Baeyer-Villiger oxidation is an important chemical conversion, its products and intermediates can be used to produce a lot of medicine and fine chemicals. Its success is largely due to its versatility: a variety of carbonyl compounds can be oxidized, a large number of functional groups are tolerated, the regiochemistry is highly predictable and so on, but the oxidants that the traditional chemistry way needs have a number of problem in their production, storage, transportation and reaction, Chemistry way has not a high stereochemistry yet. However, biotransformations have many attractive characters, such as substrate-, stereo-, chemo- and enantioselectivity, so it has a great advantage in the fine chemical industry and has a bright prospect in the industrial biological catalysis. In order to study Baeyer-Villiger oxidation, we isolated a strain which can utilize cyclohexanone as sole carbon source and had a primary research on it. Its product was identified by GC/MS. Effects of pH, volume, concentration of cyclohexanone, cultivating time, temperature and rotate speed on the growth of bacteria were discussed, and the other organic substrates were also studied. The strain was identified as Plesiomonas sp.. The result of orthogonal test made it sure that the best growth condition of the strain is: rotate speed 150 rpm, temperature 30℃, pH7.0, concentration of cyclohexanone1ml/L. There is caprolactone in the product of the fermentation with cyclohexanone as substrate by GC/MS,which indicated that the strain can catalyse Baeyer-Villiger oxidation. In addition, the strain can utilize other organic substrates having the similar structure with cyclohexanone such as cyclohexane, cyclopentanone, Swertiamarin as sole carbon source. So the strain can be applied extentively.

In this paper, silver-loaded TiO2 photocatalyst was prepared by photochemical impregnation method and characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS), photooxidation of phenol and photoreduction of Cr(VI). Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) was used to detect photoproduced paramagnetic radicals. The correlation of photocatalytic activity and photogenerated reactive species was discussed, and the mechanism of silver-loaded TiO2 for enhancement of photocatalytic activity was elucidated. The results show that deposited silver on TiO2 Surface acts as a site where electrons accumulate. The better separation between electrons and holes on the modified TiO2 surface allowed more efficiency for the oxidation and reduction reactions. The enhanced photocatalytic activity was mainly attributed to the increased amounts of O-2(.-) reactive species and surface Ti3+ reactive center on silver-loaded TiO2 photocatalyst. It is indispensable to remove CO at the level of less than 50ppm in H-2-rich feed gas for the proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells. In this paper, catalyst with high activity and selectivity, and a microchannel reactor for CO preferential oxidation (PROX) have been developed. The results indicated that potassium on supported Rh metal catalysts had a promoting effect in the CO selective catalytic oxidation under H-2-rich stream, and microchannel reactor has an excellent ability to use in on-board hydrogen generation system. CO conversion keeps at high levels even at a very high GHSV as 500 000 h(-1), so, miniaturization of hydrogen generation system can be achieved by using the microchannel reactor. Pt3Sn/C catalyst was prepared by a modified polyol process and treated in air, H-2/Ar, and Ar atmosphere, respectively. XRD analyses indicate that all of these catalysts have face-centered cubic (fcc) crystal structure. Temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) experiments show that more Sn exists in zero-valence in the Ar-treated PtSn catalyst than in the others. Cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronoamperometry (CA) experiments, and the performance tests of direct ethanol fuel cell (DEFC) indicate that the catalytic activity of PtSn/C for ethanol oxidation was affected significantly by the chemical state of Sn in catalyst particles. The as-prepared PtSn/C gives the higher power density, while Ar-treated PtSn/C shows the lower cell performance. It seems that the multivalence Sn rather than the zero-valence Sn in the PtSn catalyst is the favorable form for ethanol oxidation. Energy dispersion X-ray analysis (EDX) of the PtSn/C-as prepared and PtSn/C (after stability test) shows the active species (platinum, tin, and oxygen) composition changed to a different extent. Further attempt to improve the catalyst stability is needed.

The effects of CO2 on the partial oxidation of heptane for hydrogen generation have been studied. Based on the experimental results and thermodynamic equilibrium calculations, the validity of CO2 addition to weaken the hot spots, and the feasibility of the autothermal operation are discussed.
