This paper examines the extensive regions of Proterozoic accretionary belts that either formed most of the Amazonian Craton, or are marginal to its southeastern border. Their overall geodynamic significance is considered taking into account the paleogeographic reconstruction of Columbia, Rodinia and Gondwana. Amazonia would be part of Columbia together With Laurentia, North China and Baltica, forming a continuous, continental landmass linked by the Paleo- to Mesoproterozoic mobile belts that constitute large portions of it. The Rodinia supercontinent was formed in the Mesoproterozoic by the agglutination of the existing cratonic fragments, such as Laurentia and Amazonia, during contemporary continental collisions worldwide. The available paleomagnetic data suggest that Laurentia and Amazonia remained attached until at least 600 Ma. Since all other cratonic units Surrounding Laurentia have already rifted away by that time, the separation between Amazonia and Laurentia marks the final break-up of Rodinia with the opening of the lapetus ocean. The Granada ignimbrite, an Upper Miocene volcanic unit from the northern Puna, previously has been interpreted as an extensive ignimbrite (>2300 km(2)) associated with eruptions from the Vilama caldera (trap-door event). On the basis of new data, we revise its correlation and redefine the unit as a compound, high aspect ratio ignimbrite, erupted at approximately 9.8 Ma. Calculated volumes (similar to 100 km(3)) are only moderate in comparison with other large volume (>1000 km(3)) ignimbrites that erupted approximately 2-6 m.y. later in the region (e.g. Vilama, Panizos, Atana). Six new volcanic units are recognized from sequences previously correlated with Granada (only one sourced from the same center). Consequently, the area ascribed to the Granada ignimbrite is substantially reduced (630 km(2)), and links to the Vilama caldera are not supported. Transport directions suggest the volcanic source for the Granada ignimbrite corresponds to vents buried under younger (>= 7.9-5 Ma) volcanic rocks of the Abra Granada volcanic complex. Episodes of caldera collapse at some stage of eruption are likely, though their nature and timing cannot be defined from available data. The eruption of the Granada ignimbrite marks the onset of a phase of large volume (caldera-sourced) volcanism in the northern Puna. (C) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

In offset printing, dampening solution is used to create a good balance in the process. If too much water is transferred to the paper, the sheet can change its size between the printing units, due to water absorption, and cause a problem with the colour register. This phenomenon is usually referred to as fanout. In this degree project, an investigation was made to see if the paper dimensions changed through its way in the sheet-fed printing process. The instrument Luchs Register Measuring Systems (Lynx) was used, and a method for measuring if the paper changed its dimensions with this instrument, was developed. Paper qualities with three different grammages were used, 90, 130 and 250 gsm. This investigation showed that all paper qualities changed their size with widening in the gripper edge in the range of 10 - 70 µm and in the trailing edge the increase was 10 - 130 µm. The elongations of the papers were in the range of 10- 300 µm. The papers with lowest grammage changed more than the heavier. To see if the print had been affected of the widening and elongation, print quality parameters like relative contrast, dot gain and mottle were correlated with the Lynx data from the sheets. The group of papers that gave correlations were in 130 gsm. The sheets had visual doubling and the combined standard deviation from the Lynx marks K3, K5 and K21 correlated with dot gain. When the variations increased so did the dot gain and this indicates that the doubling was due to the widening. There was also a correlation between the standard deviation from K3 and Mottle. The sheets widened with an average of 30 µm in the gripper edge and since there probably were doubling due to widening it also affected the Mottle values. What the widening depends on is hard to tell. Since widening was so small, it could be due to water absorption, papers being ironed out or maybe the sheets have been flattened out. It probably needs a more detailed investigation to find out what causes the widening. Further investigations about how print quality is affected by the register accuracy of a printing machine should include a print form with measuring areas close to the Lynx marks. The measuring areas should contain fine hairlines, negative text printed with at least two colours and some pictures to evaluate together with standard measuring should give a good knowledge about the subject.

In this degree project a study of the importance of a graphic identity to companies has been done. A questionnaire among small companies in Dalarna has beenmade. From this, three sets of graphic profile-program have been formed andthese are suitable for new companies. Finally a practical application has been made on Greenfield in Mora, a graphic profile has been designed.To cause an identity is to prove that someone or something exists by individualizingand distinguish. Every individual or company has its qualities or charasteristics.The way to a desirable identity is going by a corporate identity-program that containsthe companies strategies, people, products, buildings, trademarks, graphic design. To create an identity a well considered strategy is needed, where all members of the company are involved. This will lead to a positive image and means for an efficient market communication. The identity of the company is that the company wish what the company/product will stand for, but the image is what the market think about the company/product. The surrounding worldwill be convinced that the company is a reliable producer or deliverer. The companyvill also be regarded as useful and responsable, profitable as an object or partner and a good place of work.Today, trademarking is the most important carrier of identity for a company. A trademark, like a word, a picture or a slogan, will distinguish a product from theothers. What is needed to build up a strong trademark? How can a trade markbe developed to an advantage?To get a lot of people in the same direction clear guidlines are needed. Usually you focused on graphic design, especially the symbols and marks of the companies.The results are presented on a graphic profile, documented in a graphic manual.

Variation i björkvirkets färg beror på art, läge i träd, ursprung och lagringstid. Vårtbjörk har en mörkare färg än glasbjörk, men livligare struktur och glans. Timmer hugget under tillväxtsäsongen bör sågas färskt eller lagras högst en månad. Vid brädgårdstorkning är god luftcirkulation och skydd för väta och direkt solljus väsentligt. Strövirkets färskhet är av stor betydelse för att undvika fuktfärgning av virket.Variation in birch colours depend on species, position in tree, origin and the storage period. White birch is darker than hairy birch but with a lively structure and shine. During vegetation period timber storage exceeding one month should be avoided. Air circulation, protection from rain and direct sunlight are essential for yard drying. Freshness of stickers used for stacking is important to avoid water marks on wood surface.

Dissonant Voices has a twofold aspiration. First, it is a philosophical treatment of everyday pedagogical interactions between children and their elders, between teachers and pupils. More specifically it is an exploration of the possibilities to go on with dissonant voices that interrupt established practices – our attunement – in behaviour, practice and thinking. Voices that are incomprehensible or expressions that are unacceptable, morally or otherwise. The text works on a tension between two inclinations: an inclination to wave off, discourage, or change an expression that is unacceptable or unintelligible; and an inclination to be tolerant and accept the dissonant expression as doing something worthwhile, but different. The second aspiration is a philosophical engagement with children’s literature. Reading children’s literature becomes a form of philosophising, a way to explore the complexity of a range of philosophical issues. This turn to literature marks a dissatisfaction with what philosophy can accomplish through argumentation and what philosophy can do with a particular and limited set of concepts for a subject, such as ethics. It is a way to go beyond philosophising as the founding of theories that justify particular responses. The philosophy of dissonance and children’s literature becomes a way to destabilise justifications of our established practices and ways of interacting. The philosophical investigations of dissonance are meant to make manifest the possibilities and risks of engaging in interactions beyond established agreement or attunements. Thinking of the dissonant voice as an expression beyond established practices calls for improvisation. Such improvisations become a perfectionist education where both the child and the elder, the teacher and the student, search for as yet unattained forms of interaction and take responsibility for every word and action of the interaction. The investigation goes through a number of picture books and novels for children such as Harry Potter, Garmann’s Summer, and books by Shaun Tan, Astrid Lindgren and Dr. Seuss as well narratives by J.R.R. Tolkien, Henrik Ibsen, Jane Austen and Henry David Thoreau. These works of fiction are read in conversation with philosophical works of, and inspired by, Ludwig Wittgenstein and Stanley Cavell, their moral perfectionism and ordinary language philosophy.

O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar a organização espaço-temporal dos segmentos da perna e da coxa no saltar à horizontal, verificando as infiuências do organismo e do ambiente (dois tipos de piso: concreto e areia). Participaram do estudo 21 sujeitos, 3 de cada faixa etária: 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 e adulta (X = 19 anos de idade). Os sujeitos foram filmados realizando o saltar à horizontal com marcas desenhadas no centro das articulações do tornozelo, joelho e quadril. Estes pontos foram digitalizados e processados obtendo a posição e velocidade angular dos segmentos da perna e da coxa. A partir da posição e velocidade angular foi possível delinear os gráficos dos atratores (retratos de fase) e calcular os valores dos ângulos de fase para cada segmento, durante a realização da tarefa. Duas reversões para cada segmento, na posição angular, foram identificadas e nestes momentos os valores dos ângulos de fase foram capturados. Analisando as trajetórias dos retratos de fase verificou-se que os segmentos da perna e da coxa apresentaram um conjunto específico de características topológicas, na realização do saltar à horizontal. A análise dos valores dos ângulos de fase, nas duas reversões, indicou que ao longo das faixas etárias e nos dois tipos de piso os segmentos da perna e da coxa apresentaram organização espaço-temporal semelhante, indicando coordenação invariante.

Neste trabalho estudamos modelos teóricos que descrevem sistemas eletrônicos fortemente correlacionados, em especial o modelo t-J, e suas aplicações a compostos de óxidos de cobre, notadamente os compostos que apresentam supercondutividade de alta temperatura crítica e o composto Sr2CuO2Cl2. No primeiro capítulo do trabalho, fazemos uma exposição de três modelos que envolvem o tratamento das interações elétron-elétron, que são os modelos de Hubbard de uma banda, o modelo de Heisenberg e o modelo t-J. Na dedução deste último fazemos uma expansão canônica do hamiltoniano de Hubbard, no limite de acoplamento forte, levando-nos a obter um novo hamiltoniano que pode ser utilizado para descrever um sistema antiferromagnético bidimensional na presen- ça de lacunas, que é exatamente o que caracteriza os compostos supercondutores de alta temperatura crítica na sua fase de baixa dopagem.Após termos obtido o hamiltoniano que descreve o modelo t-J, aplicamos à este uma descrição de polarons de spin, numa representação de holons, que são férmions sem spin, e spinons, que são bósons que carregam somente os graus de liberdade de spin. Utilizando uma função de Green para descrever a propagação do polaron pela rede, obtemos uma equação para a sua autoenergia somando uma série de diagramas de Feynman, sendo que para este cálculo utilizamos a aproxima ção de Born autoconsistente[1]. Do ponto de vista numérico demonstramos que a equação integral de Dyson resultante do tratamento anterior não requer um procedimento iterativo para sua solução, e com isto conseguimos trabalhar com sistemas com grande número de partículas. Os resultados mostram, como um aspecto novo, que o tempo de vida média do holon tem um valor bastante grande no ponto (π,0 ) da rede recíproca, perto da singularidade de Van Hove mencionada na literatura[2]. Este aspecto, e suas implicações, é amplamente discutido neste capítulo. No capítulo 3 estudamos o modelo estendido t-t'-J, com tunelamento à segundos vizinhos e a incorporação dos termos de três sítios[3]. Fazemos a mesma formulação do capítulo anterior, e discutimos as aplicações dos nossos resultados ao óxido mencionado anteriormente. Finalmente, no último capítulo apresentamos uma aplicação original do modelo t-J à uma rede retangular, levemente distorcida, e demonstramos que os resultados do capítulo 3 são reproduzidos sem necessidade de introduzir termos de tunelamento adicionais no hamiltoniano. Esta aplicação pode se tornar relevante para o estudo das fases de tiras encontradas recentemente nesses materiais de óxidos de cobre.

Este trabalho pretende demonstrar como a realidade que alcança os imigrantes vindos daSuíça e de outros países, a geografia, as belezas naturais, os remanescentes traçosculturais e os fatores climáticos, são os pontos que diferenciam positivamente NovaFriburgo da maioria dos municípios do estado do Rio de Janeiro, conferindo-lhe um papelprivilegiado no cenário turístico. Também defende a importância da adoção de análises deambiente como atividades permanentes do planejamento turístico, e, por meio deresultados obtidos em levantamentos e pesquisas realizados, sugere a definição deestratégias que poderão gerar aumentos significativos nos resultados obtidos pelo setor deturismo, facilitando a realização de investimentos, o envolvimento da população, e a açãoconjunta entre o poder público, a iniciativa privada e o terceiro setor, influenciandopositivamente o desenvolvimento sustentável de uma cidade potencialmente turística.

O programa de privatizações brasileiro dos anos 90 vem se constituindo num dos maiores do mundo e assinala o fim do Estado desenvolvimentista no país. Quais foram as principais características desse processo e em que medida ele se distinguiu dos programas de privatização de outros países? A privatização das principais empresas estatais brasileiras, tanto no setor produtivo quanto de serviços, introduziu importantes modificações no funcionamento da economia brasileira. O objetivo deste trabalho é fazer uma análise do processo de privatizações brasileiro, estabelecendo uma comparação com outros programas de privatização realizados nos últimos 20 anos, que realce as peculiaridades de cada processo e as mudanças que isso acarretou no funcionamento da economia brasileira. Indaga-se de que maneira esse processo implica na reordenação do tripé setor estatal, capital privado nacional e capital estrangeiro. Quais são as conseqüências da substituição de monopólios estatais por oligopólios estrangeiros em termos de preços, produtividade e de qualidade dos serviços?
