The present study has as goal to analyze the aplicability of the computational technology as mediator in the english-speaking teaching in the Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica do Rio Grande do Norte-CEFET/RN. The object of study was centered in the use of the computer incorporated in the teaching of English by four institution groups. The research was ruled metodologically in the study of case, adopting a qualitative and quantitative boarding of interpretative-reflexive mark. We support ourselves on a bibliographical literature revision that cares of the use of the computational technology matter into the class-room, aiming an education new practice, regarding the current reality conceptions in what we live in the technological education. We also use a referencial for a pedagogical action, trying to offer subsidies for a practice that provides the knowledges generation through the interaction, aiming a subject reflexive and critical education. For materialization of this study, we used esrutuctured action, as interviews for the teachers and students, besides the observations of the dayly in class-room, in order to get the necessary datas for analysis. During this study, we oserved that the use of the computer, while pedagogical support instrument in the english-speaking teaching, has acted like mediator of the teaching-learning process. The results demonstrate use of the computer use has been each more a practice adopted by other institution languages teachers. The conclusions confirm the hypothesis showed at the beginning of the work and evidence that the teachers are warden of forming thinking, reflexive and critical subjects. For that, they need to be prepared to face situations in which they can take the pedagogical practice to tune with the technological advances, consequently providing an effective technological education

The influence of small amounts of bovine serum albumin (BSA) (nM concentration) on the lateral organization of phospholipid monolayers at the air-water interface and transferred onto solid substrates as one-layer Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films was investigated. The kinetics of adsorption of BSA onto the phospholipid monolayers was monitored with surface pressure isotherms in a Langmuir trough, for the zwitterionic dipalmitoylphosphatidyl ethanolamine (N,N-dimethyl-PE) and the anionic dimyristoylphosphatidic acid (DMPA). A monolayer of N,N-dimethyl-PE or DMPA incorporating BSA was transferred onto a solid substrate using the Langmuir-Blodgett technique. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) images of one-layer LB films displayed protein-phospholipid domains, whose morphology was characterized using dynamic scaling theories to calculate roughness exponents. For DMPA-BSA films the surface is characteristic of self-affine fractals, which may be described with the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) equation. on the other hand, for N,N-dimethyl-PE-BSA films, the results indicate a relatively flat surface within the globule. The height profile and the number and size of globules varied with the type of phospholipid. The overall results, from kinetics of adsorption on Langmuir monolayers and surface morphology in LB films, could be interpreted in terms of the higher affinity of BSA to the anionic DMPA than to the zwitterionic N,N-dimethyl-PE. Furthermore, the effects from such small amounts of BSA in the monolayer point to a cooperative response of DMPA and N,N-dimethyl-PE monolayers to the protein. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. The expansion of citizen participation in the public sphere depends directly of access information on the performance of elected representatives, especially with regard to their voting decisions during their terms. The Information Science can assist in this process, proposing and evaluating models of access to such information that may be obtained from data to be provided by the official websites from legislative, in levels federal, state and municipal. It is proposed in this paper to analyze the process of collecting and using of data about votes of senators in order to promote the use of this model in other spheres. From analyzed data a affinity matrix was developed to identifying the relationship between each of the parliamentary with others, based on the similarities of the decisions taken in all the open votes. It was also analyzed the development of initial visualizations and the extension of the scope of the search through the application of data obtained in all the affinities between parliamentarians and to obtain an average affinity between parties, enabling new dimensions of analysis to the data collected. The preparation of the full matrix of relations of affinity among parliamentarians can provide a new horizon of possibilities for developing new forms of visualization and analysis, increasing the visibility of parliamentary actions with society.

Este trabalho visa investigar os saberes manifestados pelos alunos do curso de Matemática na Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), em relação à utilização da informática em sua formação. Para atender esse objetivo, utilizamos uma metodologia referente ao estudo de caso. Fizemos um breve histórico sobre a informática educativa no Brasil, destacamos os avanços e pesquisas na área e abordamos as principais maneiras de utilizá-los na educação; tratamos dos aspectos relacionados à Educação Matemática com alguns softwares educativos e as experiências com o uso do computador; e, em seguida, passamos para a nossa investigação, fundamentada nos documentos escritos pelos alunos e professores do curso de Licenciatura em Matemática da UFPA. As informações foram obtidas por meio de questionários aplicados aos alunos, durante o segundo semestre letivo de 2004, e aos professores no primeiro semestre letivo de 2005. Pudemos observar, nas análises, que alunos e professores consideram muito importante a inserção da informática ao currículo da Licenciatura em Matemática, porém destacam que este ensino ainda não ocorre e há necessidade de que ele faça parte efetiva da formação dos professores de Matemática, pois, pode contribuir para a melhoria do processo de ensino aprendizagem e é uma ferramenta indispensável para a educação.

O uso das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação -TIC no ambiente escolar, além de permitir o acesso a um universo de informações tão caótico quanto inimaginável, promoveu uma profunda transformação na relação de seus principais atores -professores e alunos - com o conhecimento. Desde o final da década de 1980 que, no Brasil, diversos programas surgiram com a finalidade de prover a educação pública de condições de igualdade com a educação privada, procurando através da inserção nas escolas da rede municipal e estadual de um ambiente tecnológico de aprendizagem com base em rede de computadores conectados a Internet, garantir o ansiado salto de qualidade do ensino público. A proposta desse trabalho é investigar se os professores de Matemática que atuam nas escolas da rede estadual em Belém/P A, que possuem Laboratório de Informática, estabelecem interações com esse ambiente na busca pela melhoria de sua práxis pedagógica, favorecendo a transmissão de informações, a construção de conhecimentos e de conceitos matemáticos.
