A virada informacional na Filosofia: alguma novidade para o estudo da mente?

The concept of information is analyzed starting from Adams’ hypothesis in The Informational Turn in Philosophy, according to which there has been a far-reaching turn in Philosophy following the publication of Turing’s article “Computing Machinery and Intelligence”. Adams maintains that new guidelines are being indicated in philosophical research, having the concept of “information” as the basis for treatment of classical problems, such as the relationships between mind-body, perception-action, and the nature of knowledge, amongst others. Partially agreeing with Adams, we believe, however, that his hypothesis faces difficulties, the most fundamental of which concerns the different meanings given to the concept of information. We argue that even though the concept of information underlying the mechanicist proposal of Turing, according to which “to think is to compute”, is indeed being employed in Philosophy, this is not because of its mechanistic nature, but mainly due to the representationist presupposition dominant in this area. From this point of view, the informational turn in philosophy would not provide any great novelty, given that since the earliest days philosophical approaches to the nature of mind have always been mainly representationist. The novelty would not lie specifically in the Turing thesis, but in reflections on the nature of information, especially ecological information, and its relation to action.

O sentido ético da dramática de si e o significado político da poética da diferença na pragmática do ensino: considerações à luz de Foucault

This essay discusses the theme of poetics in teaching activity, and discusses its possible ability to think about the ethical-formative sense and its possible political use to propose alternatives to the educational praxis that is restricted, in actuality, a pragmatic teaching. From the point of view of aesthetics of existence, therefore, we proposes a particular notion of poetic, fairly close to what can be understood by the dramatic that underlies the pragmatic of you last Foucault, as well as analyzes your chances to problematize the current pragmatic teaching. Thus, we look forward to assist the educator thinking both the possibility of ethics (self) transformation as the meaning of formation of another in his educational activity.

Matizes do pensamento político norte-americano na virada conservadora de 1970

This paper examines how the reinvigoration of the exceptional American historical experience appears as a solution to some of the leading neoconservatives, considering Nathan Glazer and Irving Kristol as emblematic, regarding the fall of the American empire, beginning in the 1960s and 1970s, after its rise during the Cold War, the so-called 25 glorious years. We note that the arguments of these authors is rooted in the revival of reactionary rhetoric as an antidote to the decadence of American virtue supposedly caused by Communism, by the counterculture movement and the alleged perverse effect of the welfare state.

Estudo sobre a fidedignidade de dados na avaliação pragmática em crianças com desenvolvimento típico de linguagem

O objetivo desse estudo foi verificar o momento com maior fidedignidade de dados do processo de avaliação da linguagem, para realizar o levantamento do perfil pragmático infantil. Participaram cinco crianças, com desenvolvimento típico de linguagem, e idades entre 7 anos e 1 mês e 8 anos e 11 meses. Foram realizados 150 minutos de gravação, em uma situação de interação da criança com a pesquisadora, divididas em cinco sessões individuais de 30 minutos. Houve análise posterior dos dados, segundo o protocolo de habilidades comunicativas verbais (HCV), sendo delineado o perfil pragmático individual de cada filmagem (30 minutos) e de toda a amostra (150 minutos), para a comparação (sessões 1 a 5 x total geral das sessões) dos índices de fidedignidade (IF) e status de confiabilidade (SC). Para o cálculo do IF e do SC, respectivamente, foram realizadas as análises individuais interobservador e intraobservador. Os resultados apresentados pelas crianças 1 e 2 alcançaram maior IF na sessão 2; os da criança 3 apresentaram valores semelhantes de IF nas sessões 3, 4 e 5; os da criança 4 obtiveram o maior IF nas sessões 1 e 3; e os da criança 5 alcançaram o mesmo valor de IF em todas sessões. Com relação ao SC, a sessão 2 apresentou maior porcentagem de altíssima confiabilidade para a maioria das crianças, seguida da sessão 3. Na análise realizada por categoria de HCV, a sessão 3 apresentou maior SC para as habilidades dialógicas, narrativo-discursivas e total geral de HCV. No geral, observa-se que as sessões 2 e 3 foram as que permitiram alcançar maior IF e SC na análise realizada para delineamento do perfil pragmático infantil.

La competencia pragmática en el aprendizaje del inglés: importancia, desarrollo y propuestas de mejora en la Facultad de Filología (ULPGC)

[EN]In this paper we revise the concept of pragmatic competence and underline the recognized importance that it has in the process of teaching and learning a foreign language. The need to include explicit pedagogical instruction in the classroom is also approached. A revision of the syllabi used for the teaching of English in the Degree in Hispanic Studies at the Faculty of Philology (ULPGC) reveals some minor failure in the way the functional content is specified regarding pragmatic abilities. Some examples of how to deal with the development of pragmatic competence in the classroom, including ICT, are also presented, together with some suggestions to improve it.

La línea editorial: una cuestión de Pragmática. El caso de ABC y El País

L’elaborato ha come oggetto l’analisi di alcune tecniche di attenuazione e intensificazione ricorrenti nel linguaggio giornalistico spagnolo. Per l’analisi e si forniranno molteplici esempi tratti dagli articoli di due giornali prestigiosi: ABC ed El País. Gli articoli scelti sono rilevanti per il loro contenuto in quanto trattano alcune tematiche particolarmente controverse nella società spagnola. L’elaborato si suddivide in tre capitoli: nel primo si traccia una breve storia del giornalismo, nel secondo si introduce il concetto di linea editoriale e nel terzo si presenterà la proposta di analisi.
