Atlas interativo do Pontal do Paranapanema: uma contribuição à educação ambiental

A área do Pontal do Paranapanema está localizada no Extremo Oeste do Estado de São Paulo, na região sudeste do Brasil, em uma posição estratégica considerando tanto sua proximidade com os Estados de Mato Grosso do Sul e Paraná quanto o advento do Mercosul - o mercado comum do Cone Sul. No Estado de São Paulo há três áreas muito carentes, uma das quais é o Pontal do Paranapanema, onde têm havido muitos conflitos sociais relativos à posse e propriedade da terra, envolvendo disputas entre o Estado e os latifundiários. Nos últimos anos os trabalhadores rurais têm realizado ocupações nesta região e reivindicado terras - eles criaram um grupo denominado MST (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra), que tem ganhado popularidade e apoio de vários segmentos da comunidade, estando diariamente na mídia (jornais, TV etc). A comunidade acadêmica tem estado consciente e preocupada com esta situação e, portanto, tem desenvolvido estudos e pesquisas sobre o assunto, tanto individualmente quanto através de grupos de pesquisa. Uma das mais importantes Universidades Brasileiras é a Universidade Estadual Paulista (unesp), que tem um de seus campus localizado no município de Presidente Prudente (o qual está localizado no Pontal do Paranapanema). Desde a década de 1960 diversos pesquisadores têm desenvolvido pesquisas técnico-científicas almejando produzir um Atlas do Pontal do Paranapanema em formato convencional. O principal objetivo seria o de reunir, através de mapas topográficos e temáticos, todas as informações geográficas sobre o Pontal do Paranapanema, a fim de servir de base para projetos e planejamentos governamentais (municipais ou estaduais), bem como para o setor privado. Influência do uso e ocupação da terra na dinâmica do rio São Lourenço - estado de Mato Grosso

This study aims to analyze the relationship between deforestation in the highlands of the São Francisco River Basin over the past 45 years due to agricultural activities and livestock , and the observed changes in the dynamics of the same river in the Pantanal of Mato Grosso , as sinuosity , discharge sediment , flow, points of erosion and morphological changes . It is observed that deforestation occurs in the plain and on the plateau , however with much more intensity in the latter, provided the extensive land use in the region . Thus, the study aims to contribute to a better understanding of the relationships between the uplands and flood plains . To achieve this goal will be used proper methods of geomorphological and geological sciences , with emphasis on the use of satellite imagery and hydrological data side . The research will include the following steps : I) literature review ; II) characterization geomorphological , geological , hydrological and climate , III) Dynamics of vegetation ; IV) Analysis of cause-effect relationships in the river system . Product analysis will suggest preventive measures to minimize the effects caused by the practices of use and occupation in the study area, as well as other regions suffer the same impacts

Monarquia e República nas crônicas machadianas

This article aims to analyze the significant social and political aspects of the transition from the Parliamentary Constitutional Monarchy to Federal and Presidential Republic, according to the literary work of the writer from Rio de Janeiro Joaquim Maria Machado de Assis (1839-1908). Some of these aspects appeared in Machadian chronicles entitled Balas de Estalo, published in the daily newspaper Gazeta News between 1883 and 1887. These chronicles were signed by Lelio, one of the nicknames of Machado de Assis.

O ringue escolar: as meninas no tatame

Whereas acts of violence in the school environment reflect cultural changes and social developments experienced by contemporary society, an important aspect to be studied with regard to gender issues, specifically those related to the new role assumed by women in contemporary society. Thus, this project aims to analyze the relationship between gender and school violence from the investigation of the perception that students in a class of high school, a public school in the city of Rio Claro, have on the subject. In addition, we attempted to contextualize historically gender relations throughout history; identify which gender is the highest occurrence of fights, as well as list the reasons identified by students for violence in the school environment. The results showed that school violence committed by females is performed by the towering male. And that in a nutshell, the reasons identified for the occurrence of school violence are related to disrespect, prejudices, misunderstandings, emotional issues and conflicts occurring in everyday spot.

Americanismo e iberismo: a questão do atraso na América Latina

This article aims to analyze some aspects os interpretations of Brazil listed in Tavares Bastos, André Rebouças and Oliveira Viana. In this context, the debate on the concepts of americanism and “iberismo” become fundamental to the analysis of the development of the modernization process which it lasted from the second half of the nineteenth century to the mid of the twenty century.

Curva de Kuznets ambiental para o Estado de Mato Grosso

Issues concerning deforestation have become a crucial theme in the environmental world debate. In this picture, Mato Grosso State has become an unfavorable example because it represents 36% of the accumulated deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon. In order to investigate the relationship between deforestation and income growth, this paper estimates an Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) for 139 cities of Mato Grosso through spatial econometrics. Using data for the year 2006, we estimate an EKC for the deforestation per capita against income per capita and other variables controlling the spatial effects. The preliminary results indicate that an EKC exists in a reversed U shape, i. e., the income growth reduces environmental effects from the maximum point. However, introducing a cubic term for the income, the economic growth would not reveal any relationship with the deforestation in the Mato Grosso State.
