amazônia, em 1932, com o objetivo de analisar os seus significados, as experiências dos sujeitos, as estratégias de luta e a relação da revolta com a Revolução Constitucionalista de São Paulo. Oitenta anos depois, o acontecimento, que teve trágico desfecho na batalha naval de Itacoatiara, ainda permanece um dos capítulos amazônicos mais desconhecidos da história do Brasil. Em busca de resposta, o trabalho examina o discurso oficial do interventor paraense no sentido de invalidar a legitimidade da ação rebelde e seu reflexo na sociedade da época.

Estudo da técnica de enchimento de chanfro do aço naval pelo processo GMAW-CW

Nesse trabalho estudou-se a viabilidade operacional e as características econômicas e geométrica da técnica do processo de soldagem GMAW-CW (alimentação adicional de um arame frio) em comparação Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). O sistema de alimentação de arame frio foi projetado e adaptado a pistola de soldagem MIG/MAG. Utilizou-se uma fonte eletrônica de múltiplos processos ajustada em tensão constante e CC+, a proteção gasosa foi uma mistura 75%Ar+25%CO² e CO² comercialmente puro. O arame utilizado foi o da classe ER70S-6 com diametro de 1,2 mm para o arame eletrodo e 1,0 mm para o arame frio, os dois arames foram alimentados em cabeçotes independentes. As variáveis operacionais de entrada foram: a velocidade de alimentação de arame energizado, em três níveis, 4, 6 e 8 m/min e a velocidade de alimentação do arame frio em 50%, 60% e 70% da velocidade de alimentação do arame energizado. As soldagens foram automatizadas em simples deposição no sentido empurrando e o posicionamento do arame frio, em um único nível, Tandem em chanfro em “U” de chapas de aço ASTM 1020. As variáveis de resposta utilizadas foram: inspeção superficial dos cordões; análise da geometria (largura, penetração, reforço e diluição) da solda e econômicas (taxa de fusão, taxa de deposição, rendimento e custo operacional). Os resultados indicaram que para a análise superficial, com o uso do gás Ar25%CO² a superfície dos cordões mostraram-se mais homogêneas em relação ao CO² e com menor índice de salpicagem, para a análise das características econômicas, o processo GMAW-CW sempre foi superior ao processo convencional, quanto aos custos operacionais o processo convencional mostrou-se menor, porém não houve o preenchimento do chanfro, o que ocorreu com a utilização do processo GMAW-CW.

CONTRIBUTIONS OF OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT TO THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE BRAZILIAN ELECTRONICS SECTOR

The objective of this paper is to identify and analyze various aspects of the internal and external operations management of Brazil's electronics sector and to consider the opportunities for and the threats to increasing the competitiveness of its participation in the global supply chain. To address this shortage in the literature, a survey of Brazilian Electric and Electronic Industry Association (ABINEE) companies was conducted. The collected data were complemented with secondary data to establish an overall view of the electronics sector in Brazil. The results suggest that electronics product assembly companies have the opportunity to invest more in information technology to expand process integration, plan and develop products, integrate customers, and maintain rather than expand their supply chain practices. The alignment between internal and external operations management becomes important in this context. The originality of this paper lies in its clarification of operations management in an economically important sector and the insight it provides to academics, practitioners and policy makers involved in the domestic and international electronics sector.

Práticas de gestão da melhoria contínua e aprendizado e suas contribuições para a capacidade de inovação na indústria de construção naval do Brasil

After years of stagnation, the naval construction industry in Brazil has been experiencing a period of recovery caused by investments in the oil and gas sector and the implementation of governmental programs that aimed to regenerate it. However, efforts in learning and innovations are needed in order to reinsert the country in this activity and achieve international levels of competitiveness. Based on literature about learning processes and continuous improvement practices and their impact in the innovative and productive processes, this paper aims to identify the main tendencies, mechanisms and procedures to improve the construction and management processes in the Brazilian naval construction industry. The methodology used for the data analysis classifies obtained information from magazines and annals of congresses of the sector, according to the established analysis categories (phenomena). Such categories study information related to the productive and technological processes of the industry, the main internal and external relations of the industrial park, the management of resources and processes, policies, investments, etc. The data was collected in the period 2004-2010, and more than 500 registers that show a dominance of the investment phenomenon, especially in the increase of productive capacity, were catalogued. In addition to this, there is evidence of modernization in the manufacturing plan and the equipment, diverse forms of cooperation, implementation of human resources management practices and engineering or processes and products. Hence, a process of catching up governs and is guided by modernization and increase training in this industry.

Electromyographic validation of the trapezius and serratus anterior muscles in military press exercises with open grip

It was studied the trapezius muscle and serratus anterior muscle in 24 male volunteers using a 2-channel TECA TE 4 electromyograph and Hewlett Packard surface electrodes, during the execution of four different modalities of military press exercises with open grip. The results showed that TS acted significantly in the modalities standing and sitting press behind neck, while SI acted in all the modalities, i.e., standing and sitting press behind neck and forward, justifying their inclusion as basic exercises for physical conditioning programmes.

New Business Models And Editorial Exemption: A Study On Service Journalism Based On Ecommerce Operations

The paper presents and discusses business strategies based on the association from journalistic content to new commercial practices in digital media. We describe selected examples from Folha de S. Paulo and El País involving service guides, links and ecommerce advertisements. The employed method provides content analysis to illustrate how the search for new business models in journalism may conduct its commercial activities beyond the conventional sale of advertising and subscriptions, including a discussion on the challenges and implications of this practice. The hypothesis is demonstrated by describing operations for the sale of tickets, books, music, and films related to news features and service journalism contents. The text finally wonders and discusses how such commercial actions may affect editorial autonomy and publishing exemption.
