KFC, the chain fast-food restaurants in UK, planed to launched coffee products through campaigns. There are two main reasons for KFC to make the decision. The first one is KFC tried to promote its coffee products with KFC A.M. breakfast plan and it failed at last. The second reason is that KFC needs extension points of interest. The financial condition of KFC has been steady but no breakthrough growth. It has been showed that there is enormous potential of “fast-drink” market in UK. After the success of KFC “Krushems” series, it is reasonable for the company launched coffee products. However, KFC also faced to many challenges to win the market. Compare to the main competitor of McDonald’s, KFC’s quantity of restaurants is far too less. Moreover, KFC has a brand limitation that focuses more family than single urban. The dominant competitors are another challenge KFC need to manage. To sum up, KFC has to win these challenges to be a bigger player in UK coffee market.

Decision making and planning of children in the reproductive process of males

Reproduction is not restricted to the biological; it is also a complex and dynamic social process. The objective of this paper is to analyze the decision and planning of children as part of the reproductive process in men. Methodologically, a qualitative research was made. The analysis includes in-depth interviews with 30 parents between 20 and 45 years, of medium socio-economic level in México. The results show that the reproductive process incorporates family formation negotiated with their couple the marriage until they had economic potential. In some cases, their decision hastened because the couple was pregnant. The planning was not contemplated but when getting the news, they accept it and get involved in the process, while others see it as a conflict.

Study habits inventory of physical therapy students in a decisions making class

Objective. To present the results of Study Habits Inventory, administered to students of the signature Decision Making IV, of Physiotherapy Program of the Rosario University. Methodology. It was investigated in the second half of 2006, study habits and conditions that influence how students of the subject assumes its university activity. The instrument used was the Inventory of Study Habits - described by Pozar, which let to know how the student engages in his studio, materials, environment and planning in its efforts to exercise their academic role. It was administered to a sample of 46 students enrolled in the 54 subjects at 85% of the total population. Results. 33% of students found that the environmental study is not satisfactory to the learning process, similar to the 41% who said that the planning study is insufficient, the use of materials was evaluated by 61% of students as a positive factor as well as 93% in the category of assimilation of content. This calls to validate the need to confront the meaning and significance for students and professors “content assimilation” as the study shows that it is reverse to academic performance. Discussion It is necessary to implement strategies that strengthen habits in students to achieve academic success and personal training considering the particular conditions of each group of students.

Does uncertainty cause inertia in decision making? An experimental study of the role of regret aversion and indecisiveness

Previous research has shown that often there is clear inertia in individual decision making---that is, a tendency for decision makers to choose a status quo option. I conduct a laboratory experiment to investigate two potential determinants of inertia in uncertain environments: (i) regret aversion and (ii) ambiguity-driven indecisiveness. I use a between-subjects design with varying conditions to identify the effects of these two mechanisms on choice behavior. In each condition, participants choose between two simple real gambles, one of which is the status quo option. I find that inertia is quite large and that both mechanisms are equally important.

El proyecto quiere que los alumnos practiquen los conocimientos adquiridos y desarrollen la competencia comunicativa oral, tanto de comprensión como de producción, en el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje de Francés e Inglés en Secundaria. Los objetivos son identificar las connotaciones de tipo sociocultural propias de los intercambios orales en lengua extranjera; indentificar los distintos esquemas discursivos de los documentos de televisión; participar en intercambios orales; producir materiales didácticos con apoyo de vídeo; e intercambiar experiencias didácticas a través de Internet. Para ello se produce un documento con tipología variada y soporte en vídeo en francés e inglés y poder así contactar con otros centros europeos mediante Internet. Primero se elabora una ficha con la descripción de la actividad que luego se graba, y que consiste en presentaciones personales, visitas-presentaciones del centro o del barrio, problemas y opiniones. También se analizan los modelos discursivos de los documentos orales de televisión y se producen documentos a partir de una matriz de producción. Mediante cuestionarios, se evalúa la experiencia, las dificultades planteadas y la participación. Incluye las fichas didácticas elaboradas por los departamentos de Inglés y Francés.
