Las principal conclusión que se puede obtener tras el estudio es que el satélite, tal y como se ha tenido en cuenta, es perfectamente funcional desde el punto de vista eléctrico. Por la parte de la generación de potencia, los paneles son capaces de ofreces una cantidad tal como para que aproximadamente la mitad (en el caso de funcionamiento normal) de esta potencia sea destinada a la carga útil. Además, incluso en los modos de fallo definidos, el valor de potencia dedicada a la carga útil, es suficientemente alta como para que merezca la pena mantener el satélite operativo. Respecto de las baterías, se puede observar por su comportamiento que están, sobredimensionadas y por ello actúan como un elemento regulador del sistema completo, ya que tiene un amplio margen de trabajo por el cual se puede modificar el funcionamiento general. Y esto se demuestra no sólo en cuanto al estado de carga, que para el perfil de consumo constante y el de cuatro pulsos de 120 W por día se mantiene siempre por encima del 99%, si no también en términos de charging rate, el cual se está siempre dentro de los límites establecidos por el fabricante, asegurando una vida operativa acorde con la nominal. Por último, sobre el propio método de simulación se puede extraer que aun no siendo la mejor plataforma donde estudiar estos comportamientos. Presenta el inconveniente de que, en ciertas partes, restringe la flexibilidad a la hora de cambiar múltiples condiciones al mismo tiempo, pero a cambio permite un estudio bastante amplio con un requisito de conocimientos y de complejidad bajo, de manera que habilita a cualquier estudiante a llevar a cabo estudios similares.

Examples of global solutions of the shell equations are presented, such as the ones based on the well known Levy series expansion. Also discussed are some natural extensions of the Levy method as well as the inherent limitations of these methods concerning the shell model assumptions, boundary conditions and geometric regularity. Finally, some open additional design questions are noted mainly related to the simultaneous use in analysis of these global techniques and the local methods (like the finite elements) to finding the optimal shell shape, and to determining the reinforcement layout.

The problem of optimal impulsive collision avoidance between two colliding objects in 3-dimensional elliptical Keplerian orbits is investigated with the purpose of establishing the optimal impulse direction and orbit location that give rise to the maximum miss distance following the maneuver. Closed-form analytical expressions are provided that predicts such distance and can be employed to perform a full optimization analysis. After verifying the accuracy of the expression for any orbital eccentricity and encounter geometry the optimum maneuver direction is derived as a function of the arc length separation between the maneuver point and the predicted collision point. The provided formulas can be used for high accuracy instantaneous estimation of the outcome of a generic impulsive collision avoidance maneuver and its optimization

This paper try to prove how artisans c ould discover all uniform tilings and very interesting others us ing artisanal combinatorial pro cedures without having to use mathematical procedures out of their reac h. Plane Geometry started up his way through History by means of fundamental drawing tools: ruler and co mpass. Artisans used same tools to carry out their orna mental patterns but at some point they began to work manually using physical representations of fi gures or tiles previously drawing by means of ruler and compass. That is an important step for craftsman because this way provides tools that let him come in the world of symmetry opera tions and empirical knowledge of symmetry groups. Artisans started up to pr oduce little wooden, ceramic or clay tiles and began to experiment with them by means of joining pieces whether edge to edge or vertex to vertex in that way so it can c over the plane without gaps. Economy in making floor or ceramic tiles could be most important reason to develop these procedures. This empiric way to develop tilings led not only to discover all uniform tilings but later discovering of aperiodic tilings.

Actual system performance of a PV system can differ from its expected behaviour.. This is the main reason why the performance of PV systems should be monitored, analyzed and, if needed, improved on. Some of the current testing procedures relating to the electrical behaviour of PV systems are appropriated for detecting electrical performance losses, but they are not well-suited to reveal hidden defects in the modules of PV plants and BIPV, which can lead to future losses. This paper reports on the tests and procedures used to evaluate the performance of PV systems, and especially on a novel procedure for quick on-site measurements and defect recognition caused by overheating in PV modules located in operating PV installations.

The paper presents a high accuracy fully analytical formulation to compute the miss distance and collision probability of two approaching objects following an impulsive collision avoidance maneuver. The formulation hinges on a linear relation between the applied impulse and the objects relative motion in the b-plane, which allows to formulate the maneuver optimization problem as an eigenvalue problem. The optimization criterion consists of minimizing the maneuver cost in terms of delta-V magnitude in order to either maximize collision miss distance or to minimize Gaussian collision probability. The algorithm, whose accuracy is verified in representative mission scenarios, can be employed for collision avoidance maneuver planning with reduced computational cost when compared to fully numerical algorithms.

This work aims to develop a novel Cross-Entropy (CE) optimization-based fuzzy controller for Unmanned Aerial Monocular Vision-IMU System (UAMVIS) to solve the seeand-avoid problem using its accurate autonomous localization information. The function of this fuzzy controller is regulating the heading of this system to avoid the obstacle, e.g. wall. In the Matlab Simulink-based training stages, the Scaling Factor (SF) is adjusted according to the specified task firstly, and then the Membership Function (MF) is tuned based on the optimized Scaling Factor to further improve the collison avoidance performance. After obtained the optimal SF and MF, 64% of rules has been reduced (from 125 rules to 45 rules), and a large number of real flight tests with a quadcopter have been done. The experimental results show that this approach precisely navigates the system to avoid the obstacle. To our best knowledge, this is the first work to present the optimized fuzzy controller for UAMVIS using Cross-Entropy method in Scaling Factors and Membership Functions optimization.

The inverter in a photovoltaic system assures two essential functions. The first is to track the maximum power point of the system IV curve throughout variable environmental conditions. The second is to convert DC power delivered by the PV panels into AC power. Nowadays, in order to qualify inverters, manufacturers and certifying organisms use mainly European and/or CEC efficiency standards. The question arises if these are still representative of CPV system behaviour. We propose to use a set of CPV – specific weighted average and a representative dynamic response to have a better determination of the static and dynamic MPPT efficiencies. Four string-sized commercial inverters used in real CPV plants have been tested.

Recent scholarship suggests that religion should be conceived in terms of embodied social practices as much as (if not more than) a set of systematic beliefs. Such accounts of religion, I will argue, raise problems that have not been adequately treated in current discussion of the role of religion in liberal society.

No mundo contemporâneo as formas de atingir desempenho máximo são cruciais, resulta em altos investimentos em tecnologia com o intuito de melhorar, entre outros, o desempenho dos trabalhadores, por serem esses os responsáveis pela produção eficiente ou não de bens e serviços. A tecnologia tem sido essencial neste processo, tais recursos estão à disposição de toda e qualquer empresa. Resta então, otimizar o desempenho dos trabalhadores frente a tal cenário. Neste, a liderança que sempre foi marcante nos processos administrativos, precisa ser reavaliada com o objetivo de conhecer como ela se dá nas equipes virtuais. O trabalho em equipe num mesmo local ganhou força desde a última década e continua sendo propulsora de desempenho na década atual. Contudo, tais equipes ganharam novo papel: o de compartilhar o desenvolvimento de um bem ou serviço em locais distintos. Nasceram, então, as equipes virtuais. Este trabalho objetiva compreender como a liderança estimula a motivação dos integrantes de equipes virtuais. Com intuito de responder ao objetivo do trabalho foi realizado um estudo de caso exploratório em uma empresa multinacional francesa instalada na região metropolitana de São Paulo. O caso é composto por 10 sujeitos que cobrem todo território nacional, para a qual foi realizada entrevista pelos mesmos meios de comunicação utilizado pelos sujeitos. Como resultado obteve-se a idéia de que a liderança é de alta relevância para o caso estudado. Identificou-se que nas equipes virtuais há elementos facilitadores e dificultadores, de ordem pessoal, organizacional e de infra-estrutura.(AU)

A separation technique employing a microfabricated sieve has been demonstrated by observing the motion of DNA molecules of different size. The sieve consists of a two-dimensional lattice of obstacles whose asymmetric disposition rectifies the Brownian motion of molecules driven through the device, causing them to follow paths that depend on their diffusion coefficient. A nominal 6% resolution by length of DNA molecules in the size range 15–30 kbp may be achieved in a 4-inch (10-cm) silicon wafer. The advantage of this method is that samples can be loaded and sorted continuously, in contrast to the batch mode commonly used in gel electrophoresis.
