The River Lune was at one time one of the best salmon fisheries in England and Wales with very high catches to both rods and netsmen. During the 1960's, the stock was decimated by the disease Ulcerative Dermal Necrosis which caused a dramatic reduction in catches. Catches have not recovered to pre-disease levels. The target egg deposition rate for the River Lune system which should produce the maximum number of surplus fish returning to the system has been determined at 13.8 million eggs. This will require 4,779 adult salmon to survive to successfully spawn. Under current rates of exploitation, the target egg deposition will occur at a declared rod catch of 1,974 salmon and a net catch of 2,627 salmon. Two automatic fish counters are in operation on the river system. Data from these suggest that, within the measures of compliance, the river has met it's target egg deposition for the last 3 years.

In February 1996 "A Strategy for the Management of Salmon in England and Wales" was launched by the then National Rivers Authority. The strategy concentrates on four main objectives for the management of salmon fisheries in England and Wales. These are primarily aimed at securing the well being of the stock but in doing so will strive to improve catches and any associated economic returns to the fisheries: (i) Optimise the number of salmon returning to homewater fisheries. (ii) Maintain and improve the fitness and diversity of salmon stocks. , (iii) Optimise the total economic value of surplus stocks. (iv) Ensure necessary costs are met by beneficiaries. These four objectives will be addressed through local Salmon Action Plans (SAPs) which will be produced for each of the principle salmon rivers in England and Wales by the year 2001. Each plan will review the status of the stock and the fisheries on a particular river, seek to identify the main factors limiting performance, draw up and cost a list of options to address these, and, consult 0with local interest groups. This report is the draft version of the Salmon Action Plan for the River Lune.

Esta investigação analisa projetos em disputas na produção de políticas de currículo em EJA (Educação de Jovens e Adultos). Para tal, são investigadas produções de dois espaços em que circulam diferentes textos que enunciam demandas de diversos grupos, a saber, os ENEJAs (Encontro Nacional de Educação de Jovens e Adultos) e o GT 18 da ANPEd (Associação Nacional de Pós-graduação e Pesquisa em Educação). Nesses, são identificadas e problematizadas demandas em disputa na produção de políticas de currículo em EJA, que articuladas no processo de significação, tencionam constituir um discurso hegemônico no currículo voltado à EJA. É destacada, no processo de produção das políticas, a atuação das comunidades epistêmicas em diferentes contextos na tentativa de influenciar e hegemonizar determinados sentidos em torno da produção das políticas de currículo em EJA. Nesse sentido, as políticas de currículo são entendidas como discurso, o que implica abordar e problematizar discursos que circulam em diferentes contextos como atravessados por relações de saber-poder. Para tal, dialogamos com a teoria do discurso proposta por Ernesto Laclau, a abordagem metodológica do ciclo contínuo de políticas de Stephen Ball e a vertente analítica das comunidades epistêmicas. É argumentado que as políticas de currículo são produzidas em diferentes contextos, com o envolvimento de diferentes atores sociais. É defendido, ainda, com base na análise de diferentes documentos e das demandas, que possíveis discursos são constituídos em função da articulação de certas demandas tornadas equivalentes e que buscam hegemonizar determinados sentidos da/na política curricular da EJA. Apontamos ainda, a possibilidade de futuras investigações no campo das políticas de currículo em EJA.

The strategy concentrates on four main objectives for the management of salmon fisheries in England and Wales: (i) Optimise the number of salmon returning to home water fisheries, (ii) Maintain and improve the fitness and diversity of salmon stocks, (iii) Optimise the total economic value of surplus stocks, (iv) Ensure necessary costs are met by beneficiaries. These four objectives will be addressed through local Salmon Action Plans (SAPs) which will be produced for each of the principle salmon rivers in England and Wales by the year 2001. A consultation report was produced for the River Ribble and released publicly in October 1999. This document determined an egg deposition figure of 8.5 million eggs for the Ribble, that would allow maximum gain from the net and rod fisheries; raised a number of issues which are thought to currently limit salmon production; identified actions which may be undertaken by the Environment Agency and other bodies to improve stocks. This action plan re-addresses the issues raised in the consultation document, taking into account the comments received, and also identifies areas of possible improvement in data gathering that would allow more accurate estimation of the spawning target and compliance in future years. The progress of this plan will be monitored and reported annually.

A necessidade de se obter soluções para os diversos problemas estruturais na engenharia, associado ao amplo crescimento e difusão da construção metálica fez surgir, por volta dos anos 60, os perfis tubulares. As ligações soldadas entre perfis tubulares são as ligações de maior difusão nas construções com este tipo de perfil, sendo necessário portanto, estudos mais detalhados que tornem a utilização de ligações soldadas mais seguras e otimizadas. O Eurocode 3 possui um item específico para as ligações entre perfis tubulares, em especial as ligações soldadas devido a suas particularidades. Infelizmente, a norma brasileira NBR8800 não aborda as ligações envolvendo perfis tubulares. Para a execução da análise numérica no presente trabalho, faz-se necessário uma revisão bibliográfica. Com estes resultados, foram feitas modelagens de ligações tubulares com o método dos elementos finitos de forma a otimizar os modelos a serem utilizados em uma análise paramétrica futura. Desta forma, foram desenvolvidos dois modelos numéricos, um considerando ligação tipo T entre perfis tubulares quadrados e outro para uma ligação tipo K entre perfis circulares. Estes modelos foram caracterizados através de elementos de casca com seis graus de liberdade por nó considerando-se adicionalmente o efeito de membrana. A análise não-linear realizada considerou a não-linearidade do material através do critério de plastificação de Von Mises através de uma lei constitutiva tensão versus deformação bi-linear e a não-linearidade geométrica foi atribuída através da formulação de Lagrange atualizado. Dentre as principais conclusões obtidas no presente trabalho, pode-se citar que os resultados para as ligações tipo T, o Eurocode 3, fornece resultados que precisam ser observados com cautela. Todavia, para as ligações do tipo K, os resultados numéricos mostraram-se sempre inferiores aos valores através do Eurocode 3, representando um dimensionamento a favor da segurança.

In 1996 a Strategy for the Management of Salmon in England and Wales was launched by the National Rivers Authority setting out objectives for the management of Salmon fisheries. These objectives are to be met through local Salmon Action Plans which are to be produced for each of the 68 principal salmon rivers in England and Wales by December 2003. A consultation document was produced for the river Wyre and released publicly during October 2003. This document: • Determined an egg deposition figure of 1.27 million eggs which would allow maximum gain from the fisheries • Raised a number of issues which are though to limit existing salmon production. • Identified actions which may be undertaken by the Environment Agency and other bodies to improved stocks. The document looks at the issues in the consultation document and also highlights some important changes to historic egg deposition rates following further analysis of the data. Some of the major issues addressed in the plan are: • Severe low flows on specific tributaries • Reduced juvenile production caused by insufficient habitat. • Changes in flow regime resulting in the wash out of gravels and redds. • The impact of man made structures preventing access to suitable spawning areas, and preventing the downstream distribution of spawning gravels.

The efforts made to develop RNAi-based therapies have led to productive research in the field of infections in humans, such as hepatitis C virus (HCV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), herpetic keratitis, human papillomavirus, or influenza virus. Naked RNAi molecules are rapidly digested by nucleases in the serum, and due to their negative surface charge, entry into the cell cytoplasm is also hampered, which makes necessary the use of delivery systems to exploit the full potential of RNAi therapeutics. Lipid nanoparticles (LNP) represent one of the most widely used delivery systems for in vivo application of RNAi due to their relative safety and simplicity of production, joint with the enhanced payload and protection of encapsulated RNAs. Moreover, LNP may be functionalized to reach target cells, and they may be used to combine RNAi molecules with conventional drug substances to reduce resistance or improve efficiency. This review features the current application of LNP in RNAi mediated therapy against viral infections and aims to explore possible future lines of action in this field.

Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) algorithms face two main difficulties: the curse of dimensionality, and environment non-stationarity due to the independent learning processes carried out by the agents concurrently. In this paper we formalize and prove the convergence of a Distributed Round Robin Q-learning (D-RR-QL) algorithm for cooperative systems. The computational complexity of this algorithm increases linearly with the number of agents. Moreover, it eliminates environment non sta tionarity by carrying a round-robin scheduling of the action selection and execution. That this learning scheme allows the implementation of Modular State-Action Vetoes (MSAV) in cooperative multi-agent systems, which speeds up learning convergence in over-constrained systems by vetoing state-action pairs which lead to undesired termination states (UTS) in the relevant state-action subspace. Each agent's local state-action value function learning is an independent process, including the MSAV policies. Coordination of locally optimal policies to obtain the global optimal joint policy is achieved by a greedy selection procedure using message passing. We show that D-RR-QL improves over state-of-the-art approaches, such as Distributed Q-Learning, Team Q-Learning and Coordinated Reinforcement Learning in a paradigmatic Linked Multi-Component Robotic System (L-MCRS) control problem: the hose transportation task. L-MCRS are over-constrained systems with many UTS induced by the interaction of the passive linking element and the active mobile robots.

[ES] Este trabajo explora el rol de los sistemas de la contabilidad de gestión en el desempeño de Joint Ventures (JV) del tipo 50/50 en la industria autopartista. Se investiga el impacto que la experiencia previa de los directivos tiene sobre la intensidad y propósito de uso de los sistemas de la contabilidad de gestión y como ellos afectan el desempeño de JVs. El estudio de este fenómeno surge a partir de los resultados reportados en tres estudios de campo exploratorios en JVs (Groot y Merchant 2000) y de otros tres casos de JVs internacionales en la industria autopartista (Porporato 2013) en donde se sugieren que el efecto de los sistemas de control de gestión en el desempeño organizacional es secundario. Los resultados aquí reportados se basan en una encuesta efectuada a 35 JV internacionales y ofrece resultados alineados con la literatura existente. Los resultados muestran que el desempeño organizacional mejora cuando se reduce la incertidumbre de factores percibidos como controlables por los directivos; un factor se percibe como controlable cuando mayor es la experiencia que el directivo tiene con el mismo. La incertidumbre, según la define Galbraith (1973), se reduce vía un uso intensivo de los sistemas de contabilidad de gestión, lo que su vez impacta positivamente en el desempeño organizacional.
