Preliminary studies on nutritive and organoleptic properties in processed fish fillets obtained from Iran

The effects of boiling, frying, and roasting methods on nutrients and properties some of marine fishes were studies. AOAC official methods were used for the analyses of the samples. Frying reduced the protein content of Nemipterus japonicas, while roasting reduced the protein content of Carangoides malabaricus and Saurida undosquamis. Fresh and fried C. malabaricus had 71.2% and 57.05% protein content, respectively, while N. japonicas had 57.39% and 47.51%, respectively. The highest oil content in C.malabaricus was 16.80%, followed by N.japonicus 12.80%; while the lowest oil content in S.undosquamis was 5.88%. N.japonicusis protein content reduced with frying. Some cooking methods used in the processing can have an effect on of fish nutrient composition. The texture of fried and boiled fish fillets significantly differ from that of the roasted fillets (p<0.05).

Crescimento da firma e comércio exterior: revisitando a teoria de Adrian Wood

This paper analyzes the growth of the firm by foreign trade. The theory of Adrian Wood is revisited for the analysis of growth and profit trade-off and improved to cope with growth by exports. The main outcome of this paper is that low domestic demand can be a very important factor to firm choices growth by foreign market. However, the growth of domestic demand does not necessarily reduce exports.

A industrialização da pauta de exportação brasileira entre 1964 e 1974: novos dados e índices para o comércio exterior brasileiro do período

This paper analyses the effects on Brazil's trade indices of the rising share of industrial products in Brazil's exports in the period from 1964 to 1974. New price and quantity indices of Fisher for Brazil's exports and imports of industrial and non-industrial goods have been especially constructed for this period, in order to obtain methodologically consistent series of indexes from 1964 to 2005. The market-share-constant model was applied to analyze the effects of different groups of products on Brazil's export revenues between 1964 and 1974.

O comportamento recente do investimento direto brasileiro no exterior em perspectiva

The recent behavior of the Brazilian direct investment abroad in perspective. This paper analyzes the recent behavior of the Brazilian direct investment abroad, as captured by an annual census conducted by the Central Bank of Brazil since 2001, by putting it in a broader perspective that includes international official data sources and early sample studies. Though the Central Bank has not been making available more disaggregated data than those analyzed here, it is intended to contribute to a better grasping of the perspectives of competitive internationalization of local firms, which is desirable not only as far as the external accounts are concerned, but also from the viewpoint of the technological capabilities of the local firms.

Yleissuunnittelu Uudellamaalla vuosina 1997 - 2015 : Suojavyöhykkeet, kosteikot ja luonnon monimuotoisuus

Yleissuunnittelun tavoitteena on ollut kohdentaa ympäristönsuojelutoimenpiteet tarkoituksenmukaisille alueille ja kannustaa viljelijöitä ympäristötekoihin. Alkuvuosina Uudellamaalla keskityttiin suojavyöhykkeisiin, mutta sen jälkeen yleissuunnitelmissa on etsitty sopivia kohteita myös luonnon monimuotoisuuden edistämiseen ja kosteikkojen perustamiseen. Suojavyöhykkeiden yleissuunnitelmat kattavat lähes koko Uudenmaan. Suunnitelmien teon yhteydessä ja eri hankkeissa suojavyöhyk-keitä on markkinoitu viljelijöille. Suojavyöhykkeiden suosio oli ensimmäisellä ympäristötukikaudella 1995–1999 vähäistä, mutta on kas-vanut vuosien kuluessa osittain viljelijöille suunnatun täsmämarkkinoinnin ansiosta. Vuonna 2015 alkaneella ympäristökorvauskaudella suojavyöhykkeiden hakumenettelyä kevennettiin ja tukitasoa nostettiin. Suojavyöhykkeiden määrä yli kolminkertaistui noin 4 300 heh-taariin. Kosteikkojen perustamisessa ongelmana on ollut ympäristötuen vaatimusten täyttäminen ja ympäristökorvauksen piirissä olevia kos-teikoita on Uudellamaalla vain muutama. Luonnon monimuotoisuuden edistämisen tuen hakijoiden määrä on vähentynyt, mutta haetut kohteet ovat varsin suuria, jolloin sopimusala on kasvanut viime vuosina. Nykyisenkaltaisia yleissuunnitelmia ei ainakaan lähivuosina enää toteuteta. Jatkossa tulisi hyödyntää tehtyjä yleissuunnitelmia ja koh-dentaa suojavyöhykkeitä peltolohkoille, joissa niistä on kaikkein suurin hyöty.

Fluxos de investimento direto externo, competitividade e conteúdo tecnológico do comércio exterior da China no início do século XXI

Foreign direct investment flow, competitiveness and technological structure of foreign trade in China in the beginning of the 21st century. China's government introduced open market reforms in 1979, mediated by industrial policies improving the ability of attracting higher quality FDI (Foreign Direct Investment), which helped China's economy developing its technological capabilities. As a result, China's share in international trade rose impressively becoming third-largest trading nation in the world, by 2004, also its export structure is significantly more sophisticated. Facing the importance of understanding the determinants of developing word specialization patterns, this paper focuses on the competitiveness and technological structure of exports and imports by China for 1994-1998 and 2001-2005.

Desindustrialização e comércio exterior: evidências recentes para o Brasil

De-industrialization and foreign trade: recent evidences to Brazil. This paper analyses the behavior of the Brazilian manufacturing sector during the 2000's. We test the hypothesis of early de-industrialization induced by foreign trade. Our results show a mixed picture: although we showed signs of early de-industrialization induced by foreign trade, at the same time, we found evidence that Brazilian entrepreneurs have reduced manufacturing exports during internal market boom between 2004 and 2010. This fact determines the deterioration of trade balance of the manufacturing sector and justifies worries on long-term perspectives for Brazilian economy.
