Imperial Eyes. Van Dycks Porträtmalerei als globale Technologie

Zu Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts hatte sich die Malerei in Antwerpen vor allem durch Rubens als Medium einer zunehmend global verbundenen Welt etabliert. Doch auch zahlreiche von Van Dycks Porträts sind Zeugnisse eines oft hochgradig ambivalenten Kosmopolitismus. Neben Gemälden von international agierenden Antwerpener Händlern und Gelehrten fertigte der Künstler auch in Genua und England Porträts der adligen Elite an, in welchen sich deren globale Erfahrungen und Ambitionen spiegelten. Van Dyck reagierte in der Inszenierung der Marchesa Elena Grimaldi Cattaneo, mit einem schwarzen Sklaven, wie in der des Earl of Denbigh, zwischen einheimischen und exotischen Elementen, auf spezifische Anforderungen an das repräsentative Porträt im Zeitalter des disenclavement. Diese Anforderungen werden besonders deutlich in dem für eine geplante Expedition nach Madagaskar entstandenen Porträt des Earls of Arundel und dessen Frau Alethea Talbot. Das Gemälde verbindet Elemente herrschaftlicher, merkantilistischer und intellektueller Selbststilisierung mit einer Reduktion auf wenige, innovative Elemente. Die majestätische Inszenierung des Paars ist nur in einem globalen Kontext zu erklären, so dass sich die Frage nach der Funktion des in mehreren Werkstattkopien erhaltenen Gemäldes stellt. Hatte Van Dyck in seiner Komposition eine Lösung gefunden, die im Kontext des englischen Hofes, möglicherweise als Teil eines Festes, wie auch für potentielle Investoren, sowie die verarmte Landbevölkerung, die in der Indentur ihre einzige Hoffnung sah, gleichermaßen überzeugend wirkte? Die Hybris in dem überlebensgroßen Porträts des Paares, das mit leuchtend heller Haut, in kostbar glänzende Stoffe gekleidet und mit modernen Messinstrumenten in den Händen dargestellt ist, lässt es als ideales Medium der globalen Ambitionen des Paars erscheinen.

Mineralogical composition, copper and d18O at DSDP Site 59-448

Alteration in a submarine remnant volcanic arc should leave an important record of (1) the mineralogy of sea water-volcanic arc rock interaction; (2) the chemistry of solid reaction products; (3) the isotopic characteristics of such reactions (Muehlenbachs and Clayton, 1972; Spooner, Beckinsale, et al , 1977; Spooner, Chapman, et al., 1977); (4) the metallogenesis within such a sequence (Mitchell and Bell, 1973); and (5) the geothermal gradient during the alteration. The volcaniclastic breccias, tuffs, and igneous units of Sites 448 (993 m) and 451 (930.5 m) on the Palau-Kyushu and West Mariana ridges, respectively, are particularly suited for such studies because the thick sequences have remained submarine throughout their history, seemingly unaffected by magmatic or hydrothermal events after cessation of volcanic activity. Also, shipboard observations indicated a change in alteration products with depth. At both sites the igneous units and volcaniclastic rocks were altered to brownish clays and zeolites near the top of the volcanic sequence; to bright blue green clays and zeolites at moderate depths; and to very dark, nearly opaque, forest green clays and zeolites at still greater depths. Native copper occurs both as disseminated pockets in the volcaniclastic breccias and vesicular basalts and as veins in the breccias; native copper is restricted to stratigraphic levels characterized by the absence of sulfides or oxides of copper and iron. Although some native copper is found in vesicles of basalts and may be orthomagmatic, most of it is clearly secondary. Near dikes and sills, higher sulfur fugacity conditions caused the precipitation of iron and copper sulfides with an absence of native copper (Garrels and Christ, 1965). The occurrence of native copper may be an initial stage of Cu metallogenesis that forms porphyry coppers in island arcs (Mitchell and Bell, 1973). This study will address primarily the possibility that hydrothermal sea water interaction with volcanic arc rocks has created the mineralogical and isotopic zonation in Leg 59 cores. Hydrothermal activity can be expected in a rapidly growing island arc and is probably the result of a high geothermal gradient prevalent during arc magmatic activity. DONA FLOR E SEUS DOIS MARIDOS: O LIVRO E A MINISSÉRIE

Este trabalho é centrado na análise de Dona Flor e seus dois maridos, minissérie produzida pela Rede Globo de Televisão em 1997, para o horário das 22 horas e veiculada na emissora, em 20 capítulos. Com direção geral de Mauro Mendonça Filho foi adaptada por Dias Gomes, com co-autoria de Marcílio Moraes e Ferreira Gullar a partir do romance homônimo do escritor baiano Jorge Amado, publicado pela primeira vez em maio de 1966 pela editora Livraria Martins, com tiragem de 75 mil exemplares. Nosso objetivo foi verificar qualitativamente o tratamento dado a um tema específico, presente no romance e na minissérie, qual seja, a culinária, na passagem do romance para o produto televisivo, sob o foco do erotismo. Como metodologia utilizamos o método qualitativo, e como técnica, a análise de conteúdo. Demonstrou-se que na passagem do romance para a televisão, a culinária foi retratada de forma menos erotizada, em relação ao livro, em função da exigência do suporte, bem como sua inserção tratou de evidenciar o caráter regional da minissérie.(AU)

DESENVOLVIMENTO DO TEATRO MUSICAL BRASILEIRO À LUZ DA NOTORIEDADE MIDIÁTICA DAS ADAPTAÇÕES E DOS ARTISTAS

O trabalho tem a proposta de analisar os desdobramentos do teatro musical brasileiro desde a primeira encenação em território nacional de adaptações de espetáculos do Teatro de Revista, gênero originário da França, até as superproduções musicais realizadas nos últimos 16 anos de adaptações de espetáculos americanos. O panorama histórico e analítico será estudado, com ênfase no teatro musical que se utiliza de elementos midiatizados para estar inserido em uma sociedade em que a produção cultural é vista como internacionalizada e mercantilizada. Como forma de marketing, os produtores utilizam-se da notoriedade midiática presente em formatos estrangeiros já consagrados, adaptações renomadas e bem aceitas pelo público, além da fama de celebridades que são escaladas para os musicais. Tudo para a conquista de um patrocinador que, por sua vez, acaba fazendo exigências que interferem de maneira decisiva na montagem dos espetáculos. Em meio a um processo onde são tantos os direcionamentos pré-estabelecidos por patrocinadores, onde se encontra o genuíno teatro musical brasileiro? A pesquisa abrange o ineditismo da presença de temáticas nacionais em formatos estrangeiros e agrega o conjunto de fatores que possibilitam que um roteiro de musical saia do papel e adentre os palcos, tais como as políticas públicas de incentivos fiscais; a ligação de empresas patrocinadoras e suas marcas a musicais; o fato de que, mesmo as produções sendo pagas por dinheiro público, possuírem ingressos que não são a preços populares. Para auxiliar nas conjecturas a serem formadas, será utilizada uma metodologia histórico-descritiva com foco na relação do tema com elementos notórios na mídia, como os artistas e obras a serem adaptadas no palco.

A construção histórica do direito do trabalho como resistência à aplicação do pós-positivismo

O advento da teoria pós-positivista de Robert Alexy teve seus efeitos sentidos no Direito do Trabalho, principalmente por passar a ser constantemente mencionada em decisões trabalhistas. O presente trabalho se propõe, então, a dois objetivos centrais: a partir da análise da principal obra de Robert Alexy, Teoria dos Direitos Fundamentais, em cotejo com a jurisprudência trabalhista, demonstrar que nessas decisões não há, de fato, a aplicação da teoria pós-positivista, tal qual construída pelo jurista alemão e, posteriormente, que, ainda que fosse aplicada corretamente, ela própria é de todo incompatível com o Direito do Trabalho, em virtude da construção histórica deste ramo.
