Browser Inspectors

CSS Practical

Student's watcher : comparison between ASP.NET and PHP+CSS

"Student’s Watcher” is a small Web application which wants to show in a visual, simple and fast way, the evolution of the students. The main project table displays such things as marks and comments about students. We can add a comment for each mark to explain why this mark. The objective is to be able to know if some student has a problem, how is going his year, marks in other courses, or even, to know if he has a bad week in a different subjects. We can see the evolution of students in past years to do an objective comparison. It also allows inserting global comments of student, we have a list of these, and all professors can add new ones, where we can see more general valuations. “Student’s Watcher” was begun in ASP.net, but finally my project would be developed in PHP, HTML and CSS. This project wants to be a comparison between two of most important languages used nowadays, ASPX and PHP

Aplicación web para Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria : [Parte A]

[ES] Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado es un servicio basado en tecnologías web (PHP, HTML5, CSS, JQUERY y AJAX). El objetivo principal es ofrecer un servicio de creación y gestión de actas para el Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Para ello, consta de dos módulos principales, uno para “crear actas” y otro para “editar actas”. La aplicación consta de dos partes. Una primera parte desarrollada por mí, que consiste en primer lugar en todas las reuniones que fueron necesarias con el personal del Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria para entender sus necesidades y cómo poder afrontarlas como desarrollador. Y en segundo lugar, me he encargado de la elaboración y la estructura de la página web, mediante la generación de los distintos ficheros con contenido  HTML, en la interconexión de estos ficheros y en el paso de parámetros entre dichos ficheros mediante las distintas herramientas (JQUERY, AJAX), así como también he dotado a la web de todo el contenido JavaScript necesario. En este apartado también se encuentra la tarea de realizar un módulo de búsqueda y un módulo para mostrar las actas ya acabadas. El de búsqueda contiene un formulario con un campo de búsqueda y busca las coincidencias dentro de todos los ficheros que se han generado con la aplicación. También muestra un link para abrir ese fichero desde el navegador. Como aportación adicional también me he encargado de la configuración y generación de las tablas necesarias de la base de datos para el funcionamiento de la aplicación.

Server-side scripting: confronto fra PHP, Python e server-side JS integrato in NodeJs

Lo scopo della tesi è quello di descrivere e mettere a confronto tre diversi linguaggi, e quindi approcci, alla programmazione server-side e di back-end, ovvero il linguaggio PHP, il linguaggio Python ed il linguaggio Javascript, utilizzato però per una programmazione “Server Side”, e quindi associato al framework NodeJS. Questo confronto si pone l’obiettivo di sottolineare le differenti caratteristiche di ogni linguaggio, gli scopi a cui esso maggiormente si addice e di fornire una sorta di guida per far in modo che si possa comprendere al meglio quale dei tre linguaggi maggiormente usati per la programmazione backend si conformi meglio all’obiettivo prepostosi.

En esta presentación se describe el lenguaje CSS, el formato estándar en la web para asociar estilo a los documentos HTML/XHTML.

Encyclopaedia Slavica Sanctorum: Activity, Users, Statistics

Encyclopaedia slavica sanctorum (eslavsanct.net) is designed as a complex heterogenous multimedia product. It is part of the project Encyclopaedia Slavica Sanctorum: Saints and Holy Places in Bulgaria (in electronic and Guthenberg versions). Until 2013, its web-based platform for online management and presentation of structured digital content has been prepared and numerous materials have been input. The platform is developed using the server technologies PHP, MySQL and HTML, JavaScript, CSS on the client side. The search in the e-ESS can be made by different parameters (12, or combinations of parameters), such as saints’ or feasts’ names, type of sainthood, types of texts dedicated to the saints, dates of saints’ commemorations, and several others. Both guests and registered users can search in the e-ESS but the latter have access to much more information including the publications of original sources. The e-platform allows for making statistics of what have been searched and read. The software used for content and access analysis is BI tool QlikView. As an analysis services provider, it is connected to the e-ESS objects repository and tracking services by a preliminary created data warehouse. The data warehouse is updated automatically, achieving real time analytics solution. The paper discusses some of the statistics results of the use of the e-ESS: the activities of the editors, users, and guests, the types of searches, the most often viewed object, such as the date of January 1 and the article on St. Basil the Great which is one of the richest encyclopaedia articles and includes both matadata and original sources published, both from medieval Slavonic manuscripts and popular culture records.

Un entorno de test colaborativo en JavaScript para Siette

En este proyecto nosotros vamos a hacer una pasada por un sistema colaborativo de resolución de test. En este entorno el estudiante resuelve preguntas en un grupo de estudiantes en tres fases diferentes (individual, colaborativa y final). Este sistema ha demostrado que los alumnos que resuelven los test en este entorno mejoran sus respuestas. Esto se debe a que los estudiante aprenden como sus compañeros se enfrentan a las cuestiones planteadas y como las resuelven. Este sistema esta actualmente funcionando en la plataforma siette, pero esta teniendo problemas de compatibilidad con algunos navegadores y esto presenta un problema para desarrollar nueva funcionalidad. Nosotros queremos resolver esto con la utilización de HTML5, CSS y JavaScript. Este Sistema será diseñado para funcionar en conjunto con la plataforma de resolución de tests (Siette) en un modo que llamaremos modo colaborativo que solo será usado para resolver test en grupo con otros compañeros. Siette nos propone un entorno donde trabajan profesores diseñando test y alumnos que testean su conocimiento.
