A distorção do conceito de economia no jornal Folha de São Paulo

The work aims to analyse the concept of economics as the science of scarcity is distorced in the newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo. Neoclassical economists characterize the economy as the science that is concerned with the welfare of the people, satisfying their needs. However, the economy in the newspapers of the mainstream media appears in contexts where only the profit of companies and businesses are addressed, leaving aside the problem of economic inequality, unemployment, working conditions and other issues that are also part of economy, but they are hardly concerns of journalists. In this work, the object of study was the notebook Market and content analysis followed the criteria of Bardin (1977). Ten words were chosen in the category science of scarcity and ten words were chosen in the category science of abundance. From these categories, a careful reading was done, counting how many times each word appeared in the newspaper. Also paid attention to the words that appeared and contexts in which they fell journalistic genre. In a second step, interviews were conducted with journalists from economics to know what they mean by the economy and what the guidelines are more common. Data collection and interviews contributed to the interpretation and confirmation on whether or not the distortion of the concept of economy and how it happens

Identificação e análise da relação entre a utilização de construtos da qualidade e o desempenho e competitividade organizacional

A growing number of companies is adopting quality management systems to achieve better performance and remain competitive in the market. These systems, however, can prove quite complex because they involve different practices and factors. This paper seeks to identify and analyze how each of these factors and practices, defined as quality constructs, influence the performance and competitiveness in the organizational environment and thus contribute to the strategic decisions in the area of quality. To achieve that, a survey was conducted with industrial companies located in the state of São Paulo, and the data was analyzed by a structural equation software. As a result, it was observed that the constructs Customer Focus and Human Resources are the most influent for the competitive criteria of a company, while the constructs Supplier development and Customer Focus exert greater impact on performance

Implicações federativas da emenda Ibsen Pinheiro

Since it was proposed, the Ibsen Pinheiro amendment has given rise to a huge debate in Brazilian society. This amendment proposes to share the revenue generated by royalties and special participations from offshore oil drilling between all municipalities and states, using for this the states and municipalities participation funds. This new distribution is a great rupture with the current model, which mandates that these resources should only be distributed to producing municipalities and states. Since the new proposal affects all offshore operations, and not only those in the new pre-salt areas, the producing municipalities and states would face an immediate loss of revenue in the scale of billions of reais. This study's objective is to analyze the validity of the criteria of redistribution of the government participations proposed by the Ibsen amendment. In this sense, we present the current Brazilian government participation model, focusing on the overfinancing of subnational spheres generated by this model, and compare it to a distribution simulation using the Ibsen amendment criteria. This comparison shows that the current beneficiaries would face a significant loss of revenue, and a distribution that favors the poorest regions of the country, consequence of the states and municipalities participation funds use. The study's last part discusses the various arguments in favor and against the amendment, especially those of constitutional character, most of which are contrary to the Ibsen amendment

Influência da luz LED na cultura celular de Mieloma múltiplo murino–NS1 in vitro

A monoclonal antibody (mAb) is an important tool in medical biotechnology and the production of biopharmaceuticals, especially for disease diagnosis and treatment of infections, because the antibodies have a significant advantage over chemical agents used in conventional therapies . The last thirty years the technology of production of monoclonal antibodies developed mainly the technique of obtaining in vitro, but also of their production is laborious, the cost is high. A major element of the high cost of production is the fact that the long-term culture consumes a large amount of imported inputs with high added value. A major contribution of this work is to promote cell growth more quickly and efficiently. Currently, a great race to discover new technologies and techniques to synthesize new antibodies and significantly increase the production of murine mAbs. New technologies such as laser and LED are innovations and widespread in modern life, so much so that its use has proliferated worldwide, primarily in the medical field. Recent studies show a series of results from the influence of the LED light in biological tissues such as: increasing the rate of cell proliferation, increased production rate of fibroblasts, increasing the rate of synthesis of RNA and DNA synthesis of ATP, etc. To assess the contribution of the LED in the culture of Myeloma NS1murino compared to the standard procedure. - NS1 cells were provided and followed the criteria of culture medium of the Laboratory of Cellular Engineering Center of Botucatu (POPs). The same amount of cells was grown in bottles of 25 cm2 polystyrene Tissue Culture Treated, specifically marked and kept in special medium RPMI 1640 Gibco BRL  supplemented with fetal bovine serum 10%, essential amino acids and non-essential, glucose, insulin and antibiotics. Decision making is one of the most important factors for growth and future, both from a business, as in people's life and attitudes in the simplest of everyday day. This work aims to assist decision making in buying a laser cut machine, a manufacturer of auto parts and wheels, and later this technique can be considered to acquisition of other equipment. In this case was used the AHP to aid the decision by multiple criteria. A magia em um texto técnico agronômico da antiguidade romana: o 'Opus agriculturae', de Paládio

This work analyses the chapter 35, book I, of the agricultural treatise Opus agriculturæ, written by Rutilius Taurus Aemilianus Palladius (V C.E.). In that chapter the author presents some recipes, called remedia, to protect the farm and the garden against weeds and weather phenomena, as blight and fogs. The magical practices are identified according to both the fundamental principles of magic (similarity, contiguity, contrariety), which rule magical thought, and some elements of magical symbology. As the author seems not to distinguish magic and science, for he brings together both kinds of recipes, the analysis of some remedia emphasizes a specific study on the materials and substances employed in those recipes and their value in Science today. This leads to the discussions of how magical thought works, what are the limits (if they actually exist) between Magic and Science and between Magic and Religion. This work covers the subjects above and it has the following pourposes: demonstrate the characteristics that authorize the remedia described by Palladius to be classified as folk magic; identify the relations between this kind of practice with more complex forms of magic, as with religion, with science; demonstrate the contribution of the folk magic in ancient Rome farming for the formulation of more apropriated criteria of evaluating magic in comparison to religious and scientific thought.

Gestão de estoque em uma empresa de varejo de produtos de limpeza e higiene pessoal

The deficiency in the product inventory management is common in small businesses, affecting several areas, especially the purchasing department that has difficulty in performing their tasks, acquiring the supplier's products at the time and in the most appropriate amount. Especially in the retail sector, the loss of quality of services is visible, because the availability of the product when there is demand is essential for the occurrence of sales and customer satisfaction. In this study, looking to improve inventory management in a retail company of cleaning products and personal hygiene, apply the classification method ABC (or Pareto Rule) to segment the available products. Thus are adopted buying criteria of new products based on the concepts of economic order quantity, safety stock and resupply point. The results show the feasibility of this procedure adopted because it was possible to propose an improved inventory management in a simple and effective way, contributing to company's competitive advantage

The composite resin is the material of election for direct restorations in posterior teeth currently. The restorative dentistry aims to improve each day the material and facilitate the restorative technique. This paper describes the technique of occlusal matrix made to speed up and preservation the occlusal surface of a first molar tooth affected by caries lesion. A new resin-based composite was used called Silorane, which may be placed in larger increments due the material has low shrinkage and polymerization stress. The use of occlusal matrix associated with a low shrinkage resin composite can simplify the clinical work, and result in a restoration with excellent reproduction of anatomical.
