Diálogos que constroem sentidos: uma análise estilística de letras dos Engenheiros do Hawaii

The purpose of this work is the presentation of three lyrics of selected songs from the Brazilian national band Engenheiros do Hawaii and of a stylistic analysis showing how resources such as intertextuality, polyphony and word games helped building different effects of meaning. This work also attempts to show the importance of the reader in relating the elements presented in the lyrics with other texts of his/her repertoire, in order to expand the number of possible interpretations. The higher the repertoire of the reader, higher will be its ability to dialogue with other texts, considering both texts already read in the past or dialogues to be made with future texts

O conceito de região e problemas filosóficos: significado epistemológico da história regional e a constituição histórica do espaço liso e do espaço estriado

The concept of region raises two related historical problems. First of all, it concerns the epistemological accomplishment of regional history, since the need to provide a total history, one of the main challenges of the Annales movement, undergoes an impact with the notion of local, so that the overflight of the historic totality becomes nowadays an intensive totality. The historian who overflies the reality is replaced by the wanderer historian. In addition to this epistemological question, we can think about the historical feature of spaces. From an ontological point of view, according to the modes of its composition, as well as from the standpoint of its practical constitution, space can be either smooth or striated. These types of space belong to the Gilles Deleuze s nomadology and their definition might improve the characterization and description of historical spaces with regard to a certain contemporary historiographical movement known as the New Cultural History.Key Words: history;space;nomadism.

Teoria e metodologia na escrita da História do Brasil: Afonso de Taunay e a Academia Brasileira de Letras

The history of historiography in recent decades has the breathing space needed in the concerns of historians and has been transformed into a research field with its own issues. Uploaded this in perspective, this paper aims to understand how aspects of the theory of history and methodology have been addressed by Afonso de Escragnolle Taunay (1876-1958). We selected the letters exchanged by the author, the speeches of acceptance at the ABL, some articles and books produced by Taunay in the 1930s. In the first decades of the twentieth century, when it sought to define the historiography and its limits in both the literature and social science sources, the subjectivity is presented as the final decision making of the author, especially those related to the new site production Taunay, the Brazilian Academy of Letters.

Multifuncionalidade e (inter)subjetivização: a gramaticalização de assim

Este artigo estuda os usos de assim, com o objetivo de descrever seu comportamento sintático, semântico e pragmático à luz dos pressupostos teóricos da gramaticalização, entendida como parte do estudo linguístico que focaliza a mudança que se dá a partir de um processo gradual de pragmatização do significado, que envolve estratégias de caráter inferencial, que aumentam a informação pragmática, e estratégias metafóricas, que acarretam a abstratização (TRAUGOTT, 1982, 1995). Sugere-se uma trajetória unidirecional que parte do proposicional ao textual e à (inter)subjetivização, relativa ao fato de que os falantes desenvolvem significados novos para lexemas já existentes.
